Perhaps you are right. However, positive thoughts are better for one's mental health than negative thoughts.
It always helps to look on the positive aspects of life. I remember an amusing incident. We know quite a few Indians, and once one of them came to invite us for the wedding of their son. She told me that they were reluctant at first to give their blessing to the wedding, since they are from Punjab and the girl is from Bengal (and hence her language, culture etc. are totally different).
I told her, look at the positive side, at least he is marrying an Indian, and not a white girl. I further told her that even if he was marrying a white girl, one must still look at the positive side; at least he was marrying a girl, and not a boy. She was amused by my remark.
But it pays to look at the positive side of any situation, it is just better for ones’ mental health.
