It seems to me to be quite simple.

Canada is a nation. Canada's citizens are a privileged group compared to the rest of the world. To join the exclusive club that is Canadians you must jump through certain hoops. You do not get to dictate the rules of the club, because you are not in the club. If you do not want to jump through the hoops, that is fine, please find your paradise elsewhere.

Simple.

Right from the beginning she was out for trouble, if she is not a citizen and refused to remove
the garment mentioned she should have been deported for refusal to comply as a non citizen
The time has come to determine what are customs of a societal groups and what are religious
edicts. After that we should enact one law and here is it

All citizens will obey the law as it is no special treatment such as race, creed and religion.
If your religion is in conflict with the laws of Canada that everyone else has to go by you are
in violation of the law. We are for all intent and purpose not a Christian nation, or Jewish State or a
Muslim Country as per say Its time to understand we are a secular nation that should cooperate
with each other and confront what is not religious motivations such as wearing the Burka its part of
custom not the religion

after speaking to Muslim women and the abuse they have endured, when they arrive, they need to embrace this country for their own freedom, and ditch buddy if he doesn't support that (and many of them don't)

I do not understand what the f*ck they are doing here if they don't embrace the values of equality and freedom. I am tired of it. I have heard every argument every which way and I am sick of tolerating slavery, abuse, denigration. I'm over it. You don't like it here, f*ck off back home. I see immigrants daily, and what they have endured before Canada went in, scooped them up and brought them here, it is close to insanity or worse. Most settle right in, never want to go back and are thrilled for their kids.

Others, a tiny loud percentage...attitude...right out in the classroom...they are NEVER going to be happy here, they are never going to fit in to a harmonious lifestyle. They hate women uncovered and strong...they hate our freedom, they hate what we stand for and they hate us.

It's really simple to me. It never used to be. Now it is.

I bolded the revelent part - and say to it yes, and no.

We're great if they're trying to escape the hell that is their previous home, we're great if we can give them the "freedoms" they want, but cross the line into freedoms that they don't want others to have - women exposed, strong, independent, etc - then we're not worth the dirt on their shoes.

This woman was given an option to privately uncover her face in front of other females and she said no. She chose to say so. In so chosing she chose also to ignore the requirement of the country she wanted to join.

Ma'am, sorry to say but don't let the doorknob hit you in your covered a$$ as you go back where you came from.

I agree, she can go back if she is not happy.

Isn't there a law in canada about hiding our identity? If not there should be.

Soooooooooo, we as a forum group hardly if EVER all agree on an issue. Most seem to agree here. That would indicate to me that there have to be many many other Canadians that feel thus.

I'd say the government regardless of party might want to look into this more deeply.

The woman in the picture is blue eyed. Haven't run across too many blue eyed Pakistanis in my day. Having said that, until our laws specifically state that her extreme Islamic beliefs won't be accommodated, then by default our laws regarding religious freedom and societal tolerance pick up the slack to and like it or not she is in the right, legally speaking.

And don't blame her. She's a goddamned Muslim fanatic from Pakistan. The problem is with us for letting her type immigrate here in the first place which is like coaxing a horse into the house and then being surprised when it breaks things and ****s and pisses all over the floor.

These comments from most here... which I agree with... makes me chuckle when some Canadians say a Liberal or left wing Democrat in the U.S is a far right Canadian.

Hold the line Canada... Hold the line.

Actually most Canadians don't see a left in the United States by our standards Obama
is a still to the right. Here the present conservative party is right wing the Federal Liberals
are in my view right wing liberals at best and the so called social democrats would be
liberals Many Americans see them as socialists but I don't they are left wing liberals
and to prove it they enjoy fighting amongst themselves
We do have to address immigration not to be totally exclusionary but really we are allowing
people to come and live in our society and to do that they must understand our society
They get bent out of shape and threaten people because their view of religion is offended
In an open society a democracy sometimes we even have the right to be offended but we
still have to obey the law

And this is hilarious.

You're right wing DG and Obama and the rest of his liberal Democrats out "left" Canadians any and every day of the week. Your posts drip right wing conservative Tea Party views and yet you still drool over Obama. But again as you've shown year after year in this forum you know ZIP about the U.S and it's politics.

Your last paragraph would even be considered racist down here by U.S liberals. Many of your views would. However you would be applauded by U.S conservatives. Yet loathe the latter group and cheer the former.

I'd love to see your reaction if bus loads of plane loads of immigrants were forced into Kelowna BC.

Canada's voter ID laws would be considered racist. Canada's immigration laws are much stricter than ours.

Obama being a right wing by your standards is laughable at best.

Lebanon is a country of 4.5 million people with about 60,000 registered Canadians living there. For perspective, the USA with 10x our population has only about 2000 citizens living there. Statistically there are more Canadians living in Lebanon than every other non middle eastern country in the world combined and then doubled. Similar stats for Syria etc.

There are no "little Canada" quarters tucked away in Beirut filled with the emigrant families of McDougals, Therriens and Proudfoots seeking a better life whose kids are playing street hockey while the air hangs thick with the aroma of maple, women dress up in yoga pants and old men quietly sip double doubles on park benches while watching porn on their blackberries.

Nope, our wonky liberal laws allow pretty much any non European, Australian or American to passport and citizenship shop their way to free healthcare, direct deposit welfare cheques and a get out of jail card free without having to leave the comfort of their sand dune so regrettably I'm pretty sure we've got you beat on this one.

us lefty Canadians are complicated ;-)

I think as a people we slide more easily along the left right continuum than many other countries... in some issues we lean left, in others we slide along to the right maybe even far right and we are comfortable with that.

At least I have to say that I am.

Canada should do what the US does, have them file tax returns.
