Today someone was at my house griping about “bullshit climate change”, making fun of the protestors & calling it all fake. I stepped into the hallway and smiled. Imagine if he’d heard my songs, surely he’d hate them I smiled (recalling my time in the Arctic seeing the effects with my own eyes) as he lectured me about how earth is on it’s natural course. And I smiled at the framed photo of Dr. Jane Goodall and I over his shoulder as he made fun of Greta Thunberg. I smiled because when you resort to mocking children for promoting science, it means you’ve already lost. You have no argument. You’re on the ropes. And I LOVE that this brilliant little girl has them all running scared. I smiled and let him ramble on until he simply ran out of facts. I smiled because I was witnessing change!
I sleep well knowing these selfish dinosaurs will soon be gone; replaced by a diverse generation of open-minded forward thinking young people who will seize control, rebuild & live differently. History will remember the cowardliness and selfishness of those who tried to block the door during this critical time in Earth’s history. And they won’t be missed. No statues will be erected. They will be forgotten. How I wish I could be around to see the glorious transformation and live in a new healthy world, but I do feel joy knowing how it will all end. Tick Tock. For those of you terrified of change, holding us back, and attacking our children. Goldman Sachs released a 34-page analysis of the impact of climate change. And the results are terrifying.

  • A Goldman Sachs report on the impact of climate change on cities across the world makes for grim reading.
  • Rising temperatures would lead to changing disease patterns, more intense and longer-lasting heatwaves, more destructive weather events, and pressure on the availability and quality of water for drinking and agriculture.
  • Major cities were also highlighted at risk of flooding with parts of New York, Tokyo, and Lagos all at risk of being partially submerged.
Goldman Sachs released a report on the effect of climate change on cities around the world and the results made for grim reading.
The bank's Global Markets Institute, led by Amanda Hindlian, warned of "significant" potential risks to the world's largest cities, which are especially vulnerable to more frequent storms, higher temperatures, rising sea levels, and storm surges.
Cities generate about 80% of global GDP and are home to more than half of the world's population, a share that Goldman says, citing the United Nations, is projected to reach two-thirds by 2050. About 40% of the global population lives within 100 kilometers of a coast, it says, and 1 in 10 live in areas less than 10 meters above sea level.
Goldman highlighted three cities which would be subject to those storm surges and in the future could face harmful flooding — New York, Tokyo, and Lagos. Miami, Alexandria, Dhaka, and Shanghai face major flood risks due to being less than 11 meters above sea level.

Terrorism is, in the broadest sense, the use of intentional violence, generally against civilians, for political purposes
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism

That would be the effers manipulating the precious metals markets and commiting regular bank fraud on everyone, and trying to run a coup on trump and the American people and trying to subjugate the people of the whole world?

When the Corporate world is lobbying for your money to "Save the Planet" and you support it, it's definetly bullshit.

They knew full well that the heavy SO2 (sulphur dioxide) cuts of the late 70s early 80's would create a temporary temperature spike. It did and it has levelled off. Big Oil made a killing off of SO2 Cap and Trade. Why do you think they want it back and carbon taxes?

If all fossil fuel emissions stopped tomorrow temperature will spike for a decade then plummet like a stone.

SO2 is the anti-greenhouse gas and it's still a big chunk of emissions.

You hate her.
Oh, do you hate her.
This 16-year-old kid.
You hate her. Because you can't understand her. And that makes you afraid. And so you have to make her into a monster.
Most of all, you hate her because she's from the future.
That's right, the future.
That's the part that really gets you. Right there.
See? You're that guy. Privileged. Entitled. Spoiled. You're the guy who throws your trash out the window into somebody else's front yard and drives away without slowing down. Without a second thought.
Somebody will pick it up.
Somebody. Not you.
Yep, that's you. Leaving your garbage for somebody else.
Yeah, that's you. That's how you see climate change. A mess, for somebody else to clean up. The future's problem. Somebody. Not you.
You figured you'd be dead, right?
Yeah, you'd be dead by the time the bill came due and you wouldn't have to pay.
You were going to stiff the future for the check.
Except, here she is.
The future. In your face. Bold. Brash. Pigtailed and pissed off.
You threw your trash out the window into her front yard and she caught you, got your license plate number and tracked you down. Here she is, with your garbage, demanding that you clean it up.
And you're not ashamed. No.
You're not embarrassed.
Because you don't have that much self-awareness, that much self-respect.
No, you're MAD. ****ing kid. How dare she rub your nose in what a selfish son of a bitch you are, right?
THAT's what you're mad about.
That you got caught.
You thought you'd never be held to account. You thought the future would never show up on your doorstep. You were gonna escape. Ha ha! Your problem, bitches!
But here she is.
Demanding you pay your own check. And boy oh boy, does that make you mad.
But that's not why you hate her.
No, you hate her because SHE has the courage to stand up when others won't.
You hate her because she has the guts to face down the entire world without flinching.
You hate her, because you know she's right.
Most of all, you hate her because she's from the future and she's fearless.
She's fearless.
And you aren't. - Jim Wright

Like I said Western farmers are on suicide watch, GW isn't happening fast enough /s

APAS president urges farmers to ‘talk to people’ during stressful, late harvest

Todd Lewis is one of the Saskatchewan producers dealing with the frustration and stress of a late 2019 harvest.
His farm roughly 35 kilometres south of Regina saw thunderstorms on Wednesday, forcing harvest to come to a halt. Rain kept him out of the field on Thursday and the forecast doesn’t look promising for the following few days.

Saskatchewan Agriculture’s crop report said 39 per cent of this year’s crop is in the bin, which is far behind the five-year average of 62 per cent.
“There’s such a large area that hasn’t been combined,” said Lewis, who is also the president of the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS).
With each passing day, producers’ stress levels increase, he said.
He encouraged family members, friends and neighbours to recognize the signs of deteriorating mental health. Farmers can feel isolated due to geography, but also because of long hours in a solitary environment like the inside of a combine, he said.
“Some people get into the situation where they feel entrapped and it’s not going to get any better,” Lewis said.

It’s been a particularly challenging year for farmers after one of the driest springs on record hurt crop maturation. Now the opposite problem – wet weather – is delaying harvest.
“Talk to people. There’s lots of help out there,” the APAS president said.
Calls to Saskatchewan Farm Stress Line spiked in the spring. While call numbers aren’t available for the current fiscal quarter, weather is expected to weigh on the mental health of the average farmer.
“He’s the CEO of a big corporation – his own farm – so he’s having to make a lot of difficult decisions,” said John McFadyen, executive director of Mobile Crisis Services, which operates the stress line.
Those difficult decisions, McFadyen said, include determining when to harvest crops or how to deal with extra expenses like grain drying.

During the 2018-19 fiscal year, the Farm Stress Line received just over 750 calls – more than twice the number of calls from the year before.
The Farm Stress Line operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The confidential, toll-free line is 1-800-667-4442.

No need to get all wound up and excited - she's likely right about a few things and wrong about many, she's still in the learning mode and still has a lot to learn about life! It's all just part of growing up.
