Conservative candidate tweets photo falsely showing ISIS militant as refugee

Conservative candidate Peter Kent was forced to backpedal Tuesday, after sharing a photo over social media that mistakenly identifies a Syrian refugee as an Islamic State fighter.

In the tweet, which has been deleted, Kent called the “then and now” photos “chilling reminders why prudent/detailed refugee screening” is essential.

However, international reports, including the BBC, had already debunked the side-by-side photo after it made the rounds over social media.

According to the BBC, the man seen on the right side of the photo has been identified as a former Free Syrian Army commander originally from Aleppo.

Kent’s tweet was later deleted after Twitter users called out the candidate over social media.

Actually of the three leaders Harper has come off as being the least idiotic. Jr. has been an idiot from day one. Mulehair at times has enough smarts to restrain himself but he blew it all the day he said Harper caused the recession when no one was even sure we had one, not to mention one man can't start a recession anymore than one man can cause a tornado.

Flossy is getting all flustered.

Yep, people who are prejudiced often get that way! :) :)

Lot of good it did to 'educate' you two. Bad money from the start to the end. Waste of time and skin in all three cases.

. Jr. has been an idiot from day one.
News flash, that is what 'the least experienced guy' is supposed to look like, the ones that are supposed to be the experienced ones are not any better.
In some cases the 'older ones' are much worse as their thinking is 18th century at best.

I guess not if you don't know or understand the law of refugees.
First one there gets the most.

Refugee crisis requires a united European response

We call on our political leaders to:

Refugee crisis requires a united European response | Letters | World news | The Guardian

Getting back to what taxslave wisely suggested the other day about keeping our noses out of foreign strife, why are we even considering bringing refugees here? We had a huge influx in here after Expo 86 which has been largely a disaster with gangs and crime. If you don't change your procedure you won't see different results.

With a full blown crisis on the ground from the Persian Sea to the Arctic it is good thing Israel is free to enforce an no-fly zone over all of the EU, minus the Muslim States as they do a 'restoration' that is more like time travel in that they move from the stone age into an age where they are designing the 'improvements' that need to be made to the 'test models'. No idea what that means other than a lot of people have a lot of money to spend, and none of it is for war machines. (UN Security Member Russia will be taking care of that for a few decades, right comrades)

I've acted like this around pricks for a lot longer than 14 years. Wonder how our stories would compare to the inmates at the Federal Prison in the NWT that was also as toxic. Stabbing over a game of 'Fish' would have to be topped as far as aggression levels go. How long would you last?

If we quit having our wars where they lived there would be no refugees, period. (but then they would own the oil)

15 million, 5 million from 3 countries each and each country had 20 cities/villages that became deserted.

1. Keep people from the same town/villages together as much as possible. Concentrate on 'integrating the ones 20 and under' as far as language and higher technologies and interaction with other villages that fit the term 'refugee'. If they prefer to stay as one group rather than intermingle then they become the ones whacking away at the land to make a living.

2. Jack of all trades is the new style of education and then nothing ever becomes 'special' where it can exercise control more than it. If we keep the lights on the 'robots' can do the 'chores' and all people become unemployed at the same yearly rate of a bankers take-home pay.

3. Those who don't pass go to the 'frontier zone' where a good aim might mean you see another spring.

4. Those who get treated get paid as they agree to be the 'lab-fats'. Just kidding, the aim is to not get sick in the first place, injuries are treated on site and the infants and the elder watch as people are born and then they die id they survive to be old.

5. The possessions they are given are worked off over a period of years, same as before but you get before you pay. A 'direction' is supposed to be available, if not then welcome to the new frontier boys and girls, I hear a new Don is coming to be the sheriff for 'awhile'..

If anyone is following this would you be kind enough to explain it? :) :)

About 15 million people from 5 different countries are the number of refugees in this post. Are you with me so far? The new host countries would need to build about 20 new cities. Question 1, do you add on to an existing one or build it out the boonies?

Probably a little of each and the new cities should be a reasonable distance from existing cities- 50 miles would tolerable. Like for instance it might not be necessary to have brain surgering facilities in every new city if it was available somewhere near by. Most of the answers depend on existing demographics. By the same token if an existing city had 5 openings for brain surgeons and five were being imported I would think it would make sense to locate them as close as possible to where they are needed.

What really bugs me is they won't provide enough for dignity to the ones who really deserve it, but they continue to hand it out to the useless, able bodied bums and parasites who sit on a bench down town all day panhandling. People are just getting sick of trying to enter a store without being hit up for 'spare change'. Wish the gov't had a few more balls in that department.

You should be thinking recession. You're not going to be happy this next decade as the benches and parks become crowded with the lazy bums.

Not sure anyone would want to settle here. This area is a swampy desert with a rugged, mountainous terrain and a foul climate 11 months of the year. The other month it is subzero bigtime.

Whereever there are no bombs will be home. If we stopped flattening their places there would be no problem.

So, where would you fling the ones that didn't pass your criteria?

I doubt if that would happen. The chosen few might just get a letter or phone call. The others may meet someone else's criteria.

I was thinking of the settlement- maybe 20 houses. I was there once, maybe twice. Didn't see a red carpet. L.O.L As I drove through I didn't see any of the denizens smiling at me so I turned around and left. I never saw a moose the entire 9 years I lived in Grand Forks.
