Any "Imagination" that is not rooted at least in a distant possibility of reality is a fairy-tale.When any of the idealists here can show me a period in human history that Lennon envisions, I will humbly aquiesce.
.

I don't believe there has ever been such a period in history. BUT, that being said, I have happily for my entire life, been a Christian. And Jesus' teachings tell us that we SHOULD strive for peace and kinship with our fellow man. I guess maybe if you're an atheist (or just don't listen to Christ?) you can just shrug off all those teachings, that ask us to be better, essentially to imagine, and treat people accordingly.

Sorry, it's a premise I have heard over and over again that if you don't accept Christ, Allah into your life you will rot in hell.

That's just crazy cult talk.

Without a doubt, John Lennon (Lenin??) for the "song" he himself presents in his whining, screeching fashion, (vote for most overrated singer, anyone?), IMAGINE.

This piece of idealistic nonsense promotes unrest, disturbance and anarchy, and is totally devoid of any decent human values.

Hey Y.J. - Listen up- I was never a particular fan of the Beatles, but I never had anything against them either, so I don't know a whole lot about John Lennon (it's ignorant to bastardize his name by misspelling it) I do know however that he created a lot of enjoyment for a lot of people, so I would just let it go at that. This is supposed to be an age of tolerance for all decent people.

Paul Mazurkiewicz - Now isn't he a ray of Sunshine?

Just Imagine......a thread staying on topic.;)

I think a lot of current songwriters are overrated. Chad Kroeger(Nickleback) would be one of them. Creating songs that sound all alike? They may be popular songs, but they certainly aren't creative!

Northern Ontario,
One singer songwriter I couldn't stand....maybe, because I was waking up with a hangover at the King George hotel in Cochrane with him practicing his songs in the next room at seven in the morning.
He goes by the name of stomping Tom Connors...that was in the '60s....
Later in the '70s he did one song that I liked....the theme song for the tv show "The Marketplace" which I thought was good, maybe because I heard it every week and got used to it...Dunno??

Northern Ontario,
Oh Yeah;-)......

I told my baby nice-please don't flirt around-
& don't give eyes to other guys it makes my poor heart pound
& as I told her nice please don't make me dread
She winked her eye at another guy & when they left here's what she said
Goodbye Rubberhead so long boob go and fill your innertube
I got got a brand new sugarcube,
So good bye rubberhead so long boob
I phoned my baby twice to say she hurt me bad
& asked her when she's free again to make my poor heart glad
Oh yes I phoned her twice and as with her I pled,
She left me alone on the buzzin bone

With the memory of what she said -
-well I was feelin kinda bad around that time
Well I took some good advice & I met me another girl
& just to walk with her one block it sets my heart awhirl
& when we met my ex well did her face get red
She must have burned at the way I turned my nose up in the air and said:

I think those two were brilliant songwriters but neither could sing worth a damn.

yeah, I agree, but for some reason they sounded good singing their own songs, I guess it is the
heart and feeling they put forward, certainly not the singing talent.

and I chose those two as 'brilliant', not 'overated' as I was suppose to do, I missed
that point, I did it as top rated.

I could never really understand how or why this person got famous in Canada. She's not really that great of a vocalist.

Rita Macneil

Rita MacNeil - As The Circle Continues

Those are fightin' words with my wife, she'd crawl naked through 3 acres of broken glass to hear Rita MacNeil.

Surely not Hank.
