we did get a dusting of snow later this afternoon, not nearly what you describe, but it is very
very cold here, and windy.

We finally saw the snowplow. We now have a snowbank across the end of the driveway. Our biggest inconvenience from
the snow is man made.

we went as far as qualicum, decided not to continue, but had a nice lunch at shady rest, then
came back to the valley, nothing here at all as yet, just cold and cloudy, maybe it won't arrive
here, keeping my fingers crossed.

we were on our way to costco, but we'll wait a few days and go down there again, had a nice
drive anyway.

snow got lighter and lighter once we were north of deep bay area.

As of 7:30 there is no new snow in Qualicum. Got about 10cm but is -5 and dark clouds. Busy looking for where global warming disappeared to.

........look on the bright side, Juan. You can always stay home in the event of ..............eeek!!........snow, and write up some more of 'Juan's Kitchen'........Very enjoyable reading. Plays hell with the diet though.

That might be a good idea but I have a doctor appointment this morning so I have to get out anyway.

Our back deck looks weird with an eight inch topping of snow on everything.

I have decided that I won't shovel the damn stuff, so I hope the weatherman is right about the rain we are supposed to have soon.

Winter is about done here in El Toro. Now the sloppy clean up begins and the ritual of getting the toys out!

I went in fully prepared with an exit plan.

Vancouver is a beautiful city but has the black heart of a w hore.

You got that right. If you have a $million- no problem, but pretty hopeless for those who can't get out.

still no snow here, and the temp seems to be about -2 and sould sit at around 0 today

nice in here, stove is on and it's cozy. i'll just go from the house to the car, from
the car into 'whatever' store, then return.
no walking outside today for me, i'll get that treadmill going.

i hate the cold, but I can walk for miles in the rain, warm and dry in my gortex.

I finally worked up the courage about 3 P.M. to take the walk, wind had died down slightly but still brutal. Anyway I managed an hour on the steepest hills around, so can sleep tonight with a clear conscience. Cold is criminal for anyone over 60.

take it easy out in the bitter cold, don't stray too far from home.

how long into the year does the okanagon have that kind of cold, I know for us, as you know, it will
be only a few days to a week, then we should be on our way to more milder temps.

I hate being in the house so many hours in the day, but it's only for a short while.

I guess as weather goes we don't really have it all that bad, I'm just a bit of a sissy in my doddering years. I would say we can expect anything up until the end of March, but at this time of year and through March we should also be getting some days where the temp. would be 10 degrees or more- probably 15C once we reach mid March. But we also should remember we had 9C on January 17. Gotta take the bad with the good Talloola. Minus 12C here tonight already.

It is 10 am. -6 degrees F. We have roughly 6 inches of snow and it is still snowing like hell I was starting to think that global
warming was going to solve those snow problems but no such luck. I'll shovel the driveway after it quits snowing or around
noon whichever comes first......
