MHZA new low for you, less than a year after operation 'cast lead' in which 1400 citizens of Gaza were mowed down from the sky, again, for the record, let me read your reason(s) for total support..

Gaza is even outside the current borders of the land Israel is currently claiming/occupying. Have to wait and see how the courts rule. Seems to me once the actual trials started they went pretty fast from guilty to execution of sentence.Do you have the numbers for civilian deaths in Iran and Iraq for the last year?Might have to add one more country before Iran comes up for 'liberation', another former Allie bites the dust. The miracle will be is that it will be own fault they are being taken over.

I noted your use of mowing down citzens - nice use of your propoganda and locked in mindset - not one Hamas or other Terrorist was killed by Israel -

The demonstrations were held because the Gov gave them permission to do so. At least the last two US elections were rigged, as was Regan's and nobody is protesting at all. The part that really makes a person want to vomit is the 'surprise' it causes yet no action is taken other than 'hope the next elections' will be fair. Saying, we were lied to (again) might not be the sort of thing countries under invasion were waiting to see. Inaction to stop a crime in progress can lead to charges of being accomplices of the crime. Say responsible for some very large fines handed out by a ruling court.

A new low might not have been the correct term, perhaps a new height for you would be more appropriate.

Seek help.

Thank you, I'll try not to let it become habitual. Okay, when you take out a whole police station you will probably kill somebody connected to Hamas, feel better now? So whose twist of the words got their title changed from 'democratically elected Government to the people of Gaza' to 'terrorist'. Since Gaza was under Israeli military occupation for more than 20 years before Hamas was elected to power why weren't the ones that caused the occupation called the terrorists? (careful how you answer)

Why so cordial, you setting a trap? lol
I'm not the one going through high expectations to 'darn, that didn't work quite right, Oh well what's another 4 years of bloodshed to the Iraqi and Afghanistan people. First it was the 'hopes' for a Bush loss, the latest was change with a new prez and when it is more of the same old, same old, and even worse even the 'skeptics' act shocked. There are some very stupid people out there or somebody is acting, I would think the acting shocked is pretty much a sham.

The trap remark wasn't posted as part of the reply to you, it was to Colpy.
U.N.’s Richard Falk Finds Israel Guilty of “New War Crime”: Targeting Trapped Civilians
"The veteran human rights attorney said a case for war crimes committed against a civilian population must be taken to the International Criminal Court.
“What else can you call it when more than half of the 1,300 fatalities and 6,000 wounded are women and children—not to mention the deliberate demolition of government ministries, 14,000 homes, 29 educational institutions, 30 mosques, 60 police stations and agricultural lands?” she asked."

Now please do not tell me that the BBC is also a front for the CIA - If you recall the BBC transmitted Khomeini's speeches to the Iranian people during his exile in France. This is only the beginning - the 7 days of mourning also coincide with a major celebration on the 7th day - You will see a lot more demonstrations and more murdered by the regime of thugs that you support.

Iranian reformists have clashed with police after the funeral of a dissident cleric, opposition websites say.

Earlier, tens of thousands took part in a procession for Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Ali Montazeri in the holy city of Qom.Clashes reportedly broke out, but the scale of the confrontation is not clear, says a BBC correspondent.Montazeri - who died aged 87 of natural causes in Qom on Saturday night - had decried President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's re-election in June as a fraud. The reformist Jaras website said mourners chanted slogans in support of the cleric and also of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi.Mr Mousavi took part in the procession, along with fellow opposition leader Mehdi Karroubi. The reformist Kaleme website reported that Mr Mousavi's car was attacked by "plainclothes men" on motorbikes, as the opposition leader travelled back from Qom to Tehran.Kaleme said the assailants shattered the car's back window and injured a member of Mr Mousavi's entourage.

Doesn't sound like he did much of an independent investigation into the matter, more or less took the opposition at it's word.

"Then, despite his old age and failing health, Montazeri backed the opposition's claims that the 2009 election result, which gave Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a landslide victory, had been widely rigged."

Ahhh...excuse me?????

If you are a police officer in Gaza under Hamas control, you are an armed militant. The idea that the Gazan police force is somehow divorced from Hamas is ludicrous.

