In that light, here are two things that political correctness is not:
It’s not censorship.
It’s not an infringement on anyone’s First Amendment rights.
Let's Not Confuse Political Correctness With Basic Human Decency | The Huffington Post
Basically just another anti-Trump rant, mf. However, when political correctness is carried the lengths we see today, it is censorship and nothing but censorship. It is one group of people telling a person or another group that they cannot say anything that might in the least hurt their feelings. The problem with that is the 'feelings' they are talking about are so amorphous as to be inexplicable.
Numerous examples of such abuse of political correctness have arisen lately - a good number coming from what should be bastions of free and open debate - our universities. One need look no further than the furor over Professor Peterson though there are many others including the teacher in BC who was recently fired from his position for nothing more than saying he did not support abortion. Neither of those examples are about political correctness they are a direct attack on the ability of persons to speak about issues that should be brought to light and discussed in an open and honest manner. Trouble is that the ability to do so these days is getting harder and harder to accomplish.
