The report concluded it would cost $32.6 trillion over ten years. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan voiced the common conservative response that this was a prohibitively expensive proposal:

A USA Today investigation finds the United States is the "most dangerous place to give birth in the developed world." Every year in the U.S., more than 50,000 mothers are severely injured during or after childbirth and 700 die. USA Today's investigation, "Deadly Deliveries," claims women are dying and suffering life-altering injuries during childbirth because hospitals are not following long-known safety measures.
Maternal death in the United States has been steadily rising. The U.S. now has the highest rate in the developed world. USA Today conducted a four-year investigation into the nation's hospital maternity wards and spoke to several families who lost loved ones and to women who were permanently harmed during their deliveries.
In one example, Ali Lowry had internal bleeding after having a baby by C-section. It took medical staff hours to act on the warning signs, and in that time she nearly bled to death. Ali needed a hysterectomy to stop the bleeding. She and her husband, Shaun, sued Knox Community Hospital in Ohio and settled out of court. The doctor and hospital denied wrongdoing, and Knox Community told CBS News it could not comment on the case due to patient privacy laws.

Socialism, and the solidarity it brings citizens, is in such short supply in the USA that it sounds rather silly to say "socialism is destroying America". What Socialism???

Look to Venezuela to see socialism at work, bring healthy changes to ALL citizens and not simply supporting the investment-profit cycle of corporatists and the Elite Wealthy class. The role of a socialist government is to regulate corporations and prevent abuses of people or environment. We now are seeing the tragic results of NOT having a socialist government in Canada or the USA for many years - global warming, wars for oil, and increasing economic inequality and the social ills that that brings with it [addictions, depression, ill health, etc]. .

Socialism is about reducing the negative efects of having a society that divides citizens from each other ; pitting them against each other economically will certainly have the effect of dividing them socially - look, see, this is what we have.

Well, TB liberalism today isn't what it was many years ago that's for sure. Somewhere along the line, they lost their integrity and are now greedy little sows. You may well believe (and, since I'm a Canadian, I honestly don't know a lot about the Koch brothers, the Rockefellers et al except that they're not nice people and are trying really hard to collapse the Canadian economy) but the Democrats (who I consider the equivalent of our Liberals) are right there with them insofar as greed and corruption (the Clintons are a good example). So nothing to brag about there for sure!


We are fortunate in Canada in that most Conservatives (and even some Liberals) are hard working individuals who are trying to do their best for the country but are often hindered by party politics but that goes for all three parties. (I don't count the "Greens" as they don't count LOL). I mean, how can a party dictate what you are and aren't allowed to believe? The Liberals, for one, do.


But hey, that's just me I guess.

Actually the US Democrats are the equivalent of Canada's Conservatives. The US does not really have a true left wing party of any significance.



As for dictating what you are to believe, that has long been a policy of the religious right, most of whom are conservatives. Liberalism emphasizes the right to believe what you wish and that has been a fundamental part of liberalism since the 18th Century.

Firearms ownership should be mandatory to force all citizens into fulfilling their constitutional duties.

"Civil Rights" and other pansy stuff has got to go. Black criminals should be sold in auctions.

Sarcasm aside, there is a lot of truth in that final line, but I'd make one tiny change...………..Change "black" to "ALL".
