Some people say the nice things I have to say about you don't excuse you or your attitude. That hasn't changed my opinion of you either.
I haven't liked levant from day one. From the first time I read his articles in the western( the newspaper he owned that went broke) He has gotten worse over the years as far as I'm concerned and, in fact, seems to feel he is untouchable since he won at the CHRT.
The difference between the Sun and CBC is founded in where they each get their money for operations.
If the Sun wants to pursue a path that will put them into bankruptcy, then so be it.... The CBC, on the other hand, is wholly responsible to the tax payer and as such, does not enjoy the same opportunities as private outlets

SUN is toast because they didn't get the tax credits they needed or CRTC approval to get a cut of the cable bundle they were lumped into.
The Harper CRTC is favouring CBC.
Lol. I'm not comparing, not saying any one is better or worse. In fact, I didn't even mention CBC. Why is it that any criticism of Sun is automatically defended by "but the CBC"?
In point of fact, I don't watch any broadcast news. I get my news in print form and look at everything I read with as critical an eye as I can possibly have. But despite the myriad of complaints that are levied at the CBC, of which I don't necessarily dispute, Sun News is not some bastion of idealic unbiased news reporting.
Ya don't have to like a 'reporter' or a single on-air personality, or even a networks slant. They all pretty much work the same 'cept the sun is on the right side of things for the most part.

Sorry to say SLM, but you made the initial observation to start. Sun News IS extreme, but that extremity is entirely relative to 'something' and in this case, the opposite extreme is the CBC.
The follow-up to this is that groups like the CBC that are 100% taxpayer funded exist to be middle of the road. In Canada's case, it has morphed into a few small fiefdoms to act as a political tool or an activist agenda for d-bags like Suzuki
Sorry Captain but you're inferring a direct comparison out of my observation where none exists. I've developed a perspective out of continual observation of how the Sun behaves when stating their complaints. I haven't even stated whether or not I think their base complaint has merit or not, simply that the way in which they choose to draw attention to whatever their issue may be comes off as rather whiny.
To me that isn't relevant to this specific discussion. Start a thread on the above and you'll likely find I won't differ too greatly on opinion from yourself regarding the CBC. But irrespective of what I think of the CBC, my observation regarding the Sun News Network stands.
Even the left leaning media in the U.S. showed more solidarity than global in this instance.