Hamas was elected when??? Uh-huh.........For a term of how many years????

I'm trying to turn over a new leaf.

A police officer is a civilian authority. I wasn't trying to divorce the them, that is who Israel targeted in their search for 'terrorists', if Hamas is not the Gov why target all those politicians and Govt buildings?

Best of luck with your new wardrobe, I'll try not to test it too much.

"Hamas, the militant group that has controlled Gaza since mid-2007, has an estimated 20,000-strong security force composed of police; Protection and Security, a unit similar to the U.S. Secret Service; and Internal Security, an intelligence and interrogation squad with a rising reputation for brutality.
Many security force members moonlight with the Izzidin al-Qassam Brigade, Hamas' military wing, which continues to launch dozens of rockets and mortar shells each day at southern Israeli towns."

Not coming from LA lol. Something is amiss in this part of the timeline. In just 5 days there are demands from outside, in just 4 days threats are made to seize all their money. Within 1 month Israel, the US and the EU has stopped allowing then to receive aid. A democratically elected Govt cannot be boycotted for assign cabinet seats to the winners in the election. Why can't we do that in Canada if our team doesn't win. Dirty tactics make those ones the terrorists. Bigger purse strings does not change the facts. The three 'supposed' defenders of democracy or the ones condemning democracy when they want a dictator in power that is out for their best interests rather than the people he should be protecting.

US Media Bias, Human Rights, and the Hamas Government in Gaza | Project Censored
The following is a short historical timeline of the Gaza situation since January 2006:
2006
January 25: Hamas wins Palestinian general elections gaining 76 of 132 seats.
January 29: Western governments threaten to halt financial aid to Palestinians.
January 30: The UN, EU, US and Russia announce “all members of a future Palestinian government must be committed to non-violence, recognition of Israel, and acceptance of previous agreements and obligations.”
March 18: Hamas submits its cabinet to President Mahmoud Abbas (twenty-four ministers including eight MPs). In response, the US, EU, and Israel boycott the new government and say they will suspend aid to the government.

Many people, must come as surprise to a doddering old fellow like yourself live well into their 90's and beyond and their minds are intact - The division started in 97 - 12 years ago - As I said to my cousin the other day - work related - I cannot cure the dumb - no matter what is brought forward you fail to see any truths - blind and dumb - and please do not cheery pick - do some research on how many Senior Clerics are against the Dictatorship that Iran has become - How the elite clerics within the Govt has stolen billions - look and ye shall find - but then you would find that these would not support your poorly preconceived opinions.

But the pair fell out over Iran's human rights record a few months before Khomeini died of cancer in 1989.
In 1997 he famously clashed with Khamenei, whom he outranked in the religious hierarchy, after questioning the powers of the supreme leader.Montazeri repeatedly accused the country's rulers of imposing dictatorship in the name of Islam and said the liberation that was supposed to have followed the 1979 revolution never happened. Then, despite his old age and failing health, Montazeri backed the opposition's claims that the 2009 election result, which gave Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a landslide victory, had been widely rigged.Montazeri said Iran's leadership was a dictatorship and issued a fatwa condemning the government.

MHZThere is an old saying about people not knowing how stupid you are until you open your mouth and confirm it. It would also apply to what you write. But the pair fell out over Iran's human rights record a few months before Khomeini died of cancer in 1989.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_executions_of_Iranian_political_prisoners

1988 executions of prisoners in Iran (Persian: ۱۳۶۷ اعدام زندانیان سیاسی در تابستان) refers to the systematic execution of "thousands" of political prisoners across Iran by the government of Iran, starting on 19 July 1988 and lasting about five months. The majority of the prisoners killed were supporters of the People's Mujahedin of Iran, although hundreds of supporters of other groups, including the Fedaian Khalq and the Tudeh Party of Iran (Communist Party), were also executed.[1][2]

