I'm not so much feeding them as throwing scraps of stale bread at their heads.
If they gobble them up, choke and die that's hardly my fault now is it?
I have been giving this 'scandal" a great deal of thought. Until the dawn, nothing! Then, this morning, sitting on the deck with my cup of tea, I saw a flash of light and fell dumbstruck from my chair. Picking myself up, everything was revealed. The Wright-Duffy story is the Christian myth of redemption. Let me explain.
The Duff had his frailties, as do we all, born to sin. He was unsure of where he lived and whether he was working for Senate or Party. Lost, he needed salvation. A prince, by all accounts, sitting at the right hand of the Divine Leader, offered Duff the gift of salvation. $90 000 with no strings attached. All the Duff had to do is accept and he would be saved from an inquiring hell. To his credit, the Duff accepted.
Saved, Duff soldiers on. Unfortunately, the Saviour was sacrificed on Parliament Hill.

His salary, like that of all PMO staffers, is undisclosed. We also must trust he’ll not receive any favour should he return to the private sector, where, as the former managing director of a private-equity firm, he earned a reputation as a financial whiz.
Is all of this possible? Of course, it’s possible. Almost anything’s possible. Some people like to surprise people they’re not all that close to with gifts. Maybe Nigel Wright is the Oprah Winfrey of Ottawa. Some people can and will pay $90,000 just to make a problem go away, and there’s no question that Mr. Duffy’s expense claims, and increasingly Mr. Duffy himself, are a problem for the Conservatives.
People seem to have nice things to say about Nigel Wright, which makes me wonder why he would put our famously polite nation in this awkward position. That Mr. Duffy now sits as an Independent, where he is still on our dime and still voting on bills on our behalf, makes none of these questions go away.

I know how you feel. I probably paid enough income tax this weekend for two welfare cheques or one dinner for a politician in Ottawa. I think they left me enough for a tank of gas if they didn't raise the theft on that in the past week.
