I have no problem with policing people who are stoned and driving, pgs. Having done that myself many moons ago, I found that instead of going the legal speed limit, I was actually many kilometers below it and still felt like I was flying along the highway. Learned my lesson then.
That was not really the point . The poi8nt being if you are convicted of stoned driving you will be treated the same if you were convicted of simple possession when trying to enter the states . The point being according to the head drug czar in the RCMP states there is no method of positively determining when and if a person is high . Nor are there any studies regarding motor skills and consumption of marijuana . The lawyers will be having a field day .

Never is a long time, Cliffy. I'd dispute that one!

You'll need proof of something that doesn't happen to refute that point.
:)

I will not be posting at these forums on October 17 and perhaps October 18th too.

Well have fun on your days off.

Impaired and inebriated are TWO Different charges

Impaired is basically for anything besides alcohol that negatively effects your driving safety...guess how they prove that...?
:)
...like they always have.

I agree with you on that point, but then we'll spend it all and then some on lung cancer treatment and all kinds of other things.

Smoking pot helps cure cancer. And alrviates some of the bad effects of chemo.

Evidently, it is a very bad thing.

How can they legalize the drug that causes abnormal psychological reaction and leads to addiction?

It is worse than the alcohol, which is forbidden in both the Torah (the Old Testament) and the Quran.

Certainly, those who drink alcohol and don't mind .. may not object to this cannabis legalization.

Such forbidding includes alcohol and every drug causing drunkenness and addiction.

Marijuanna is not addictive. Unlike many legal prescription drugs.

towns/cities/district all over Vancouver Island are having votes on disallowing pot growing/selling in their jurisdictions.

Its going to take a long time to work this thing out.

Mostly unenforceable once it is legalized. Lots of them are simply setting guidelines on where and who can produce/sell so they can milk the new cash cow.

Victoria is going to have weed sold in weed only stores operated by the liquor people - whoever that is. The government ones I suppose.

They are literally going to create a chain of brick / mortar stores that are only for weed and it will only be sold there.

Its seems just one more expensive and elaborate way to sell something that is already widely sold.

Like the government method of growing all this weed indoors so as to produce a $300 an ounce product - when enough of it could be grown outdoors in a single season to supply every pothead on the planet for life.

It is just heart wrenching to watch the government do anything,

I wonder if their little weed outlet shacks will be shaped like bongs? .... harkening back to the photo developing kiosks of the 60s and 70s?

Opium is used as an analgesic especially in palliative care for terminal illnesses, so it's a medicine too, no?
Yes, I was about to add, dried poppies made into a tea will help with insomnia and mitigate chronic pain. I know a lot of old Doukhobor women who grow poppies for that reason. Doesn't make it any less addictive. And yes, a small percentage of pot smokers become mentally addicted to it but not physically.

Still addictive.
