Similarly, the war over the "holy" land. I don't get it. It is a strip of dirt in an inhospitable part of the world. People that look the same kill each other because their parents taught them the others believe in the wrong imaginary friend. The only important difference being that the most powerful military in the world protects one side from any sort of international culpability, right or wrong.

.

To be quite honest I haven't paid any attentoin to what goes on in Israel/Palestine, because I'm not really all that interested. 40 years ago the Israelis were the good guys and the Palestinians were a bunch of real bastards. That's the extent of my knowledge about it.

I have met a number of Israelis. Their opinions vary from disgust at the way the politicians exploit emotional tensions to considering Palestinians to be subhuman. I met some Israelis who managed to escape mandatory service for various reasons. Did you know if your parent is from Israel but you were born and live elsewhere, they may demand you go to Israel to serve in the army? Many countries will give you two passports simply because having gone to Israel, you will not be allowed into Saudi Arabia.

Given their economic situation, I am not surprised that I have not met a Palestinian.

That is pretty much all I can say that I "know" as all else was hearsay, even if it is coming from a paper.

I see nothing in Colpy's link specifically attributing Islam to rising antisemitism in France. In fact, Colpy's referenced link also made this claim:

..While anti-Semitic attacks have been on the increase in France so too has the number of Islamophobic incidents, with swastikas and other anti-Islam graffiti painted on mosques in recent weeks. France's Muslim organisations are also calling on the government to do more to stop the rise in Islamophobic attacks...

I'm not surprised considering how Islamophobes attempt to link every crime ever committed by a Muslim (and in this case likely a few crimes not even committed by Muslims) to Islam. When a Christian or a Jew commits a crime or some other heinous act, I doubt they would also a attribute those actions to their religion. Apparently only Muslims are so irrational and intolerant as to not be able to use common sense, like the rest of us.

While it appears that some recent antisemitic acts in France may be inspired by the actions of a crazy cold blooded killer who happens to be Muslim, this mass murderer does not represent Islam. Most Muslim organizations have condemned this crazy person's actions with statements similar to this one:

...Earlier this morning, French authorities identified the suspect believed to have killed seven people in France over the past 10 days, including three children. The alleged shooter has been identified as Mohammed Merah by French media outlets. He is a self-proclaimed al-Qaeda member and has had a long criminal and extremist record, including an arrest for possible terrorist-related activities in Afghanistan. “MPAC condemns these attacks in the strongest terms possible and is relieved that this criminal is no longer able to cause fear on the streets of France,” said Salam Al-Marayati, MPAC President. “We offer our condolences to the families victimized by this horrific act and call upon the people of France to come together and not allow their national resilience to be impacted by these acts of terror.”

Not if Colpy and other Islamaphobes have their way.

Funny how Islamaphobes can see a link between the actions of an individual crazed gun man and an entire religion, yet can't see the link between the actions of the Oslo mass murderer and rising Islamophobia as promoted by many posts in this Islamaphobic thread:

... even though the Oslo mass murderer repeatedly referenced the same Islamaphobic hate sites in his manifesto as referenced repeatedly in this Islamophobic thread. Recognize any bolded names or websites?

...As Norway mourns the loss of at least 76 of its citizens in Friday's bombing of government buildings in Oslo and mass shootings at a Labour Party youth camp, attention here has focused on the US bloggers and groups whose Islamophobic message appears to have fuelled the alleged perpetrator's murderous rage... ...Breivik is clearly a product of this predominantly web-based community of anti-Muslim, anti-government and anti-immigration bloggers, writers and activists... ...Among other sources cited by the manifesto, the "Jihad Watch" blog and its author, Robert Spencer, is cited no less than 162 times, while Daniel Pipes and his Middle East Forum (MEF) gets 16 mentions, according to a tally by the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank here. Another blogger, Pamela Geller, and her "Atlas Shrugs" blog is cited 12 times in the manifesto, while the Center for Security Policy (CSP), its president, Frank Gaffney, and CSP's senior fellow for Middle Eastern Affairs, Caroline Glick, appear a total of eight times....

European antisemitism has been around for centuries before Zionism and the existence of the state of Israel. For most of history, Jews were safer and treated more fairly in Arab and Muslim majority countries than their European counterparts.

