If you engage in a street fight with a huge gorilla at 600 to 1 odds quess what is likely to happen.:laughing7::wave:
What's that got to do with anything? We've got two supposed experts generating probability calculations from the same information that differ by almost 5 orders of magnitude, which means the information isn't good enough to do that with.

The gorilla would lose. He wouldn't know how to work a gun.

About the stats:

600-1 that others would have the same name.

We'll say back then, conservatively, 60,000 families in the immediate region. One in a hundred shot thats the Tomb of Jesus.

if it turns out James is the missing box o' dead bits.

its 30,000 to one, meaning it would be 50/50 its the tomb of Jesus.

assuming there were only 60,000. Im sure you can figure ou the real numbers and it probably goes down.

BUT: If you can find the spear of destiny, wherever it has been hiding since WWII, you might be able to do some genetics testing.

I realize how snide I sounded when I wrote that.... but if one looks into things sometimes money and publicity play their part....

We have loads of Christmas movies, plays, songs, toys, gifts, etc. etc.... all devoted to the birth of Christ.... all devoted to making money as well.

We also have Easter Epics in the film world.... some songs, and as Mikey mentions .... easter candies and eggs..... all devoted to the Resurrection (some even to the Crucifiction).... all devoted to making money...

It is snide.... but I am only outlining the "snide" in our world.... not creating it.

They obviously ain't using the same information, or the science is wrong. Since they both erred on the positive side of the debate, I think the outcome is positive, and I have faith in that.:laughing7::wave:

The true reason is just another attack on Christianity. Christianity holds people directly responsible for themselves and to behave a certain way. People who live empty lives full of earthly wealth are not looked on too kindly in the Bible. Therefore rich Hollywood types KNOW that the arrow is pointed at them and they do not like being pointed at. So they set out to disparage a religion that at times speaks to them.

Even though I am Christian I could be a heck of a lot better at it. That is for sure. However I do not seek to destroy or disprove things that bother me.

Christanity is an easy target because of the passiveness of MOST Christians. You will not see Christians burning down Hollywood movie studios and the National Geographic HQ for this. Guys like Cameron know this. Basically what these folks are trying to say is Christianity is false and built on lies.

Correct me if I am wrong. Mohammed ascended into Heaven from the Temple Mount. That would mean there should not be a body. Do you think for one minute if someone had a possible tomb of Mohammed it would get this much air play? Cameron would not have the guts nor would any other person dare bring out this notion EVEN if it could be proven 100%.

Biggest load of bilgewater I've seen in a while. More bullspit been carried out in the name of deities than anything else except maybe money. Christians and others say things like, "God willing, I wll havea good life"; atheist says, "I think I'll make a good life for myself". Or, "I thought god woulda told me to do this". and "I just did it".

I'll do a quick weigh in.

2 billion + people on this earth believe in the Bible, part of this general belief (without going into Catholic/Protestant and denomination), is that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rised from the dead.

Now, the deal is was it his spirt that arose or his physical being? If the mainstream Christians believed it was just his spirit that arose, this wouldn't be such a huge contreversy.

But, me most Christians, me included, believe Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead. To many accounts in the Bible, and other scriptures for Christians to believe otherwise.

Now, the biggest insult to billionsand the biggest contreversy is: Mary Magedline and Jesus had a child.

To me this is just some washed up director wanting to bring in the ratings for his show, kickstart his career again, and create contreversy.

I am always insulted by the DaVinchi code "story", tried to make "true".

the story of Mary Magdalene is as old as Jesus himself check the European folklore.
In the bible Jesus while on the cross supposedly dead was pierced by a sword he bled.
Forensic proof of a dead body does not bleed.
Jesus was crucified on a Friday and brought down before the sabbath. Well the Sabbath starts Friday at sundown... Nobody ever researched how the Hebrews lived back then and folklore , your views would change . but there's those that won't see anything being brainwashed literally as a baby. The first thing your told as an infant is what will be ingrained as the truth even tho it isn't. This will eventually be the social discovery that Santa doesn't exist..... have a nice day

@Westmanguy

How is Jesus getting married and having a child an insult to christians?

I wasn't aware having a family or being married was a sin. Im pretty sure in fact Jesus reccomends this as a course of action. Why such an insult for someone to practice what they preach?

My point was not how Christians act or say. The Word... if you will preaches kindness, compassion, and forgiveness etc. Certainly not every Christian acts or lives in a Christian way. I do not know many who do live a life strictly to the Word. But the Word of Christianity asks the people who are of that faith to live and treat others in a certain way. Whether they do or not is up to them. Free will.

Cute, Beav.
Anyway, Eag, my point is that atheists ONLY have themselves to hold responsible for their lives, Christians and others always have someone else to find responsible, whether it be Sanaa Claus, the tooth faerie, or some deity.
