Good luck getting the Republican controlled congress to impeach him. US congressional districts are so gerrymandered that Republican representatives couldn't count on having enough sane people in their constituencies to support impeachment. They'd all be thrown out of office by the next election and the only thing Republican members of congress care about is keeping their jobs.
Republicans are willing to impeach him precisely because they want to keep their jobs...plus they don't like Trump and his desire to increase spending by "trillions" of dollars.

Does this make any sense to anyone?

MHz and Danbones might understand it.

I'll believe it when I see it. Republicans tried at various times to denounce Trump, only to have to backpedal when it was clear voters would punish them for it. Trump has already sunk to previously unimaginable lows and his popularity among the Republican base is strong. What more could he do?

And do you seriously think Republicans actually care about deficit spending?

I'm not so sure about that. I watched the 6 P.M. news on C.B.C. tonight and 38% of the populace likes him including most of the people in industry and finance. Since the election the T.S.X. has gained 8.5% and the Dow has gained over 12% and it's recognized as being at least partly attributable to Trump. What he told the media yesterday was exactly what they needed to hear..............QUIT EXAGGERATING AND LYING! :) :)
They are anticipating the massive tax breaks. If that doesn't happen the air will fall out of the markets pretty fast. The ends don't justify the means. He doesn't have to be an abject idiot to create tax breaks.

Trump's popularity among the republican base is not particularly strong. True Trumpites like Loc and ES make up a small percentage. People supported Trump because some of his policies sounded good. I said before, he's a great salesman.

"I'm going to bring jobs back" and "I'm gonna make you feel safe" and "I'm going to punish Ford with a tariff because they've moved plants the Mexico" sound great on the surface, if you believe it.

The Trump reality is something different. Ford won't be moving plants back, tariffs will cost taxpayers dearly, safety will come at the cost of freedom and the simple reality is that the unemployment rate is low.

Trump's policies will fail the American people. Trump's core supporters don't care as long as we get rid of Muslims. The rest of the voters do.

As his policies fail and people get angry, Republicans will be quite happy to throw him under the bus.

... and always say, BLAME OBAMA!
The only one that delivers fake news is the chappie in the cartoon. His version of a well oiled machine is just more alternate factoids. What inheck does he have to do or say before folks see thorough his BS?? This is all just too bizarre.

He could arrange to kill someone or a gang ... be found out.....and cal it fake news and his followers would believe him. Mind you that is what Trump wants..BLIND LOYALTY. to HIM.... but not so much in return. But they don't care... as it has become like a "religion " for his followers now. Mind you Jones of Jonestown.(foreg).had a similar fanatical following...... and we all know how that ended up. It is a farce that Trump is trying to eradicate fanaticism...when in fact he fosters it when it comes to his self adulation and his followers reinforcing this to themselves and to him..while chanting his ill conceived slogans.

Regardless.the media has its hands full...as if ever it was critical to provide balanced , factual, information about hte goings on re; this chaos in Washingtonian is now. trump will continue to try and bypass the media .unless it says flattering things about him. IOW...alternate factoids.

Perhapssthe following does not know the difference between chaos and orderly running of gov't. OR they prefer chaos for some bizarre reason.

Fake News Tries to Smear Trump as Anti-Semite; Backfires Miserably
Reporters who tried to portray President Trump as an anti-Semite had egg on their faces after it was revealed that the Jewish man he supposedly insulted was a big Trump supporter.
During Trump’s press conference yesterday, Jake Turx from the Brooklyn based Orthodox Jewish weekly Ami Magazine asked Trump about anti-Semitic attacks.
Trump seemed to make the mistake of thinking that Turx was accusing him of being responsible for inspiring such attacks and noted that many of these alleged hate crimes were in fact hoaxes staged by anti-Trump leftists.
This prompted Trump to tell Turx to “sit down,” an exchange that immediately triggered a wave of contrived outrage from numerous journalists who suggested it was evidence of Trump’s anti-Semitism.
“It was the answer you’d get from an anti-semite,” tweeted AmericaBlog’s John Aravosis.
It was the answer you’d get from an anti-semite. Trump was offended that the reporter was concerned about bomb threats against Jews. https://t.co/DX9PRv0sPX
— John Aravosis (@aravosis) February 17, 2017
“Trump says he’s not racist or anti-Semite but shouted down openly Jewish reporter as liar,” commented BuzzFeed’s Borzou Daragahi.
Trump’s says he’s not racist or anti-Semite but shouted down openly Jewish reporter as liar & demanded black reporter to work as secretary.