Likely a good portion of rising antisemitism in Europe and across the Muslim and Arab world is a result of demonizing antisemitic propaganda falsely attributing the Zionist State of Israel's ethnic cleansing policies, war crimes and crimes against humanity to Judaism. Zionism is not Judaism, and I feel sorry for Jews who feel their religion has been hijacked against their will to justify war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated against innocent Palestinians who had the misfortune of living on land Zionists believe was promised to Jews by God.

Judaism is no more responsible for the actions of individuals Jewish criminals and mass murderers than Islam is responsible for the actions of individual Muslim criminals and mass murderers.

However, irrational religious based fear and hate and rising religious intolerance is a direct consequence of demonizing antisemitic and Islamaphobic propaganda which attempts to link the actions of individuals to entire religious groups.

..Anti-Muslim hate crimes soared by 50% in 2010, skyrocketing over 2009 levels in a year marked by the incendiary rhetoric of Islam-bashing politicians and activists, especially over the so-called “Ground Zero Mosque” in New York City. Although the national statistics compiled by the FBI each year are known to vastly understate the real level of hate crime, they do offer telling indications of some trends. The latest statistics, showing a jump from 107 anti-Muslim hate crimes in 2009 to 160 in 2010, seem to reflect the consequences of a rise in anti-Muslim rhetoric from groups like Stop Islamization of America...

...and I know your comments rarely add relevant information to a discussion. Mostly you come here to crap on other people's posts.... your last two posts for example.

Or this post at the beginning of another thread:

Holy crap. Again?

Despite your and CB's best efforts to ridicule others in an attempt to shut down a discussion I started before it began, nearly thirty people voted in that thread and the post count is greater than 160.

This forum should be big enough to accommodate all opinions, not just the ones you share.

On a Vancouver Forum, there are a few Muslim posters who like to post about how Islam is going to take over the west.
This is an example of one post by a poster who calls himself Extralegs2000

When Islam appears, Christianity disappears!
Islam is the only religion and ideology that matters. The others don't count.
It doesn't matter what you think; because Islam defines everything. Islam has something to say on every subject. Islam has at least two things to say on everything: One of them you will like, and the other you will most likely not like.
Islam defines Christianity.
The Qur'an clearly states that the Gospels are corrupted and unfit for human guidance; that Jesus was not God or the Son of God; that he was not crucified, and that he was not part of a Trinity. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. And wrong.
Now, if you believe that, then you and Islam are on the same track.
But if you DON'T believe it, then you are mis-guided, and you have gone astray. Then you are an Unbeliever, an Infidel, a Kaffir.

Well, that Muslim is wrong... at least according to other religions who also believe they are the one true faith...

The Catholic Church declared in the Fourth Lateran Council that: "There is one universal Church of the faithful, outside of which there is absolutely no salvation",

The Orthodox Church has identified itself as the "one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church" in, for instance, synods held in 1836 and 1838 and in its correspondence with Pope Pius IX and Pope Leo XIII.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) or "Mormons" believe that Joseph Smith was chosen to restore the original organization established by Jesus, which ceased to exist shortly after the end of the apostolic age (see the Great Apostasy in Mormonism), now "in the fulness of time", rather than to reform the church.

Muslims believe that God is absolutely singular and absolutely transcendent, the doctrine of tawhid.[21] Muslims also believe that Islam is the original and primordial faith, or fitrah, that was revealed at many times and places before, including through, by co-option, the prophets of other religions, including Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and 'Isa (Jesus).[22] Muslims maintain that previous messages and revelations such the Bible and the Gospel were revealed for a specific time period and specific people and have become corrupted over time, and no longer remain 100% authentic viable revelation[23][24][25][26][27][28] but consider the Qur'an to be both unaltered and the final revelation from God.

Jews believe that the God of Abraham is the one true God. The Jews believe the God of Abraham entered into a special relationship with the ancient Israelites, marking them as his Chosen People, giving them a mission to spread the concept of monotheism.

Swastika's aren't anti Islamic. Swastika's and Islam go hand in hand.

Sure I get your mind set. You believe like the person who graffiti'd the Mosque that:

Islam=Swasika=Nazi

IMO, the swastika is a simple enough shape, that it was discovered independently by many people, in many places and used for many purposes and has many meanings.
Swastika – in the "Vinca script" 6000-7000 BC | Alex Imreh

...and that its now used by Islamphobes to associate Muslims with crimes committed by Europeans against Jews.

Posted on the Page 53 of the "I irrationally hate Muslims" thread.
