If any jackass (and you know who you are) ever comes and claims that conservatives are hypocrites, proves that their view of reality or their idea of honesty is greatly flawed.
We are still capitilists aren't we? If it were anyone else's idea you'd say he was living the American dream by finding a way to motivate clean energy and make a damn good buck doing it in a way the people seem to approve of.Maybe not billions.. but...

Carbon offsets are a scam and Gore has made billions promoting them.
That makes no sense at all. If they fly a plane with no gas at all, it wouldn't be carbon neutral, it would be carbon free. Carbon neutral is generally accepted to mean that the activity which generates carbon is accompanied by an equal amount of offsets or sequestration. It's like an accountants ledger, debits and credits. One of the local puddle jumper airlines claims to be carbon neutral because they planted a tree somewhere. When they can fly a plane with no gas they will be carbon neutral and not before.
I think that is the crux of people's complaint about Gore or Suzuki is their success and notoriety not for what they accomplished in the past but how they financially capable of makes the changes need to go green and making us feel ****ty about it.
It ain't cheap but will get cheaper now that Harper killed the EcoEnergy program that is creating ****loads of jobs, adding value to the housing market and giving the govt credit to sell on the carbon credit exchange.
Carbon trading is indeed a scam but currently a scam that could make our govt some serious cha ching. The money invested by grants is easily recovered with the sale of the credits created from retrofitting and gives added value to the home markets. As far as Carbon trading is concerned, what does it accomplish? It increases the cost of doing business and the consequent cost products/services to the public. It does not actually decrease the amount of ghg's produced - just where they are produced.
At night plants release CO2.Will Cap and Trade reduce the total amount of the so-called "harmful" greenhouse gasses (on which plants of all kinds flourish)?
Yup. Schwarzenneger was a hypocrite a while back when he was driving around in one of his 5 Humvees and telling people to get used to $1 a gallon fuel price and if they didn't like it, they should quit using so much fuel anyway because it's bad for the air. I think I read somewhere that he did something about the 8 MPG Humvees fuel consumption. It would be hypocritical if he did nothing. He does something. Whether or not you agree with it, he uses offsets. He advocates their use, as well as many other initiatives.
If he did nothing you would have a point, but that is not the case, so you really have no point. It's a popular meme though.
Are you Sir Joseph Porter? Yes or no? Where is YOUR list?"Still waiting for you to give some examples of conservative hypocrisy Jack."
SirJosephPorter gave a list. Look it up!

Plants do not consciously control how much CO² or O² they release; we can control ours. For those who support the Cap and Trade idea:
Will Cap and Trade reduce the total amount of the so-called "harmful" greenhouse gasses (on which plants of all kinds flourish)?
Or is excess amount of CO2 is only bad if it was produced by people and companies who actually contribute something to the well-being of people?
If people like Suzuki, Gore, and others are hypocrites, it isn't because they preach ecosense and do the opposite, it's because they preach carbon credits are good, and don't subscribe to the idea themselves. I doubt anyone here can prove anything one way or the other.

It's is silly not to utilize the opportunity of income if it is there.
