"Every time the Syrian army is about to take complete control of a major jihadist enclave, at the last moment when victory is in their grasp, the Syrian Army allegedly attacks children with chemical weapons, for no military reason at all. We have been fed this narrative again and again and again."

"Right in the middle of a week-long campaign of opening fire on unarmed protesters angry that their land was took, killing dozens, Israel decides to bomb Assad under the premise that he was violating human rights by using chemical weapons on ISIS terrorists."

If Trump is being squeezed by public opinion to do something ..... it must also be true that public opinion in Russia is telling Putin not to let America attack the friends of Russia.

Russia has had a very deep relationship with Syria for at least 50 years. Syria is like Israel to the U.S..

This is a very dangerous time.

Trump needs to make sure that whatever area he bombs does not have Russian soldiers/families living nearby.

I think that Russia has already got the skies over Syria covered with S-400 missiles and that Trump will need to attack from sea launches.

And, after Israel's latest attack, another bunch of S-400 missile launchers will be brought in by Russia. Perhaps even a few for Lebanon, because Israel violated Lebanon's airspace for the attack.

Syrian troops on alert amid fear of US strike after attack

BEIRUT — Syrian government forces and their allies are on alert and taking precautionary measures at military bases and posts across the country amid fears of a U.S. strike in the aftermath of a chemical weapons attack, Syrian war monitors said Tuesday.
The measures come as President Donald Trump is threatening an imminent military strike against Syria, vowing to respond "forcefully" to Saturday's apparent chemical weapons attack on civilians near Damascus and warning that Russia — or any other nation found to share responsibility — will "pay a price."
Syrian opposition activists said 40 people died in Saturday night's chemical attack in the town of Douma, the last remaining rebel bastion just outside of the Syrian capital, Damascus. The opposition blamed President Bashar Assad's forces for the attack, accusations the government and its Russian backers strongly deny.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that as of Monday night, troops have been on a 72-hour alert and are fortifying their positions. The Observatory's chief Rami Abdurrahman said the alert includes all army positions and bases from the southern province of Sweida all the way to Aleppo province in the north, the Mediterranean coast in the west to Deir el-Zour province in the east, along the Iraqi border.
The Sound and Picture Organization, an activist collective in eastern Syria, said that Iranian fighters and members of Lebanon's Hezbollah group have evacuated their positions in the Boukamal area, near Iraq's border.
A Lebanese politician with close links to the Syrian government confirmed that precautionary measures are being taken throughout Syria. The politician, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about secret military movements, added that the atmosphere and American statements hint to a possible strike "but there are no indications on the ground so far."
The politician said the Syrian government was expecting a limited strike, similar to the one on Shayrat air base last year, referring to last year's U.S. attack on the central air base of Shayrat in the central province of Homs following a chemical weapons attack on northern Syria that Washington blamed on the government.
In Moscow, a senior Russian lawmaker said his country is willing to help arrange a visit this week for experts from the international chemical weapons watchdog to the site of a suspected poison gas attack in Syria.
Yevgeny Serberennikov, from the defense committee at the Federation Council, told the RIA Novosti news agency on Tuesday that Russia is anxious for the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to "finally start carrying out the functions it was created for."

It is absolutely not a matter of “chemical attack”, because Russia warned the world about this staged excuse Jihadists were preparing, weeks before it was announced to the world in Duma. When it comes to human casualties, the US, responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths as a result of the embargo on Iraq (and indeed in many other US “adventures”), clearly has almost zero sensitivity, considering these casualties as collateral damage.

So what can hundreds of tomahawks do against the empty Presidential Palace? Are these going to create a difference on the ground? Will bombing Syrian Army airports and military bases defeat Assad?

No, it will only increase the number of those killed. The Syrian war casualties are close to 400,000 men, women and children. If the number becomes 401 or 405 or 410,000 to achieve……. There is no answer here but one: to slap the face of Putin and make him look weak, a head of state incapable of defending his friends and allies.

-- What if Syria decides to react by bombing Israel with dozens of missiles? Damascus already has an excuse to retaliate against the Israeli violation of its air space this week and the bombing of a military air base at the T4 in rural Homs, killing 8 Syrian and 7 Iranian officers. Iran, at the Syrian government’s request, supports the Syrian Army in its fight against jihadists.

-- What if US destroys the Syrian air force? Not a huge change because Russia overwhelms the sky above Syria and is running the show against the Jihadists. It would be an opportunity for the Syrian Air Force to get more modern jets.

-- What if Russia decides to react and hit back at all sources firing against Syria? What if Russia executes its menace and stands against the US? Are the American people ready to die for a country only few would manage to find on the world map? Are Americans ready to receive their children in plastic bags just because Moscow’s influence in the Levant is increasing and therefore bothering Washington?

Our pleading with Syria has been rewarded with these new photos. The SAA has US Coalition chemical weapons officers in custody; and Russia has told the US, Brits, Israelis, and Saudis that they will have to deal with Damascus.

How long US media and our own Congress can pretend they know nothing about who some of the major terrorist elements are that most are afraid to mention? Their house of cards is crumbling, and “they” will be more dangerous in that situation, as we are talking about some serious crimes here.
