The Difference Between Surveyor Symbols and Crosshairs

Posted by Dana Loesch Jan 9th 2011 at 11:30 pm in Mainstream Media, Palin, media bias | Comments (20)

A friend, Rick Tsa’ara, also walking encyclopedia, posted something too good to pass up on Facebook yesterday:

Enlarged:

And compare:

These are crosshairs:

And a bullseye:

The sort used in the DLC map:

The Freepers were all over it in March.
I think a lot of people owe Sarah Palin an apology.

Well, yeah, what better way is there to depict "killing" someone politically?

Yesterday I caught some talking heads chatting about how her Republican opponent held a political rally at a rifle range during their election campaign.

SO WHAT!!!???

Geez.

In a couple of months, I'll be taking a trip to the deep south west of the USA. (For another reason) I've already checked out the full auto ranges, where you can go shoot Uzis, M-16s, AKs, MP 5s, and the one I want, the Thompson chopper.

It is a little expensive.....be nice to know my money was going to a political cause I agreed with.

Get it straight, there is NOTHING wrong with shooting, in the USA it is a fundamental RIGHT, and so.....why shouldn't a political rally be held at a rifle range as readily as an arena, a church hall, a hotel conference room......or a grocery store??????

You guys keep trying to demonize the use of guns in general, and the Republicans in particular.....all on a false premise, either:

a) The use of firearms is wrong.
The use of firearms is (once again) a constitutional right in the USA, and is so much a part of the culture in the west (it made us free) that gun lingo has saturated the English language.

b) Sara Palin et al set out to encourage violent attacks by there use of language and visual targeting (unlike the saintly Democrats)
Baloney. The "gun sights" are surveyor's marks (on the GOP map, on the Dem map they use targets!!!) The language is completely typical of competition in an American political war.

This aspect of this entire thread is just so much BS.......

The Left's rhetoric of hate and anger blaming Palin, the Right and the Tea Party for this tragedy is starting backfire which means they will rush to hypocrisy because it's what they do best when faced with the truth..
Funny how that happens - from both sides of the fence where the deafness lies....

That is funny. The most hate rhetoric I hear comes from the right wing loons. Besides, this kid looks too young to have the intellectual smarts to formulate a politic preference. That he took a gun and killed people just says he was mentally unbalanced, not right or left.

I guess this depends on what side of the political spectrum your sitting on. I think the hate comes from the extreme of both sides.

Besides, this kid looks too young to have the intellectual smarts to formulate a politic preference.

He was 22, you don't think that is old enough to formulate a political preference. That's not say his preference might not change as he ages, but certainly the world is full of politically active young people.

That he took a gun and killed people just says he was mentally unbalanced, not right or left.

I agree with you here wholeheartedly.

Not true, Obama recently called Republicans the Enemy so if a Republican politician is gunned down then he's to blame just as Palin and the Tea Party are to blame according to the Left's rhetoric.

Rhetoric!!! I voted for Bush and I think the "new" Republican face is nothing but gun-toting, cousin-fukking yokels. (Tea Baggers)

I can't stand the way they are pushing the United States, more racism, less tollerance for minorities..

The new Republican party want to bring back the 50's, I mean that was the Republican hey days.. cold war, 2 tier system for black, hispanics, gays with white, rich, republicans at the top..

I live here in the USA and run all 48 states as a trucker, I hear and see what is going on here.. you're up north of the 49th sheltered by your social programs, multiculturalism, and the language police (Human Right Commission).

Don't begin to tell me that everything is as usual in the United States... right now Canada has a bulls eye on it because it so happens all of the USA's oil is under Canadian soil, same as Iraq and also Iran.

Ya'll should be happy that Obama is President, because the day you get a Tea Bagger in there... oh Canada, bend over and take it in the ass...

Well.. Americans, do you still think that everyone should have the right to bear arms??

hmmm???

how many more of these do you need to have occur before someone finally says "you know, I think we need to change the constitution.."

What have we changed? Quick wikipedia search.

The St. Pius X High School shooting was a school shooting that occurred on October 27, 1975, at St. Pius X High School in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Robert Poulin, an 18-year-old St. Pius student, opened fire on his classmates with a shotgun killing one and wounding five before turning the gun on himself and committing suicide. Poulin had raped and stabbed his 17-year-old friend Kim Rabot to death prior to the incident. A book entitled Rape of a Normal Mind was written about the incident.

^ The École Polytechnique Massacre, also known as the Montreal Massacre, occurred on December 6, 1989, at the École Polytechnique in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Twenty-five year-old Marc Lépine, armed with a legally obtained semi-automatic rifle and a hunting knife, shot twenty-eight people, killing fourteen (all of them women) and injuring the other fourteen before killing himself.
^ The Concordia University massacre was a school shooting on August 24, 1992, that resulted in the deaths of four people at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The shooter was Dr. Valery Fabrikant, a former Associate Professor of mechanical engineering at Concordia and a colleague of the slain men.
^ The W. R. Myers High School shooting occurred on April 28, 1999, at W. R. Myers High School in Taber, Alberta, Canada, when a 14-year-old walked into his school and randomly shot at three students, killing Jason Lang and injuring another. One dead, one wounded in Alberta school shooting, cbc.ca, November 10, 1999. This shooting took place only eight days after the Columbine High School Massacre, and is widely believed to have been a copycat crime.
^ The Dawson College shooting occurred on September 13, 2006, at Dawson College, a CEGEP in Westmount near downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The perpetrator, Kimveer Gill, began shooting outside the de Maisonneuve Boulevard entrance to the school, and moved towards the atrium by the cafeteria on the main floor. "The Montreal Killer Was a Death-Obsessed Goth".

Let's make Goth illegal.

You can never stop evil-doers , whether individuals or governments, from obtaining arms. Witness Dawson College, Polytechnique, Taber Alberta, Mayerthorpe...........

Too bad some of the decent citizens at the meeting were not exercising their rights.

I voted for Bush to, twice and it's the Left who took the rhetoric to an all new low during his 8 years and continue to do so even with Obama in office. As for being thankful Obama's in charge? Please North America is screwed since Iran is placing medium range missiles in Venezulea..

Best political ad of 2010. Imagine how the leftard assholes would be screaming if Palin had made the ad.
If Palin made an ad like that it would have been a meltdown from the Left on a Chernobyl scale.

Every time there is a catastrophe like this .. the left tries to take advantage of it politicaly as you can see when the sheriff first spoke on TV and it kept going in the left leaning media.
You would think they would learn....but no...(pardon the pun);-)....they keep shooting themselves in the foot.
