Just as I was getting used to the idea of it passing.

Single-payer health care plan dies in Senate.

The liberals' longtime dream of a government-run health care system for all died Wednesday in the Senate, but Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont vowed it will return when the realization dawns that private insurance companies "are no longer needed."
Sanders, an independent and socialist, said his approach is the only one "which eliminates the hundreds of billions of dollars in waste, administrative costs, bureaucracy and profiteering that is engendered by the private insurance companies." His remarks drew handshakes and even a hug or two from Democrats who had filed into the Senate to hear him.

At this point it doesn't look good for the Democrats. Even with the majority in both houses and the executive office firmly in their control they are floundering.

American Health Care reform..

No matter how you box /rebox it, label it..How big,Or what color the bow is ..It's still the Same B.S.. Mandatory Insurance plan for High Risk Clients/Patients (Seniors and Poor,Sick people) .

Why when it comes to assisting the public on something as valued as health care ,U.S. Rep/politicans are reluctant to fund/ provide it's people with the health care they deserve?..Yet they had no problem throwin $Millions$ and their values out the window for ........Well for what ?...Insurance/Banks/Wars...Just sad..Republicans have lost face..( Maybe a few good ones left..McCain,Arnold.Ah..Ummm,,,)

Well if the plan is so good for the people...why has the Congress once again made themselves exempt from the proposed govt. run healthcare plan?

That really doesn't answer the question and I do not think you have to. Even if there was a public option Congress would make themselves exempt because it is not a good plan. They don't want to be part of the plan they are trying to shove down the countries throat.

That is why Congress passed a law banning OTHER government officials from taking gifts and going on junkets (trips, vacations other wise known as "fact finding missions") to Hawaii, Europe, the Carribean, etc. while exempting themselves from that law.

Politicians should be required to use the lowest form of service the poorest people have in the country in all forms of assistance..

This would ensure that each of us have the basic in all types of services such as
Medical
Dental
Eye care
Food quality
Hospital services

It’s important to get the government healthcare passed no matter how insignificant it is because in American politics it’s all about the amendments.

Eventually the government will take over the healthcare system and give the American people a government healthcare they can be proud of.

It is going to get nasty, if this is true we just might see some sort of censorship or dare I mention that word? (impeachment)

"Twenty senators are demanding an investigation into reports the Obama administration threatened to close Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska if that state's Democratic senator, Ben Nelson, didn't join other Democrats in voting for health-care reform."

What do ammendments have to do with this?

Why don't they just give us the Congressional health care plan they have?

If they went that far heads would actually explode.

The better question, is why don't they just use reconciliation? You elect a majority, a majority want the public option, so why can't the majority get what they want? Weak leadership.

What comes out of the reconciliation process is a crap shoot, but given how far it was diluted just to appease 40 Senators and prevent them from taking turns reading the dictionary during debate of the bill, I think it would have been worth it.

45,000 Americans die every year because of lack of health care. We need to have the same coverage everybody else has.

Any SOB politician who fails to vote for it ought to be impeached and removed from office.

Where will the states send their patients if they adopt universal healthcare?

WHY ONTARIO KEEPS SENDING PATIENTS SOUTH

[FONT=Tahoma,Tahoma][FONT=Tahoma,Tahoma]
LISA PRIEST
From Saturday's Globe and Mail March 1, 2008 at 12:45 AM EST
More than 400 Canadians in the full throes of a heart attack or other cardiac emergency have been sent to the United States because no hospital can provide the lifesaving care they require here.
Most of the heart patients who have been sent south since 2003 typically show up in Ontario hospitals, where they are given clot-busting drugs. If those drugs fail to open their clogged arteries, the scramble to locate angioplasty in the United States begins.
"They rushed me over to Detroit, did the whole closing of the tunnel," said Eric Bialkowski, 47, of the heart attack he had on March 14, 2007, in Windsor, Ont. "It was like Disneyworld customer service."
While other provinces have sent patients out of country - British Columbia has sent 75 pregnant women or their babies to Washington State since February, 2007 - nowhere is the problem as acute as in Ontario.

The problems with the Canadian health care system is that it is being undermined by the international pharmaceutical industry so they can force a privatized system on us like in the US so they can rape us like they do the Americans. The US system is rated 36 0r 37th in the world. France has the best.

Many more Canadians than that die every year for lack of health care, in our country it's just that the initial provider doesn't give a sh*t. It's known as being self-destructive.