“Amidst all the stomach turning moments of yesterday’s press conference, this is perhaps the hardest to watch,” said Democratic Senator Chris Murphy.

Of course Trump is not a racist for attacking this reporter. Jews are not a race. It is well known that Trump will make deals with anybody, any race, if he can make money from it. Other than that, he couldn't give a monkey's azz for any human being.

I'm thinking that most people are terrified that a known lunatic, not only has his finger on the big red button, but has admitted his willingness to use it against any perceived (true or not) threat. He is not going to make America great again, but he and his billionaire friends are going to to get filthy rich raping what is left of the environment.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but it looks like Trump is actually making America great again. Just look at the progress made since the election:
1. Unprecedented levels of ongoing civic engagement.
2. Millions of Americans now know who their state and federal representatives are without having to google.
3. Millions of Americans are exercising more. They're holding signs and marching every week.
4. Alec Baldwin is great again. Everyone's forgotten he's kind of a jerk.
5. The Postal Service is enjoying the influx cash due to stamps purchased by millions of people for letter and postcard campaigns.
6. Likewise, the pharmaceutical industry is enjoying record growth in sales of anti-depressants.
7. Millions of Americans now know how to call their elected officials and know exactly what to say to be effective.
8. Footage of town hall meetings is now entertaining.
9. Tens of millions of people are now correctly spelling words like emoluments, narcissist, fascist, misogynist, holocaust and cognitive dissonance.
10. Everyone knows more about the rise of Hitler than they did last year.
11. Everyone knows more about legislation, branches of power and how checks and balances work.
12. Marginalized groups are experiencing a surge in white allies.
13. White people in record numbers have just learned that racism is not dead. (See #6)
14. White people in record numbers also finally understand that Obamacare IS the Affordable Care Act.
15. Stephen Colbert's "Late Night" finally gained the elusive #1 spot in late night talk shows, and Seth Meyers is finding his footing as today's Jon Stewart.
16. "Mike Pence" has donated millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood since Nov. 9th.
17. Melissa FREAKING McCarthy.
18. Travel ban protesters put $24 million into ACLU coffers in just 48 hours, enabling them to hire 200 more attorneys. Lawyers are now heroes.
19. As people seek veracity in their news sources, respected news outlets are happily reporting a substantial increase in subscriptions, a boon to a struggling industry vital to our democracy.
20. Live streaming court cases and congressional sessions are now as popular as the Kardashians.
21. Massive cleanup of facebook friend lists.
22. People are reading classic literature again. Sales of George Orwell's "1984" increased by 10,000% after the inauguration. (Yes, that is true. 10,000%. 9th grade Lit teachers all over the country are now rock stars.)
23. More than ever before, Americans are aware that education is important. Like, super important.
24. Now, more than anytime in history, everyone believes that anyone can be President. Seriously, anyone.

Kevin O'Leary: Unfair To Criticize Donald Trump In First 100 Days

Conservative leadership candidate Kevin O'Leary says criticizing U.S. President Donald Trump and his policies is fair game — just not in his first 100 days.

Appearing in a CNBC segment on Friday, O'Leary locked horns with fellow "Shark Tank" star Mark Cuban over comments he made about Trump on Twitter.

In a series of tweets, the Dallas Mavericks owner said Trump had no leadership skills or self-awareness and did not have the capacity to admit his mistakes.

"Let's just be real, everything I've said is absolutely true. He's oblivious, he won't accept mistakes, he's shown no leadership qualities whatsoever," Cuban said.

Later in the segment, O'Leary says though he disagrees with some of Trump's policies, notably his executive orders on immigration, he finds it "very unfair" to criticize any president in their first 100 days.

"Ho ho ho! Welcome to the United States of America, buddy!" Cuban said, adding that citizens have the right to stand up for what they believe in.
