But our carbon is bad. Third world carbon is good. Ask flossy.

Oh there are better sources than him, just ask any of the NS premiers of the last two decades. Cape Breton Coal = bad, Venezuela coal = good, more expensive and from a autocratic dictatorship, and has to be shipped by bunker fuelled cargo ships thousands of miles, but good just the same.

We have one of the highest per capita emissions in the world.

Trudeau made the right moves in this last month. He was able to get a federal price on carbon and also secured a pipeline in his first year when that sorry excuse for a helmet could do neither in 8 years.

We live in the COLDEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. Jesus. With a widely spaced population. And we are fortunate enough to have some of the largest oil reserves in the world.

Of course we have the largest emissions in the world per capita, any dimwit would expect that.

It is no reason to damage our economy and slam huge new taxes on our people, especially when those taxes are going to be incredibly tough on the working poor and the lower middle class.

But your ****ing brain-dead Hero, Saint Justin of the Puffed Up Trust Fund, he of the silver-spoon birth, Moron of all Morons, Leader of the Entitlement Party, Dispenser of Vast Moving Allowances, doesn't have the IQ to understand the simplest of things.

Tell me again how the Liberal gov't is helping "middle class" Canadians?

Please....I haven't had a laugh in a few hours.

There are colder places that have lower emissions, so just sit down and come back when you're ready to leave the kiddy table.

Canada just did something (else) awesome that the US should copy

(CNN)Nearly everyone who studies climate change policy agrees on one thing: To fix this monster of a problem, governments need to put a price on dangerous carbon pollution.

Carbon pricing can take a few forms, and it's not a cure-all, to be sure.

But it is generally considered by climate wonks to be the cheap-but-effective "holy grail."

That's why the world should applaud Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's decision this week to implement carbon pricing across that country. It's a move the United States should copy, too.

It's not as cute or heartwarming as when Trudeau welcomed those refugees, perhaps.
But it should be seen as just as noteworthy.

First of all, we are not the worst emitter per capita in the world, we're not even close. OK, so I'm a dimwit, but I looked it up.

Per Capita Carbon Emissions Data By Country - COTAP.org - Carbon Offsets To Alleviate Poverty

Secondly, there are three places on earth colder than Canada, all of whom have lower emissions than Canada. let's compare their per capita GDP according to the IMF. (in US dollars)

Canada: $45,553 (no 21)

Russia: $25,411 (no 48

Greenland, not listed as it is a possession of Denmark, and Antartica, not listed because penquins don't have a GDP.

Which of those places would you consider an example for Canada to follow?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)_per_capita

In addition, the reading I've done seems to indicate that carbon will not be significantly reduced by any carbon price less than $200 per ton.

Right.

Meanwhile, my family income next year (my wife and I, I retire in December) will be $35,000 net. From that I can now deduct a couple of thousand per year, growing over time.

In other words, the idiot you guys elected is going to significantly lower my standard of living, damage the Canadian economy, in a totally ineffective campaign to lower carbon emission in a country that emits 1.65% of the world's total.

**** Trudeau.

The man is a total moron, without principle, without intellect, without a point.

Mckenna is right about one thing. This is about the future of our kids and grandkids. What baffles me is whay she is trying to destroy their future.

Because it is not her kids or grandkids that will be affected. Her nest will be nicely feathered and warm. Libs never pass laws when they themselves will be burdened.

You are such a typical Liberal.

I give facts, you give me bull****.

Equal parts ignorance and arrogance, and nothing else.

The essence of the "progressive".

And a troll

Whoops PM Trudeau calls carbon price a tax to great amusement of opposition MPs lol #cdnpoli #QP

Of course it is a tax. The power to tax is the only reason the Feds have the right to get involved in this.

Livestock that we consume or make into pets challenges our canuck fossil fuel escapades, clearing land for pastures and feed crops destroys natural carbon sinks and adds monsanto pollutants.
Trudowe if truly serious about ice melt would limit baked beans to 2 servings per person per month, woo china with a really big rice contract, cut ontario tomato prices in half and legislate meat a four letter word. Sounds silly but as effective as jts' plan maybe even more effective but whose gonna give up on pork n' beans just to avoid a fossil fuel sin tax.

Yup Iceland has lower emissions and they even heat thermally . But can we count the emissions from their volcanoes ?

I planned on retiring 5 years ago, and now am planning on having to go the entire distance, and then some. I'm on the freedom 95 plan. Thanx Justin and Rachel. I thought the move from NS to AB would be a big help, and no doubt it was in a way, But libs like to throw a drowning man both ends of the rope.

I doubt that. Most canadian coal miners are mining metallurgical coal. It is used for steel production. Very low ash content.

Its not just a scam, it is an ideology, (scammers know they are hosing you, ideologists justify it). And no, Cape Breton coal miners are like moose, they never move more than 5 miles from home.
