Calgary's Transit is the most used system in Canada and works just fine in any weather.

Rail trolleys are shitty in snow and track isn't cheap.

A bus can go anywhere. Most are CNG and burn clean.

Aside from being supplied by Bombardier, the streetcars in Toronto seem to work just fine. We use buses too.

Electric streetcars or trollies are likely the best application of an electric vehicle. No batteries. They can run on power supplied by the grid. No refueling issues. And everywhere they go there is power. And if you can get 50-100 people in a vehicle it is better than 1.

That is also their biggest drawback, they only go where their power grid is.

Yeah, but the solid emissions!...

Ever hear of gravity?

It is. And they can get blocked by a disabled vehicle or an a-s-shole making a left turn. But the TTC changes bus routes once in a blue moon so having fixed streetcar routes is not a big issue.

Vancouver has had them as long as I can remember and they were old then.. Be better if the city produced its own power.

It's -30C and my trusty F150 STX 4X4 with a 5.0 Coyote fires instantly without being plugged in.

2 minutes and the seat and steering wheel are nice and toasty

God bless gasoline and a high amp alternator.

How come you bought a 150 when for a couple of grand more you could have bought a 250?

i think you guys misunderstand how a touring motorcycle is used. it is driven all day. an electric motorcycle with a range of 120miles and a promise of 300 miles is not a suitable replacememt for my bike. i like to go out on a weekend and often come back with 1200 kms on the tripmeter.
it really isn't. The technology is not there yet. In the same way that the gas powered truck did not immediately and completely replace the horse and wagon. The horse and wagon persisted for many years until the truck themselves and the roads and infrastructure were developed to the point where the trucks could deliver to remote places.
