Yes? In case you may think I'm German, my handle is derived from a Dutch aircraft designer and manufacturer and immigrant to Canada. I'm sure they had no love of them at the time. Russians had a term, and not one of endearment, немецкий, pronounced, sort of, nyemyetski. That term is still in use and in the dictionary for German.

He addressed the wrong poster. It was I who my son calls 'squarehead' because of my German ancestry.
I call him 'FuzzyWuzzy' (who had no hair) because he went bald when in his 30's.

I just read the original post, and I have to say that freedom of religion, freedom of association, freedom of sex, gender equality, etc..........NONE of these will ever be able co exist in an amicable fashion so long as the PC crowd is hung up over not offending people.

In order to have freedom, others must have it too. And, frankly, others having freedom can really offend some people. See the problem here? I do, we need more tolerance.

When we focus on not offending people, we tend to find a solution that involves restricting the freedoms of the offender. Sometimes we will get it right, sometimes we don't. Ultimately, we create a society where everyone has their freedoms restricted because they might offend someone else. WTF does might offend mean?

IMO, if we ever stand a chance at getting things correct, we are going to have to replace large parts of our 'fear of offending' culture with a culture of tolerance.

Until the PC crowd figures this out, they are - imo - politically incorrect.

Quite frankly I doubt that the PC'ers know what human decency even is and if they do they certainly don't show it!!

Mowich was absolutely correct when he said: "Numerous examples of such abuse of political correctness have arisen lately - a good number coming from what should be bastions of free and open debate - our universities. One need look no further than the furor over Professor Peterson though there are many others including the teacher in BC who was recently fired from his position for nothing more than saying he did not support abortion". Where is the decency in that? Again with the hypocrisy.

It amazes me that so-called "intellectuals" are so dumb that they can't see the hypocrisy in anything they say and do. So, since supposedly they're not stupid, it's intentional. That ticks me off! This is what people are getting angry about - the "do as I say people, not as I do" which encompasses a whole lot of crap now-a-days; political correctness including climate change, gender issues etc., etc.

I try to treat others with respect and consider myself a fairly decent human being with faults like everyone else. The exceptions are politicians whose ideologies and ideas do not make any sense. I have no respect for individuals who, for not other reason than power and those ideologies, implement policies that are against the good of the community as a whole; who implement policies that likely lines someone else's pockets while taking it out of the poor and hard working people; who are disingenuous in calling a tax anything else but what it is - a tax.

So, insofar as Political Correctness is concerned, it is about human decency and the lack thereof and there's no confusion at all.

I
Decency?Politics?
Slippery slope,in my case my naiveness was exploited,I was decent and was eaten for supper, plus these individuals, agencies, etc should have had enough decency to not expose me to the dirty ways of politics, political party process's infringe on Constitutional stability and rights, political policies influence process s in a negative manner.
I would have preferred to remain naive, but my curiosity took me to dark places of administrative processs
There was no decency in my informationn auditing experience s
I would have preferred to believe the Supreme Court of Canada was decent, but no,they are all messed up too!
If you are going to play politics it is best to engage as a team player, savages will eat you for supper

Considering it's just a mispronunciation of the latin word "niger", which means "Black"... Hence the countries of Nigeria and Niger, as well as the Niger river. Better change those names, they're too close to the bad word.

Do you get offended by the term "cracker" in reference to White people? Do you at least find it odd that people have such a problem with one epithet but not the other?
I have to admit I do like the term 'white eyes' better than cracker even if it is related to how 'we' look when we are scared sh*tless.

Getting offended is kind of a fad these day. People have a choice to be offended or to laugh or shrug off what they think is offensive.
I have to laugh when I hear people demanding an apology for something that was said. As if saying 'I'm sorry' makes it okay again whether you really are sorry or not.
Saying 'I'm sorry' is what husbands do to get the wife to get off their backs when they don't even know what they did to be sorry for. :)

From the opening post:
Trump was simply being a jerk, with no apologies to anyone.
Is this politically correct or incorrect, this will without doubt offend the u.s. pres in waiting, if unpc should the author not practice what he preaches?

The appalling bit in pc is saudi arabia being welcomed on the un human rights council, saudi arabia and human rights are only synonymous in warped politically correct minds void of human decency.

You can't answer the question, though, can you?
Either can you. Why is one term verboten while the other term seems to be perfectly acceptable?

What do you expect from an organization that made Robert Mugabe their Ambassador of Tourism?

I just want to say this guy is fat. Very fat. Stupidly fat. He's fat and a half. He's his own area code. On a scale of one to ten, he's ten-fat. He's Gott Damn fat! Fatter than Wo Fat and Chin Ho. Ocean liners are tied to him during hurricanes, so they won't get blown out to sea. He's super fat! Fatter than the fattest fat thing! If there was two of him, the earth's orbit would be knocked akimbo. (Akimbo, I like that word.)

He can out-fat the fatty's of Fat Town! If quartered and cooked, he could solve the world hunger problem. Singing...

He's so fat that when I tried to drive around him I had to stop for gas, twice.

Obviously precious little...
The lass, pistachio girl, selling ball park peanuts got fired for suggesting on her free time that americans, germans and brits are soon going to become minorities in their own country yet as you point out mugabe 'welcome to zimbabwe' that professed the only white man you can trust is a dead one gets appointed as global tourism concierge, nuther pc benchmark.

"We want to stand up for white America — we're the backbone of this country, the white working-class people," she said at the time.
Pistachio Girl has been fired from her Citizens Bank Park job
