But we're trying to save lives here.

People won't be scrounging the streets looking for guns? Apparently you are unaware of all the illegal gun owners there are.

And as people said... you don't NEED vehicles. Auto transportation has only been around for about 80 years. Humans have been around a lot longer than that wouldn't you agree?

Time to get a job closer I would say. People are dying on the roads due to auto accidents. We must ban autos.

apparantly you are not aware of the availability of jobs in ucluelet and tofino,a very good job like he
has isn't something you throw away, and jobs everywhere are not easy to find, so, no your suggestion
is very unreasonable.
Life can't slow down to the speed it was before automobiles, impossible.

There are exception to everything... For everyone that needs a car to commute, how many don't....
How many use a car to go to the corner store?

I did mention that cars are used many times needlessly in my earlier post, but that is just laziness,
which does fit in to your suggestion that for those reasons, no, they are not needed.

I would almost support more gun control but then I think of the Harper government and his whittling away our freedoms and rights and I think perhaps some should keep their guns to protect us from this government.

.

I am aware of the distances people have to drive to work nowadays. However with the amount of deaths on the road it is time to ban cars. Folks will simply have to move closer to work.

No I completely disagree. The primary use of a vehicle is transportation. The primary use of a gun is to kill.

Yes we are trying to save lives here. First try should be helping prevent cold-blooded mass murders. There is not one excuse for allowing people to own mass murder devices.

If you had a 10 year prison term for scrounging to buy an assault weapon that would put a halt to some of the scrounging in a hurry.

Ok... let's leave cars off the discussion table. Even though they've killed far more people than guns including children.

What about alcohol. There is no need for it. Since we are saving lives here alcohol serves no practical use.

Like the stiff penalties for selling drugs? You could get 20 for dealing drugs. Has that stopped the illegal sale of drugs?

You have to love how on one hand people are asking for the repeal of drug laws and complaining about the prison population but want to create more laws that would make law abiding citizens criminals.

How about jailing all people with mental health issues?

There is a limit to the number of trees I can kill and roads to build within walking distance of home.

People aren't physically addicted to owning killing devices. Do you think women will be prostitutung themselves in exchange for assault rifles? The comparison arguments don't wash.

What does addiction have to do with anything? Not everyone who uses drugs are addicted and not everyone who drinks is addicted. Not all people who drive drunk and kill are alcoholics.

Do you think all prostitutes/call girls exchange services for drugs and alcohol? That is foolish if you think that's the case.

Come on Eagle, you know better. Hookers need cash to buy drugs, not to enhance their desire to bag a deer. Mind altering substances are mind altering.

All women who participate in prostitution are drug addicts? There is another thread here, a brand new one at that, of a $600 an hour Former Olympian who's in the Biz. I highly doubt it is to support a meth habit.

Keep trying

People are addicted to drugs and alcohol. I can't imagine too many will be scrounging through the streets for guns to feed their habit.

Bulshyte....you got two legs...you don't need a vehicle...

Right, Sleepy.

Kreskin doesn't need a gun so no-one else does either. Kreskin can use sticks and rocks to keep meat in my freezer then.

I'd prefer wild game to that chemical-laden and expensive crap from stores, thanks.

We have a bushwhacker that's a weapon of mass destruction. When it's time to do chickens we use it with devastating results. And it beats the hell out of the old weapon of mass destruction (axe).
