We have one of the highest per capita emissions in the world.

Our emissions are irrelevant. If every Canadian died today, the global emissions would be relatively unchanged and global warming would continue. How had the carbon tax in BC (you know...the one you have called very effective) changed this reality.

Global warming is not caused by humans.

Yes humans don't cause global warming.

Humans on a globe cause global warming.

Probably don't wanna marry that analogy, mentalfloss. Anybody that knows anything about tobacco and health knows that tobacco is the #2 contributing factor (not cause) of lung cancer.

#1 is genetics.

So you're pushing an analogy that really says humans are a "cause" of global warming, but not the primary cause.

That is debatable. MF's position is it does. Those that have argued for the carbon tax believe it does. MF claims the carbon tax is effective. I'm just trying to get clarification. My understanding is that global warming continues.

To me, this is akin to having a gun violence problem in the US and having Medicine Hat passing a law creating a 100℅ tax on ammunition sold in the municipality. Its nice to pat yourself on the back and tell yourself you're making a difference but any objective individual knows better.

There are a number of influences on climate, both human and natural.

With the information we have available to us right now, the most affective one is anthropogenic.

Interesting point above...are emissions produced abroad from fuel sourced in Canada attributed to Canada or the emitting country? Is there any recognition given to us as a GHG enabler?

Here's the way I look at it. The danger of global warming's shown in the "hockey stick" graph.

Hockey stick? That makes the whole thing Canada's fault.

Well we sure seem to be the only ones trying to stop it , even if it kills us .

Not a bad tactic. It'll reduce the amount of carbon y'all exhale.

Wait a minute. I thought Obama's efforts to reduce carbon emissions was one of the reasons y'all hate him. Now you say you're the only ones trying to stop it?

Interesting.

Don't talk about climate change like a hoser.

It's only 99.9 in Prince George . Those royals know how to spoil their namesakes .

It looked like it was $1.03 on highway 2 outside Airdrie this morning, hmmm, it was only $.89 last time I filled up, and we don't have a new tax added yet, WTF?

Montréal have water treatment since many décades. The "big flush" was mandatory for conduite maintenance.
Exactly the same thing as Toronto did in the past also... no later than 2013 because of an "over flow".

Halifax got a water treatment only in 2008. Up to this year, they flush everything in the water.

Winnipeg have a problem with their water treatment since 2004 and then... they flush it also. The problem is supposed to be fixed in 2017.

Victoria flush 130 millions of liter per days (44,5 billions of liters per year) It's supposed to be fixed in 2020.

it is what it is

Winnipeg, and Manitoba for that matter haven't protested the pipeline proposal, It is the smugness of Montreal and Vancouver in their position that is galling. Sure sh!t happens, but don't point at others' sh!t and say your own doesn't stink, It's the glass houses and throwing stones idea.
