This dumbass thought that was a real quote, lmfao.

disgusting post. had to hold up vomit.

"it's brought us a very comfortable life considering any other type of society. "

who is "us"? because for sure the majority of human beings on this earth aren't living comfortably. that includes first world countries.

you're very wrong and stupid. there's no separating capitalism and corporatism, capitalism took a **** and corporatism was born.

Gez Harpercon, get a grip!! When I said "us" I was referring to us - Canada but you could also include (if you so wish) other countries with similar systems.

Are Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria et al - are they capitalistic countries? I think NOT!! Would you prefer to live there as opposed to here? Look where their system(s) of government got them. What about the Soviet Union before it collapsed. Hopw did that work out?

Don't be so silly in your posts and read what is written and think before you comment because your post was just as disgusting as you said mine was.

You'd be wrong as far as Somalia and Nigeria are concerned. They're so capitalist that the so-called First World looks downright communist by comparison.

Would you prefer to live there as opposed to here? Look where their system(s) of government got them. What about the Soviet Union before it collapsed. Hopw did that work out?
Capitalism isn't a system of government. It's an economic system.

Right-wing extremists blocked food from being imported into Venezuela, they've done it before in the 80s during Operation Condor. The piece of **** capitalists are always infiltrating where a potential thriving communist country could exist.

no food in venezuela? haha there's plenty of it, if you're a bourgie.

Canada is protectionist in food trade too. That's one reason the poor must pay high food prices.

50 years ago the biggest employer was G.M. where workers made the equivalent of $50/hr. Today's biggest employer Walmart pays $8/hr.

Hillary Clinton is a former Walmart executive who oversaw the company crippling union organization. This isn’t a coincidence. In Hillary Clinton’s memoir, she romanticized about her first date with Bill Clinton, where the two broke a picket line together. Pretending a union busting scab is somehow a warrior for the working class is ignorant at very best, insulting at worst. It makes you look grossly uninformed, or simply unwilling to listen.

Either this is a very old story or Wallyworld is getting away with paying under minimum wage.

Boeing has taken classic labor-busting tactics to unusual extremes

The IAM says Boeing has been pressing its case aggressively in the workplace as well, including through mandatory meetings, casual conversations on the shop floor, TV screens placed in break rooms, free anti-union T-shirts, and a giant stack of food, diapers, and clothing labeled as all the things employees could buy for the same cost as annual union dues. A postcard titled “The Truth About IAM Wage Claims,” one of several the IAM says have been distributed by management at morning meetings, urges employees to “Just say NO to the IAM” and features an image of Pinocchio.

On Monday, Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO and president Kevin McAllister joined Boeing South Carolina general manager Joan Robinson-Berry for group meetings with employees, at which a Boeing spokesperson said they discussed "the importance of their decision" about unionization. Workers say the executives suggested unionization would mean giving away all of their rights to the union and could ruin the plant’s competitiveness.

"They were threatening us basically" through "innuendo," said employee Don Winckles. "They take the worst possible scenario and throw it out there, and a lot of people buy it, even though those people don’t like the way things are now."

The machinists union says Boeing has taken classic labor-busting tactics to unusual extremes. “It’s on steroids right now,” said Mike Evans, the lead organizer on the campaign. Along with stoking fears about dues and strikes, Evans said, managers have suggested to employees that if they unionized they could stop getting bonuses and their jobs could be moved to China.

The problem is when blaming one side or the other is you have to label them.
We call them capitalists or socialist or communists or fascists and the list goes
on. The fact of the evil people don't wear labels and none speak for the masses
of socialist or capitalists they speak for their own greed. Yes there are greedy
socialists as there are greedy capitalists.
The fact is most of the people that fall into the two main groups capitalist and the
socialist are really Narcissistic Sociopaths hiding behind the mask of a label.
The other startling truth we ignore is capitalism feeds the thirst for jobs progress
and innovation. The socialist aspects of a society ensure the need for ethics,
mental and physical of the society. A civilization is judged on how well we treat the
most vulnerable. With aspects of each other socialism and capitalism gain ultimate
control and destroy themselves in their own corruption

Air Canada invites passengers to make cash offer to sit in better class

Bids are made online using a sliding scale with a set minimum and maximum amount. When passengers pick their price, a chart lets them know the strength of their offer.

Travellers find out if they have the winning bid about 48 hours before departure.

Ottawa-based travel blogger Anshul Singh recently bid to upgrade his Air Canada flight from Toronto to Dubai.

He was booked in premium economy and made an offer for a seat in business class, for the extra perks: "Lie-flat bed so I can sleep, the biggest thing. Food is way better, alcohol, champagne," said Singh.

He had paid $718 for his flight. The business class ticket was $2,248 — a difference of $1,530. Singh was allowed to bid between $400 and $900 for the upgrade.

He offered $500. The Air Canada system warned him it was a low bid.

Even though he knew it was a long shot, Singh still felt let down when he learned his offer had been rejected. "I was a little disappointed that $500 didn't cut it."

Singh recommends people do their research before making an offer. That's because there's no indication on the bid site of the actual cost of the class you want to upgrade to.
