Liberal phobia and the cause….

I'm "graphically-challenged" (slow dial-up), but if you take your red dot and move it just over to the other side of the centre line and up just a hair, that's where I ended up. According to the chart, I don't come close to anyone famous so now my self-esteem is damaged.

Edit: I just realized my dot landed squarely on "bananas" so I'm really devastated now. :-|

...but you're close to the Banana, & Banana's are good.

That may be true for some conservatives, but not others. Especially the extreme fringe of the conservative party in Canada, or the religious right in USA want the type of government control that I have described here.

Religious right, in the context you use, is an oxymoron. It is just another label, and an obfuscating one at that. They are also left on the political spectrum.

Don't they stop people during the "holiday season?" (I can't say Christmas or we'll get off track)...Like the R.I.D.E. program or whatever it's called...

YEp, and those programs are well advertised in advance in the newspaper and on the radio and T.V. far as I know they look at you ask you if you'Ve had anything to drink and you are on your way- If it saves one person from even an injury, I have no problem with it. I can certainly sympathise with the cops in this endeavour, as I would imagine there would be nothing worse for them to do to have to wake a person up at 3 AM to inform him his son/daughter has been killed in a vehicle accident caused by an impaired driver.

rofl So if there was a god who was all powerful and could turn Canada into a virtual heaven on Earth and perfect in every way, you would not vote for it if it called itself a Conservative? Party hack. Talk about irrational bias. Incredible but extremely funny.

Hey, it's all good fun, Gil, we can all use a few jokes.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

When has Libertarianism worked in practice? I can’t think of a single Libertarian government.

I remember reading a sci fi book a while ago which described Propertarian government, that was an extreme form of Libertarianism. In that, there was absolutely no involvement of government in anything. Roads were owned by private companies, they charged people to use their road. There was no military, if the country was invaded, private citizens would band together, form an army and repel the invaders.

Government did not print money; the value of the money was inherent in the money itself. Thus they had coins of one ounce gold, half an ounce gold, one ounce copper, half an ounce copper etc.

It was a fascinating read, and reading the novel, one could almost believe that it would work. But I haven’t seen any Libertarian government in practice.

Science fiction is mind candy, and libertarian is a label. For lack of a better term, libertarianism may best be demonstrated in Switzerland. It does not mean "no governement control", but liberty, freedom, but still having laws with which all must abide, including government.

You are right on. The easy solution is to take a taxi if you're going out on the town. If you can't afford a taxi, you can't afford the night out anyway. Brainlessly simple. I've seen the consequences of drunk driving a few times too many.

You mean they get to think and do? What a novel concept. We might need some training here before we could implement that one successfully in Canada. Not to mention some serious attitude adjustments.

You don't think religions are opposed to change? lmao Ever heard of Islam?

I know they are, fundamentalism is fundamentalism, doesn't matter whether they are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or whatever. They are still on the left of the political spectrum, though there are those who call them "right". Getting into how religious beliefs should or shouldn't effect legislation will wear out my keyboard, yours too I'm sure.

Sorry, conservatism is a rightie thing, not a leftie thing. Religions are authoritarian right.

I closest to the Dalai Lama, & the Orange. 8O

Neat chart, we use stuff like that in class to illustrate how to arrive at wrong conclusions. It overcomplicates things and actually obfuscates the truth. Graphs and charts like that are just BS and people were paid a lot of money to come up with them. They aren't worth a pinch of coon sh*t. Sorry.

What's not to believe? It isn't astrology. The results are valid in consideration of the questions.
