Arafat Jaradat: Palestinian Prisoner Tortured to Death in Israel
Since 2003, around 700 torture complaints went unaddressed

State terrorism is official Israeli policy. Torture and cold-blooded murder define it. Arafat Jaradat is Israel’s latest victim. He died wracked in pain Saturday.
Israel attributed it to cardiac arrest. Shin Bet claimed no detectable health problems during interrogation. Accusations of torture were dismissed. Coverup and denial don’t wash.
Israel was caught red-handed. Shin Bet interrogators tortured him to death. Autopsy evidence confirmed it. Severe upper body bruising, blisters, and blot clots were visible. Jaradat had multiple broken bones in his neck, spine, arms and legs.

Arafat Jaradat: Palestinian Prisoner Tortured to Death in Israel | Global Research

I have a clear conscience since when I see oppression and injustice I am not afraid to speak out. I am the person who would have helped Jews, Slavs, Roma... in Nazi occupied Europe. Jews and Israelis have nothing to fear from me or people like me as I mean no one any harm. I support the right of everyone to live in peace. I recognize the universality of human rights, freedom and justice..

If any Israelis want to leave the war zone and immigrate to Canada, my position is, "Welcome to Canada".

That's just a rehash of the nonsense, lies and hatred you posted yesterday.

Do you know where the final autopsy was conducted yet?

Better yet, do you know why it has been deliberately left out of your news sources? lol.

Hint: That last question was a test to see just how objective and just how much critical thought you are actually capable of doing, lol.

It's obvious no one at this site is buying that lie, so you must be trying to convince yourself.

Good luck...

Amnesty International 2012 Annual Report
Re: Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories

The Israeli authorities continued to blockade the Gaza Strip, prolonging the humanitarian crisis there, and to restrict the movement of Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT). In the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the authorities continued to construct the fence/wall, much of it on Palestinian land, and to expand settlements, breaching international law. They demolished Palestinian homes and other facilities in the West Bank, and homes of Palestinian citizens inside Israel, especially in “unrecognized” villages in the Negev. The Israeli army frequently used excessive, sometimes lethal force against demonstrators in the West Bank and civilians in border areas within the Gaza Strip. Israeli military forces killed 55 civilians in the OPT, including 11 children. Settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank increased, and three Palestinians were killed by Israeli settlers. Israeli settlers and soldiers accused of committing abuses against Palestinians generally escaped accountability. The authorities failed to conduct independent investigations into alleged war crimes by Israeli forces during Operation “Cast Lead” in 2008-2009. The Israeli authorities arrested thousands of West Bank Palestinians. More than 307 were administrative detainees held without charge or trial; others received prison terms following military trials. Israel held more than 4,200 Palestinian prisoners at the end of 2011. Reports of torture and other ill-treatment of detainees continued.

...
Torture and other ill-treatment

Allegations of torture and other ill-treatment, including of children, continued to be reported. Among the most commonly cited methods were beatings, threats to the detainee or their family, sleep deprivation, and being shackled in painful positions for long periods. Confessions allegedly obtained under duress were accepted as evidence in Israeli military courts.

  • Islam Dar Ayyoub, aged 14, was arrested at his home in the West Bank village of al-Nabi Saleh at around 2am on 23 January. Blindfolded and handcuffed, he was transferred by military jeep via the nearby settlement of Halamish to the police station in the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim, where he was interrogated for hours without the presence of a lawyer; he was not allowed to rest, eat, or go to the toilet. Information obtained from him during interrogation was used to incriminate al-Nabi Saleh protest organizer Bassem Tamimi (see below).
  • In February, Gazan engineer Dirar Abu Sisi was forcibly transferred to Israel from Ukraine and held at Shikma Prison, near Ashkelon, where he was denied access to a lawyer for 25 days. In April, he was charged with developing rockets for Hamas’ military wing; the Israeli authorities said he had confessed but his lawyers alleged that his confession had been obtained under torture. He was still held, reportedly in solitary confinement, at the end of the year.

Amnesty International 2011 Annual Report
Re: Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories

