Buy him a good book. He'll need one because what he is doing now will likely be what he does for the rest of his life.

Re: Wikileaks' Whistleblower Subjected to Inhumane Conditions

Just one question...... what relevance does the above have?

In a military prison?????????

The poor bastard has six different targets on him, this is just another one.

Not that he is undeserving.

Re: Wikileaks' Whistleblower Subjected to Inhumane Conditions

Manning is under 24 hour a day observation, he is not allowed to exercise in his cell, let alone read a book or watch a movie. His conditions have been deliberately controlled to maximize the effects of isolation. I expect Manning will emerge from prison a mere shadow of his former self. It would have been kinder and faster to perform a lobotomy.

Re: Wikileaks' Whistleblower Subjected to Inhumane Conditions

I'm not sure what one would expect after stealing secret documents.
"In the end times, all will be revealed." No more secrets! It is time to expose all the despots and their murderous activities. Phuque them and their dirty little dealings and secrets. As long as there are secrets, the world is doomed to repeat the same stupid wars and intrigue until we self destruct. Bradley Manning is a hero of the highest order, Assange is too. We need more heroes.

No movies!

The bastards... I'll bet that they don't even give him the choice between skim, 2% of homogenized milk for his cappuccinos!

Ohhh, the humanity of it all.

I can't believe it.. It's almost like he's forced to live in a prison!

Did you watch the Stockholm lecture with both alleged victims swooning over the guy AFTER he supposedly raped them?

If Manning had been a Christian conservative instead of a gay liberal and anti American activist would the mass media report it?8O
And would he have the usual posters defend him in this forum?;-)

Of course they would. Any Conservative who has ever had to deal with thrombosis and anyeurisms from atrophy would know that getting no exercise is indeed torture and life threatening.

The Stockholm Syndrome strikes again in Stockholm.... Ironic.

Regardless, the Swedish authorities have taken this seriously enough to call for his extradition.

The mass media would focus on the exact nature of this bad, evil person. Hell, they'd probably bend over backwards to unearth and interview any folks that were impacted (read: victimized) by the treason.

By in large, the 'usual suspects' would be foaming at the mouth that he is not being penalized harshly enough and holler for his "right to watch movies" be revoked.

I would still be defending him, but secretly, I would be poking needles in my manning voodoo doll.

Is this the first time a trumped up sex scandal has been used to railroad someone or has the manual changed? How the hell did a guy like me know that a sex scandal would happen days before it happened without this type of farce being used over and over and over again?

Not to downplay your accuracy, but it seemed that this was easy to predict. The first goal had to be to discredit him, and by reading this thread, it seems to have worked well.

Conservatives love railroading.

Captain, I thought a person was considered innocent until proven guilty (unless they are lefty, pinko, fags, of course.) Manning has not even been charged. Like I said, the right wing can "Bite Me!"

Re: Wikileaks' Whistleblower Subjected to Inhumane Conditions

Is that how things work in a free and open society or one which is ruled by an authoritarian regime?

People can be locked up and tortured without any due process in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, North Korea... and the US.
