YAAAAAY! A new clown has just joined the forum!

By the way...the way they live in the country next door does affect my way of life as it does the Mexicans through the racist policies of the states close to the common border.

Just keep paying off the Taiwanese to intercept those Tamil Ships! As long as they don't get close you can keep pretending you are open to all immigrants.

Keep the borders closed and don't allow oil and water to flow to the USA until they start behaving like citizens of the world rather than hired thugs in combat gear.

Go ahead... Do it! I bet you won't.

and they are in the daily process of trying to do the same to the Middle East and Afganistan, Iraq, Libya, and other hot spots.

Your country is in two out of three of those countries and actually leading the attack in Libya!

Attn..."COLPY"....If you are going to pose with a gun on a website that is promoting free thought and the interchange of ideas....Then be prepared for ridicule...As most of us suspect... the firearm is a common substitute ...and being a "conservative" is giving up on having a mind of ones own....You, Sir...have been bought and paid for by the system that has legalised the export of Crystalite...a known carcinogen. How do you feel...great I guess as you have that big weapon in your hands. When did you stand up for your country and can you claim to be a vet..?...no I think not.

No, I am not a vet.

As for free thought and the interchange of ideas.....as soon as you put forth an idea, I'll be more than willing to discuss it with you. So far, I haven't seen anything that qualifies.

"The Yanks are neanderthal morons" is not an idea, it is an insult, far too typical of the Canadian mindset.........thye inferiority complex manifesting itself.

As for being conservative, most of us are, after our brain stems become fully attached with maturity........it takes someone of some understanding to realize that there are valid viewpoints outside of your own......

Ridicule? Where? When?? :)

Check some of the Nobel names and you might see a preponderance of "foreign" sounding names in the lists....The universities sometimes virtually buy the talents of the world's elite and other times kidnap scientists ( as did the Russians in 1945), in order to further their science programs at the expense of the poorer, and more closed societies. Immigration to other countries is a matter of life or death...Whom amongst us would not choose life over death and want to leave Africa, or Mexico, or Chile...or even Ireland....if death was a constant threat by disease or lack of food.

The Americans kidnap scientists?????

(Shakes head)

And you want to be taken seriously....right???

Now that the state of Wisconsin has passed the state bill....the one that allows their citizens to carry concealed weapons....is there any room for rational thought in the USA...???. It seems a little stupid to allow these people to arm themselves any more than their flawed constitution already condones by law. We are not talking about intelligent people down there...south of Canada. Their thoughts are centred around the blighted country they call home...and they are in the daily process of trying to do the same to the Middle East and Afganistan, Iraq, Libya, and other hot spots. Adding fuel to the "Arab Spring" and the lands that Islam will soon be running as their own.
Is anyone going to stop this destruction, except by the financial force of China...now that Japan has been sidelined. Once the whole world has become saturated with shoddily made consumer goods from the lowest bidders in China...what chance will the European and the North American industrial companies have with finding new markets.
Maybe Wisconsin and other armed states of the USA will shoot each other with the millions of handguns and other weapons that stupid and inadequate people feel that they need to survive.
you are either a liar or totally ignorant to the fact that florida CCW citizens are four times less likely to use a firearm in a crime than the average florida citizen.

Do the rules in the USA affect you in any way?

Actually yes, they do.

The greater majority of gun related crimes in Canada involve firearms that have been traced back to the US, usually through smuggling.

But since the greater majority of drug related crimes in the US involved drugs traced back to Canada, I suppose it cancels out.

Oh wait a minute.... drugs don't always cause death or serious injury.... hmmm...

I'm all for people in the US walking around with pistols, rifles, shotguns, SMG's, assault rifles and rubber dildos..... but until that stuff stops crossing into our borders and ending up being involved in crimes in our country, I say we should just bombard the US with tonnes of dope, LSD & ecstasy pills.

Well that article really did bring out the best of the republican minded people....You have to had lived and participated in a really free country before you can honestly claim to have any knowledge of how a country should behave. The USA is the bully of the western world and claims to want to democratise others in their own pattern...and that seems to be at odds to the plans of the countries creators.
The constitution was written by disaffected ex-Brits...of less than stellar education and all...especially the founding members, of a class that actively kept slaves and refused to give up this "right" until the country had to go to war for the changes to be made...someday the states will be free of racists and gun happy ignorant citizens.....By the way...the way they live in the country next door does affect my way of life as it does the Mexicans through the racist policies of the states close to the common border. Keep the borders closed and don't allow oil and water to flow to the USA until they start behaving like citizens of the world rather than hired thugs in combat gear.

