Just because it happens to more or less coincide with what I think.

Watch out. CDNBear will come knocking down your door to call you a shill.

Or am I the only one that gets that privilege, lol

I save that privilege for people who just make stuff up, spin it and post it, to shill for their ideological party.

Try living on the West coast right now, we basically only have millionaires and those trying to save their houses and keep from starving. very few in between. Probably why the whole Island and most of rural BC will be NDP come Monday night.

I agree Grump, as long as the cons and the Libs thought it was just the 2 of them they took advantage of the situation. Now with a real threat emerging from the NDP we are seeing the usual acts and tactics of the power hungry who will do anything to hold on to that power.

More and more people are waking up to the fact that either Harpo or Iggy will just mean more getting screwed in the same old ways for another 4-5 years.

Right and the NDP aren't going to screw us either!

Lets see, he's gonna tax "big business" more so that he can take the money gained to "spread the wealth". Fine. Those businesses then will pass that tax increase to us - the consumer, thus higher costs. So, the consumer can't afford to buy it anymore, so the business has to lay off employees because they're not selling their products - no buyers. Okaaay. So now we have more unemployed. OKaay. Oh wait, he's not finished. He's also going to bring in a carbon tax to tax these same companies...riiighttt! But that's bogus because these credits will be able to be bought and sold and who knows how much and, again, these costs will be passed down to us - the consumers. Riight! Again, prices go up, and the consumer can't afford to purchase whatever gizmo these companies sell so more lay-offs! Okaaay - and the wheels of the bus go round and round too!

So, who's going to suffer? The middle and lower classes, thats who. The rich can afford the price increases; most of us "average joes" cannot.

So you tell me who is "scarier!"

As was stated earlier, I, too, work hard for my money and I feel I pay my fair share of taxes, but it ends there!

I donate what I can to local charities and take care of my family, but my "charity" only goes so far!

That's good for you Bear.

I've stated time and time again that I don't support cap and trade, but you continue to brush that aside as if it doesn't mean anything. What a shill I am for taking the time to actually agree with you on something.

It isn't what you agree or disagree with MF. It's the silly accusations, spin and myths you keep posting about Harper, that makes you a shill.

So what would make me not a shill then?
Objectivity. But like I said before, I knew you were NDP, long long ago. So I won't be holding my breath waiting to see any of it from you. You should note, that when I see the type of spin you call 'objective' in the media, about Iggy or Layton, I tend to dismiss it and/or dispel it. While you embrace it, so long as it puts Harper in a bad light.

What constitutes objectivity?

When it all shakes down Monday night, every party will be within 15 seats of where they are now and as we knew they would be when the stupid election was called. Canada Federal Election 2011 - Election Prediction Project

You should go out and rent yourself a T.V. for tomorrow night as it will be quite interesting to watch. Don't expect any huge changes, enthusiasm is generally short lived. Some smart guy on here recently (was it you?) said they should scrap the party system and all run as independents. Not sure exactly how that would work. Guess you'll be voting for Atamanenko. He seems fairly sensible.
Ha Ha! Atamanenko isn't running this round.
He is replaced by an unknown, Wilks. I'm going with they guy from Invemere with experience as mayor for 9 years who happens to be NDP. Pretty solid guy.

Actually, increasing the corporate income tax means we take some money back from the US treasury. When Flaherty reduced the corporate income tax, it meant that American corporations paid less income tax here in Canada. The result was just a shift in jurisdictions, more went to the US treasury, because American companies get credits for income tax paid here in Canada. Dropping the corporate income tax is a wealth transfer, to the US treasury, for all companies based in the US as well as individuals here in Canada.

So, much of that money will actually just be coming back to Canada.

.

I don't wish to "piss on your parade" Nick, but much to your chagrin I'm predicting more rural ridings will vote Conservative than N.D.P. Contrary to what you think I think most of the population is "in between". People who are starving and losing their houses are in the minority in B.C.

I thought you were in the Southern Interior riding but you must be in Kootenay Columbia, No?

Ya, they shifted the boundaries recently. The dividing line is just south of us.
