"In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists, and I did not speak up, because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak up, because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak up, because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I did not speak up, because I was not a Catholic. Then they came for me... and by that time, there was no one to speak up for anyone."

In the early 1900's the same words were voiced by the English who were disturbed by the Polish and Ukrainians immigrants showing up by the boatload.
Where would Canada be today without the expertise they brought with them?
Far too many. Those that hate like China does have been around since time began. Yes it happened in Canada. How many of those freaks do you see in the Country today.
To be honest, I wouldn't say so. The more things change, the more they stay the same. But a smaller percentage than 100 years ago.
Streets paved in gold? The worst of immigrants are the ones who come to loot the streets paved in gold then leave when they realize they can't - but use that newly-won citizenship as a shield from behind which they can create trouble abroad and/or mean-mouth the shield
If you can drive through it, it's a navigable waterway - thus Federal. Does the town have proper permits for the dam?To be honest, I wouldn't say so. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

My street has lost it's grade and the catch basins don't work but the city still charges for storm water drainage.
Would it be Anti-Canadian to charge them for storage for the water that sits in puddles in front of my house?
It all depends on how deep the ruts are during spring thaw. I'd have to check with SaskWater the Crown Corp who deals with such things now that they are fully in charge these days.If you can drive through it, it's a navigable waterway - thus Federal. Does the town have proper permits for the dam?

Fish? The green fish that are painted on the sidewalk next to the catch basin that doesn't work? I've dropped a line down through the grating I don't know how many times but I've never caught any green fish, just aspen leaves. Any recommendations for bait or lures? Maybe jigging isn't the right technique? What about the fish that live in there. You may have to bridge over it
