No sunny. heh, that's punny.

anyway kid, it demonstrates that those almost 4 in 10 that voted for pony are ignorant about the economy and too apathetic to learn about it.

that these low information voters like getting bribed with their own money (and don't care about monthly revolving interest rate charges).

It also shows how easily the media party can manipulate, court and date the masses (with help from the American special interest trolls) with shiny happy hipster wurds.

It also demonstrated for me that Obama still rocks with a lot of people in this country........all that hope and change stuff really had me hearing echoes. Didn't work all that well south of the border (sorry gopher) ..........sure hope it works better up here.

I hear you Mowich, I'm going to give Justin a chance for two reasons, not much choice and the majority want him, but I'm certainly not convinced he'll be any better than Harper.................very likely not - other than he's a breath of fresh air and the one advantage, he'll be trying very hard for the first couple of years, but I'm (suspicious old bugger than I am) very skeptical that he will be any better for the long haul, but for now I'll support him.:)

Some old farts have gained some wisdom, some on here have not. As much as I think your politics are wonky, you do have the wisdom to at least wait and see.

If nothing else, Cliffy, I've learned that talking the talk isn't the same as walking the walk. From Justin we've heard the talk- now we'll just have to wait for the rest of it and see! :)

Could you have done as well "in his shoes"?
you mean his "squeaky shoes, with hollow bottoms, and lifts on the heels",you mean these shoes?or his Sunday shoes?what shoes are you talking about?

Harper leaves a legacy alright..

Protected bodies of water from about 200000 down to 159
No more due process of law
No more privacy
No more oversight
Over $1 trillion spent on illegal wars (with zero results apart from creating anger & hatred toward us)
$400 billion in new debt
Etc Etc

That is quite the legacy
I think you are light on the Conservatives goverance,my list is much longer.

I'm pickled tink the NDP was decimated.
not really.

So you are a band wagoner? You do realize Libs and Cons have a nearly identical vision for Canada. You and the rest of the NDP lunatics are now the odd men out.
not in my world,everyone is in,conservatives out,unless......

Ideologues have such a narrow field of vision!
big thinkers proved what democracy is all about, big thinkers start with ideas.

Do you remember me telling you that was what was going to happen? :) :) I predicted that the day Layton died.
some things you should keep to yourself.

They have nothing to offer except debt and wild inflation.
another optimist in the crowd.

Canada is left, lefter and Lefitist.
for your information, all this right and left talk is wedge talk,we know this is the lingo of the old,we respect this, but in reality in a global modern world there is no room for left and right wing politics, hate to inform you petros you are really dating yourself with such silly talk.

Weird, isn't it? The usual left/right split doesn't apply. In some ways we're much more conservative, with our relatively stingy social benefits.

Other ways we're vastly more liberal. We don't criminalize speech, we let people pretty much own what guns they want. I knew a guy who was a Border Patrol officer on the Canadian border. He always said that he envied the way the Canadian border folks just had a stack of blank warrants they could just fill out and execute, no fuss, no muss, no judicial review.

I think the way to think of it is that we're less statist than Canada.
Mr. T,
you are in left field with your insights of Canada, maybe you want to move up for a better view, better yet start giving the curious like me,some constitutional law talk, some brave constitutional talk, doesn't matter if its your american or canadian voice, lets just hear it.
Canada is celebrating our Constitution/charter of rights, bring on your knowledge.