A ceasefire between Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups agreed in January 2009 was generally respected. The Israeli army maintained draconian controls on the movement of Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), including a blockade on the Gaza Strip that deepened hardship and virtually imprisoned the entire population of 1.5 million. The Israeli authorities rejected or delayed applications for permits to leave Gaza submitted by hundreds of Palestinians requiring specialist medical treatment; a few died as a result. Most of Gaza’s inhabitants depended on international aid, which was severely hampered by the blockade. In May, Israeli forces killed nine men aboard an aid flotilla in international waters that was aiming to breach the blockade. In the West Bank, the movement of Palestinians was severely curtailed by hundreds of Israeli checkpoints and barriers, and by the 700km fence/wall that Israel continued to build mostly inside the West Bank. There was a substantial increase in the number of demolitions by Israeli authorities of Palestinian homes, water cisterns and other structures in the West Bank, affecting thousands of people. Israeli authorities also destroyed homes in Bedouin villages in the south of Israel. The expansion of illegal Israeli settlements on seized Palestinian land, partially frozen until 26 September, resumed. Israel still did not conduct adequate investigations into alleged war crimes and other serious violations of international law by its forces during Operation “Cast Lead”, the 22-day offensive in Gaza in December 2008/January 2009, during which nearly 1,400 Palestinians, including more than 300 children, were killed. Israeli soldiers and settlers who committed serious abuses against Palestinians, including unlawful killings, assaults and attacks against property, were generally not held to account for their crimes. Israeli military forces killed 33 Palestinian civilians in the OPT, including eight children. Hundreds of Palestinians were arrested and detained by Israeli forces; at least 264 were held without charge or trial under administrative detention orders, some had been held for over two years. Reports of torture and other ill-treatment were frequent, but investigations were rare. Around 6,000 Palestinians remained in Israeli prisons, many after unfair military trials. Israeli conscientious objectors to military service continued to be imprisoned. ...

Torture and other ill-treatment

Consistent allegations of torture and other ill-treatment, including of children, were frequently reported. Among the most commonly cited methods were beatings, threats to the detainee or their family, sleep deprivation, and being subjected to painful stress positions for long periods. Confessions allegedly obtained under duress were accepted as evidence in Israeli military and civilian courts.

  • A.M., a 15-year-old Palestinian from Beit Ummar village near Hebron, was arrested on 26 May, held in Gush Etzion detention centre, interrogated for six days allegedly using torture, then released after he “confessed” to throwing stones. He said security officials attached an electric cable to his genitals and threatened to give him electric shocks. In August, two NGOs, one Palestinian and the other Israeli, filed complaints to the Israeli police and army about his alleged torture. The police complaint was closed on the ground of “insufficient evidence”, while the army was still reviewing the complaint at the end of 2010.

Amnesty International 2010 Annual Report
Re: Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories

Israeli forces committed war crimes and other
serious breaches of international law in the Gaza
Strip during a 22-day military offensive code-named
Operation “Cast Lead” that ended on 18 January.
Among other things, they carried out indiscriminate
and disproportionate attacks against civilians,
targeted and killed medical staff, used Palestinian
civilians as “human shields”, and indiscriminately
fired white phosphorus over densely populated
residential areas. More than 1,380 Palestinians,
including over 330 children and hundreds of other
civilians, were killed. Much of Gaza was razed to the
ground, leaving vital infrastructure destroyed, the
economy in ruins and thousands of Palestinians
homeless.
Israeli forces continued to impose severe
restrictions on the movement of Palestinians in the
Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) throughout
2009, hampering access to essential services and
land. The restrictions included a military blockade of
the Gaza Strip, which effectively imprisoned the
1.5 million residents and resulted in a humanitarian
crisis. Despite this, Israel often stopped
international aid and humanitarian assistance from
entering Gaza. Permission to leave Gaza to receive
medical treatment was denied or delayed for
hundreds of seriously ill Palestinians and at least
28 individuals died while waiting for permission to
travel. Israeli forces continued to forcibly evict
Palestinians, demolish their homes and expropriate
their land in the occupied West Bank, including East
Jerusalem, while allowing Israeli settlements to
expand on illegally confiscated Palestinian land.
Throughout the year, Israeli forces used excessive
and, at times, lethal force against Palestinian
civilians. Allegations of ill-treatment against
Palestinian detainees continued and were rarely
investigated. Hundreds were administratively
detained without charge; others were serving
sentences imposed after unfair military trials. Israeli
soldiers and settlers who committed serious human
rights abuses against Palestinians enjoyed virtual
impunity.

...Torture and other ill-treatment
Torture and other ill-treatment of Palestinians by
the General Security Service (GSS) continued to be
reported. Methods allegedly used included beatings,
sleep deprivation and prolonged periods in stress
positions. Israeli domestic law retains “necessity” as
a possible justification for torture.

You conscience is not clear nor is it clean. We all have guilt. You as mentioned had a Grandmother who hated Jews. Prejudice learned at your Grandmothers knee.

Then pack up your bags and head for Gaza.

More red herrings?

What happened to Jaradat?

Is he yesterday's news already?

With all the angst, claims of objectivity and claims of your ability to think critically, you'd think you would be actually interested in the truth...

I guess in the end your posts really are just driven by hate. When one lie gets refuted, move on and go find more to fuel your hatred.

Tell me again how you aren't just like the bigots we discussed in another thread?