The killings have been called "an act of violence unprecedented in Iranian history — unprecedented in form, content, and intensity."[3] The exact number of prisoners executed remains unclear. Amnesty International recorded the names of over 2,000 political prisoners reportedly killed during this time,[4] but Iranian opposition groups suggest that the number of prisoners executed was far higher, and as many as 30,000 prisoners may have been executed.[5][6]Great care was taken to keep the killings secret, and the government of Iran denies their having taken place, but with the large scale of the operation word leaked out from survivors.

http://www.iranrights.org/english/memorial-case-21237.php

In their open letter, the families of the prisoners note that defendants were not given the opportunity to defend themselves in court. Against the assertion that prisoners were associated with guerillas operating near the borders, the families submit the isolation of their relatives from the outside during their detention: "Our children lived in most difficult conditions. Visits were limited to 10 minutes behind a glass divider through a telephone every two weeks. We witnessed during the past seven years that they were denied access to anything that would have allowed them to establish contacts outside their prisons' walls." Under such conditions the families reject the claim of the authorities that these prisoners were able to engage with any political group outside Iran.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/19149511/Deadly-Fatwa-Irans-1988-Prison-Massacrehttp://rudyrummel.blogspot.com/2009/06/ayatollah-khomeini-ordered-massacre-of.html

Children as young as 13 were hanged from cranes, six at a time, in a barbaric two-month purge of Iran's prisons on the direct orders of Ayatollah Khomeini, according to a new book by his former deputy.More than 30,000 political prisoners were executed in the 1988 massacre -- a far larger number than previously suspected. Secret documents smuggled out of Iran reveal that, because of the large numbers of necks to be broken, prisoners were loaded onto forklift trucks in groups of six and hanged from cranes in half-hourly intervals.Gruesome details are contained in, The Memoirs of Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri, one of the founders of the Islamic regime. He was once considered Khomeini's anointed successor . . . . The most damning of the letters and documents published in the book is Khomeini's fatwa decree calling for all Mojahedin (as opponents of the Iranian regime are known) to be killed. . . . the fatwa reads: "It is decreed that those who are in prisons throughout the country and remain steadfast in their support for the Monafeqin (Mojahedin) [regime opponents] are waging war on God and are condemned to execution."

WOW the CIA sure must have busy inside Iran to have so many people put into prisons for acts of treason in a time of war. Apparently they didn't think they could trust them in the future. Sort of like Dresden being fire-bombed after their military was in shambles. You act like this was a yearly, or monthly, cleansing of the prisons. When no international wars were being waged Iran was much calmer than when the US was running things.

"In 1953, the U.S. and the British sponsored a coup against Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeq after he nationalized oil fields. The Coup restored Mohammad Rezā Shāh Pahlavi, the “Shaw of Iran” to supremacy. Under the Shaw’s iron-fisted rule, secret police tortured and killed political opponents. Fed-up with his oppressive rule, the supporters of fundamentalist Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini took power in 1979. Still inflamed at the U.S. for it’s role in the coup, Iranian students took 52 American diplomats hostage and held them for 444 days. Khomeini’s successor, Ayatollahs Ali Khamenei, continues to excoriate the U.S. for its role in the coup, and the country celebrates “Death To America Day” on February 6 to mark the day the U.S. embassy was seized."

I provided legitimate rebuttal to your answer that the Ayatollah Montazeri was not as you implied a doddering old fool - rebut or shut up - stay on topic - next you will be talking about WW1 and then Napoleon - and before you know those dammed Romans - Doddering along as always - cant find a reply - try to divert the point to something else.

In your article it states he was 'upset with the Gov' because the revolution that started in the late '70's never happened. What sort of changes did he expect during an 8yr war with America's proxy Iraq?

Being as he was under house arrest for some 10 years who do you think he would support? Not likely his jailers.

He broke with the Govt because of the mass executions -you happened to miss that - he was the annointed successor till then - he knew the executions were against Islamic teachings - children were hung - same as a Stainist Purge - No different - same as the cultural revolution under Mao in the 60's - no difference - except some stood tall - most did not.

No Goober, it was the execution of people that were in prison at the end of an 8 yr war.
Don't try to make it random killings of law-abiding civilians without a lot of proof. Prove your story about them hanging children for a start. Should I find some links to how Iraqi children are treated in present day Iraq or Afghanistan when it is run by the US Military?