While some of what you say makes some sense.... cutting off the US's supply of oil & water in which they depend on greatly from this country will only cause them to invade and take it from us.

And if you don't believe me, just look at the mentality you described above which you believe.

Which then opens up the door for another debate thread about the US invading/attacking Canada..... which becomes just about as productive as this topic generally does.

It is my understanding that most of our grow op industry is an export industry where the usa pays them in harder drugs and firearms.

No they won't invade, they'll use the CIA to try overthrow the government and implement a puppet government which will cater to their needs , like they've done nearly all over the world .....

As for being conservative, most of us are, after our brain stems become fully attached with maturity........it takes someone of some understanding to realize that there are valid viewpoints outside of your own......

While the rest of your post I can not argue with, there are the two above points I'd just like to focus on:

#1 - I wouldn't identify his thinking as "The Canadian Mindset" because that means every Canadian thinks and believes what was said above, which would include yourself.... unless you don't consider yourself Canadian or have a mindset of another nation..... which is a bit conflicting. You generalize Canadians when you say things like the above just as he gneralizes Americans with what he says, which doesn't help, especially when you're generalizing your own country. Sure some people in this nation have what you might call an "Inferiority Complex" or as I call it, "Continually trying to make themselves feel better then those around them"..... as noting someone as feeling or being "inferior" implies that they are, which leads to the assumption that you believe Canada and all Canadians are inferior to the US, which then begs the question...... if you feel that way, why do you still live in Canada?

I personally believe every country has its own benefits and their own problems and thus, no one nation is greater or better then another, otherwise we'd all live under the flag of that nation and no one would put up a fuss.

#2 - Obviously due to continuous Election results and Voting, the greater majority of Canadians are not Conservative thinking or supporting individuals, otherwise the Cons would have received 50% + of the vote, which they didn't....... and to add on top of that, trying to insult the rest of Canadians who don't think Conservative or support your way of thinking by claiming their brains are detached from the rest of their bodies just goes to show the hypocrisy you express when you talk about valid viewpoints outside of your own.

Sorry to say that while I support much of the rest of what you said in your post, you didn't exactly help your point with the above.

Learn to quote properly will you?

And who's whining? I'm merely stating a fact..... and that fact is the greater % of Canadians do support the other parties collectively...... no, they don't support a particular party in its individual form, but all of the other parties that have been supported are not Conservative, but rather Liberal (Liberal & NDP parties)

I didn't discredit the Conservatives election win..... they won Majority in our system of government above any of the other parties, but what Colpy was talking about was that most Canadians are of a Conservative frame of mind, which clearly they are not, or as mentioned before, the Cons would have had 50% + of the vote, which they didn't.

So unless you can somehow refute that, you can stick your "Whining" up your arse with a twist and learn to read what is written.

Ahhh...I most definitely did not say "most Canadians are of a Conservative frame of mind", I said that most of us become (small c)conservative with maturity.......and that I stand by.

Older Canadians are much more apt to be conservative, and vote Conservative than others...........

Additionally, often small c conservatives vote Liberal.........I stand by my contention that the majority of Canadians over say.....50 years of age are conservative in their point of view.

Number one: Fair enough.......although I meant that hatred of all things American is far too prevalent a mindset in Canada, perhaps I did not express myself well.....and I despise those who casually speak of "Canadian values" as if they were universal and accepted as such.

So, mea culpa

Number two.....see above.

Fair enough, I misunderstood your wording the first go-around.

Though I am still not too sure about that older age = conservative view.

I note there is a post from a character called "Eagle Smack"...one of the government sanctioned killers from the USA...Like a bunch of very dangerous little kids with killer toys and no decent upbringing and decency built into there lives...Sent by the military leaders of a few years back to kill and maim in the name of..." keeping the oil for the USA ".
Now they have a decent man as leader of their country...he has scruples and a code that hopefully will disarm the dishonourable members of your "boys club"...the marines...who are they...???
