Energy firms warned over communication about climate change

Environmental groups have fired legal warning shots at major energy companies over their alleged role in funding climate change denial and blocking climate-friendly legislation.

Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund have sent letters to international and Canadian companies asking how they manage public communication on climate change.

They say spreading misinformation could leave company officers open to legal liability.

Keith Stewart of Greenpeace Canada says the letters are the first step in a long-term campaign to use the law to prevent the energy industry from delaying action on climate change.

He says the strategy was inspired by the ultimately successful campaign to make tobacco companies liable for sowing doubt about the health effects of their products.

The letter has been sent to five Canadian companies: Suncor (TSX:SU), Talisman Energy (TSX:TLM), Husky Energy (TSX:HSE), EnCana (TSX:ECA) and Canadian Natural Resources (TSX:CNQ). It has also been sent to 30 other energy companies and 45 insurance companies around the world.

It is ****ing MINUS 1 degree outside.

Bring that idiot Suzuki here and we'll stand him in my backyard in a bathing suit, and see if he wants to lecture me on global warming.

Has it occured to you that rather than the contest you think you are watching you are being sucked into a theatre production, virtually every large environmental group is funded by the same machine that funds the oil industry. You are watching pro wrestling, a staged fight

Maybe he can stick around and also explain to you how at night, even though you can't see it right at that moment, the sun still exists.

Can you identify who the mastermind is behind this theatre?

Who is the elusive man propping up both groups?

I had my heat on last night.

US economy shrunk last quarter... blamed on the harsh winter.

Soon they will tell you that global warming causes harsh winters....using the same principle that a propane fridge uses heat to freeze your ice cubes and cool your food.....

Ah yes... That "Polar Vortex" thingy you guys had a few months back.

Yeah apparently that was due to global warming.

And those record snow falls for the last few years I've missed that started happening a couple of days before I moved?

Yeah that's all due to Global Warming.

Apparently "Warming" means "Butt'Fk'n Nipple'Dropp'n Ice'azzed Cold" these days.... At least to the Global Warming Hipsters.

But we believe them.... All this cold for the last few years has been due to a Global Cooling trend they all seemed to have forgotten to predict in their little computer generated "models" and the "Real" Global Warming will be happening soon......

Oh Wait!

I forgot!!

IT'S HAPPENING NOW!!!

Like Now Now..... Not like the last time they said it was happening.

Now it's happening.

.... And this summer will be the real summer that we'll see an ice free Arctic.

Yup.... Yessery'bob... You Betcha.
