Ever heard of the DEF system? Pushed by environmentalists, adopted by the Europeans, added to diesel systems to make them burn cleaner. Great concept except for the new chemicals being produced, mountains of plastic refuge and higher rate of fuel consumption on heavy trucks. We're talking 2-4 miles less a gallon. That's a fact, check it out. Europe, who led the way on this technology is now abandoning it. What a lot of truckers are doing is having the system removed completely at a cost of around $9000.00, which they recoup in fuel savings in under a year. But hey, it's good for the environment!
Same applies to the carbon tax. How it was being packaged and sold was to fund R&D for alternative fuel sources, but now it's general revenue. Guess you'll have to find a new way to get some R&D, maybe a revenue neutral (ha) green tax, which will inevitably end up being general revenue. I have said all along that I would support a carbon tax if it actually went into R&D, but people like you who claim to be smarter than everyone bend over, because arrogance outweighs common sense.
It's just a new GST. No benefit environmentally, whatsoever.
Perhaps if dumb asses didn't make excuses and held governments, to account like the rest of us, they might actually use the tax for what it was intended. But that would mean admitting you were wrong and we can't have that.
WE need to face the ugly truth- that the LIE-beral carbon crap and trade tax IS being used exactly as they always planned it- to raise more gravy for civil service union Hogs- the ones who so slavishly vote for LIE-berals and keep them in power! The problem is that greedy Hogs have sucked up so much gravy for so many yars and so utterly neglected our national infrastructure that the public has become enraged-that large 55 plus percent of citizens whio never bothered to vote in the past are now threatening to vote in huge numbers and sweep vile selfish LIE-berals into the history books!
Consider: Here is yet another article illustrating how badly LIE-berals have neglected our public transit and other infrastructure- even as they funnel VAST sums of OUR TAX money onto the civil service union gravy train! With some comments of my own in brackets):
Crowding, smoke among issues leading to TTC commuter chaos

A look at the Tuesday commute on the TTC. A number of problems contributed to congestion. Marium Gul/TWITTER
TORONTO — The TTC definitely wasn’t the better way Tuesday morning. Chaos all over the subway system caused huge delays for commuters.
“A number of issues this morning caused crowding to build,” said Toronto Transit Commission spokesman Brad Ross.
(NO KIDDING! For decades now- Ontari-owe politicians have discussed the CRITICAL NEED for a down town subway relief line- but its all earnest talk leading to NOTHING! When Ontari-owe premier Wynne-bag first took office- she publicly swore an oath to Ontari-owe teachers: “that she would do whatever it takes to regain your trust”! “Whatever it takes” means LIE-berals funnelling an EXTRA FIFTY FIVE BILLION DOLLARS into the OSSTF/high school teachers pension fund- already the single largest pension fund in North America- to PAY for teacher votes! With EIGHTEEN MORE provincial unions right behind OSSTF- each with their own greedy deals with shameless vote buying LIE-berals- we cannot afford to let LIE-berals honour those GROSS deals that are so utterly mired in massive conflict of interest!)
(Various TTC riders voiced their opinion of TTC mess below):
Hey @ttchelps, please tell the drivers of the subway (with cars 5482/5483 – just leaving Eglinton stn at 8:05) that announcements over the speakers blaming city hall for delays and packed buses is not the solution either. So unnecessary and unhelpful. #TTC #ttcdelays

(OH but blaming others is classic LIE-beral/civil service union avoidance of responsibility! LIE-berals were still blaming Mike Harris for LIE-beral spending a FULL DECADE after Harris was gone! And after that excuse got laughed out of the room- they turned to accounting methods not taught in any legitimate school of business to make their debts and unbalanced budget look better!)
Among the problems was smoke detected at Eglinton subway station, which delayed the southbound trains.
Commuters took to social media to complain about the delays.
#TTC this morning. Rush hour trip to work is generally 35 mins, 20-ish at regular times. 70 minutes today, with 40 mins spent waiting for a southbound train at Yonge & Bloor. pic.twitter.com/cNTcBDIUuy

August Bourre wrote his 20 minute commute took 70 minutes on Tuesday to get to work.
“Forty minutes spent waiting for a southbound train at Yonge and Bloor,” he tweeted.
Jim Gifford wrote on Twitter it was the “worst commute in a long time.”
“Crushed and pinned on train. Took 10 mins. and hundreds of people to exit train and station at Bloor. Dangerous situation,” Gifford posted.
Worst commute in long time. Waited for 3 buses and 2 trains. Crushed and pinned on train. Took 10 min through hundreds of people to exit train and station at Bloor. Dangerous situation. TTC is NOT the better way. @bradTTC @JohnTory pic.twitter.com/JYLf694bWz

(No! Cash strapped and barely maintained TTC is now the BITTER WAY for tens of thousands trapped in its coils! And what are we to make of the recent news that TTC subway track signals were deliberately sabotaged? Was the vandalism done by garden variety thugs or was it those ISIS thugs- the ones Our idiot Boy Justin tells us will “have a powerful political voice in Canada” - the ones LIE-berals refuse to deport- starting to open up a new terror war front in hope of derailing TTC trains and killing infidels?)
Another TTC failure, this time a dangerous one. People trapped on subway cars, potentially falling off platforms at St. George station. pic.twitter.com/TZ9uEeqv4v

Empty Red Rockets travelling the system didn’t help TTC customer relations.
“I know TTC service was messed up this morning, but a good way to annoy customers is (to) run an empty train through Bloor Yonge station,” Zach Henderson tweeted.
At the Yonge-Bloor station, there was an impromptu protest against Mayor John Tory and Premier Kathleen Wynne .
This is bananas. Bloor Street Subway. Time for that relief line #ttc. pic.twitter.com/EH1ANOHiWc

This morning's commute on the #TTC was not fun. Stuck on the St. Clair West platform for 30 minutes before deciding to take a bus in the opposite direction @CTVToronto @CP24 @CityNews @680NEWS @globalnewsto @TTChelps pic.twitter.com/4w4QIXMMQB

(LIE-beral policy is at odds with public needs! LIE-berals with their “war on cars” are trying to force many more of us onto an aging, already over crowded and unreliable public transit system that cannot handle current loads much less the million more people LIE-beral city planners expect to jam into Toronto!)
Ironically, Tuesday was also a planned Day of Action organized by transit advocated TTCriders who were out at 12 different high-volume TTC locations to get commuters to push for better transit service.
“That (Yonge/Bloor) was not one of our Transit Day of Action locations but transit riders know that Wynne and Tory need to fairly fund the TTC to fix over crowding,” said TTCriders spokesman Shelagh Pizey-Allen.
(“Funding fairness” is loonie leftist speak meaning just throw money at the problem and hope to bury it in cash! WE cannot borrow any more and we cannot pay any more taxes- this is the face of bankruptcy! The only way we can afford any new things is to SHUT DOWN the civil service union Hog gravy train and use the money for important things- and NOT for more Hog gravy- they have crippled us already with their demands and entitlements!)
A coincidence that this happened on the @ttcriders day of action, but overcrowding is a reality every day on the #TTC. We have a great transit system, but we need to invest in it, and treat riders with respect. @JohnTory too often we #CantGetOn https://t.co/GHiZSi5TQv