Amnesty International 2009 Annual Report
Re: Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories

Israeli forces launched a military offensive on an unprecedented scale – code-named “Operation Cast Lead” – on 27 December in the Gaza Strip, killing many civilians and destroying homes and other civilian property. Earlier in the year there had been a marked upsurge in killings of civilians and others by both Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) before a ceasefire was agreed in June (see Palestinian Authority entry). Some 70 children were among the 425 Palestinians killed in the first half of the year. In addition to the large-scale destruction of homes and property in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces also destroyed scores of Palestinian homes in the West Bank and in Bedouin villages in the south of Israel. Throughout the year, the Israeli army maintained stringent restrictions on the movement of Palestinians in the OPT, including a blockade on the Gaza Strip, which caused an unprecedented level of humanitarian hardship and virtually imprisoned the entire population of 1.5 million. This was further exacerbated by the Israeli offensive launched on 27 December. Hundreds of patients with serious medical conditions requiring treatment not available in local hospitals were refused passage out of Gaza; several died. Hundreds of students could not travel to their universities abroad because they could not leave Gaza, where many fields of study are not available. Most of Gaza’s inhabitants depended on international aid, but the Israeli blockade hampered the ability of UN agencies to provide assistance and services. In the West Bank the movement of Palestinians was severely curtailed by some 600 Israeli checkpoints and barriers, and by the 700km fence/wall which the Israeli army continued to build mostly inside the West Bank. The expansion of illegal Israeli settlements on seized Palestinian land increased to a level not seen since 2001. Israeli soldiers and settlers who committed serious abuses against Palestinians, including unlawful killings, assaults and attacks against property, enjoyed impunity in most cases. Hundreds of Palestinians were arrested by Israeli forces; reports of torture and other ill-treatment were frequent, but investigations were rare. Some 8,000 Palestinians remained in Israeli prisons, many after unfair military trials.

Torture and other ill-treatment

Reports of torture and other ill-treatment by the Israeli General Security Service (GSS) increased, especially during interrogation of Palestinians suspected of planning or involvement in armed attacks. Methods reported included prolonged tying in painful stress positions, sleep deprivation and threats to harm detainees’ families. Beatings and other ill-treatment of detainees were common during and following arrest and during transfer from one location to another.

Every AI annual report since they started in 1962 mentions Israel torturing and executing Palestinians...

Goober: I would not do anything without my family's permission of course. But I married a woman who shares my ideals regarding freedom and justice. I taught my children to see everyone as equals and to treat every one with respect. We have far more in common with those people who didn't buy the demonizing Nazi propaganda than those who believed it.

Jews today should fear people who irrationally hate Muslims and Arabs. These people aren't that different than those who previously hated the commies and before that the Jews. People who irrationally hate entire groups of people can be easily manipulated into hating any group of people. Our political leaders and MSM would have little difficulty manipulating these people back to hating Jews again.

The only people minorities (like Jews) can truly trust to help them when it counts are those who believe in universal human rights, dignity, freedom and justice.

Do you believe Palestinians have the same rights as you and I? Do you believe they have dignity, freedom or justice? If not? Then you must speak out against their suffering... otherwise you are no better than those who were aware of Jewish suffering under the Nazis and did nothing...

If you believe that a state has the right to abduct, torture and kill people simply because of who they are rather than what they did, then you are no better than the people who worked in the extermination camps....

I've already proven AI's bias.

I taught my children to see everyone as equals and to treat every one with respect.
We're all familiar with what you call equal, two standards, one you hold Muslims to, and then the much higher one you hold Jews to.

We have far more in common with those people who didn't buy the demonizing Nazi propaganda than those who believed it.
You have nothing common with me, lol.

You just proved you bought the demonization nazi propaganda, lock stock and barrel, lol.

Well that counts you out, lol.

Do you believe Palestinians have the same rights as you and I?
Yes, which is why I have a problem with their government.

You on the other hand, falsely blame Israel.

Do you believe they have dignity, freedom or justice?
No, which is why I have a problem with their government.

Goober: I trust Amnesty International to lay bare a nation's human rights problems. Read the above annual reports regarding Israel and its clear that Palestinians are suffering not because of what they did, but because of who they are.

Palestinians living in the Occupied Territories have far more in common with Jews who suffered under the Nazis, than Jews who live a short distance away and enjoy the same rights and freedoms as you and I.

So where do you stand? Do you truly believe in universal human rights, freedom and justice? Or do you believe that Palestinians are getting what they deserve??

Read the AI reports regarding torture. Arafat Jaradat was simply the most recent person tortured to death by Israeli authorities. If CB or anyone has any link which explains how a healthy 30 year old married man, father of two with another kid on the way died after a few days in Israeli custody after telling his lawyer he was being tortured, that conflicts with my belief this man was tortured to death... feel free to share. I've already posted my opinion regarding Jaradat's shocking homicide. I have nothing more to add on that subject, until I see some new information..

The official autopsy, before the Palestinian Authority took possession of the body and mutilated it before conducting a final autopsy so Jew haters like you would spread their lies for them, will be out in two weeks.

I've already posted my opinion regarding Jaradat's shocking homicide.
Ya, we saw your lies and hatred, lol.

You mean you don't know where the final autopsy was conducted and by who?

So much for your critical thought and objectivity.
