lol....then you will concede we, the Canadian public, were and are being duped.

Afghanistan IS self-defense.

We were attacked. Under our military agreements, an attack on either the USA or Canada is considered an attack on both. Under the NATO treaty, an attack on any member is considered an attack on all. And more than a few Canadians died on 9-11.

Our ONLY "pretense" in being in Afghanistan is to prevent the Taliban establishing yet another Islamic state, in which lunatic Islamists train and prepare for missions against the west.

Making life better for the people of Afghanistan, creating a stable society, that is all icing....NOT necessary to the primary goal.

Which we can not allow ourselves to miss.

Apache Helicopter Strike - Video

Boeing AH-64 Apache - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As far as I know, the soldier was charged with murder. He was found not guilty by (was it a military court?).

In order for this case to have reached public attention, there must have been some substance to the charges. Colpy claims there were medics at the scene. Was this `fact` brought up in the courts?

Strange, don`t you think?
No - Medics were not on scene and they do not travel with these units- the unit the Capt was with had limited medical supplies - he, the Taliban had massive trauma - leg lost, stomach ripped open.

So because someone is found innocent - you assume they are guilty - or does that just apply to soldiers.

You showed clearly you have no knowledge of the events as they transpired and picked up on Colpy's error as fact.

So it clearly shows that as folllows

1 - You post threads about which you have little to no knowledge of. No suprise on that.

2 - You use these threads to troll, what a sorry piece of crap you are. The Mods should limit your ability to post threads

3 - You have no life.

4 - If you post a thread try to have someone with some knowledge assist you. Anyone under the age of 5 should be of immense value to you. That way it may appear you have more than a stem cell.

If you are dumb-ass enough to believe the "peace-keeper" crap, and if you think the restoration work is the primary function of Canadian troops in Afghanistan, then you have "duped" yourself.

The "icing" I refer to is applied not to fool Canadians, but in an attempt to stabilize the society of Afghanistan.

Good luck with that. Really.

But it is NOT the primary role of the Canadian military. Our primary role is, was, and should continue to be the denial of control to the Taliban. Usually done by killing them. Which we do very well.

The Taliban were friends of the US right up until a few days before invasion. They even visited GWB in the white house. They had already established a radical Muslim state for many years. So avoiding that establishment is pure bull. In spite of the propaganda to the contrary, the Taliban banned the growing of poppies as it is against their religion, of which it is well established that they are radical fundamentalists. Since Afghanistan has been the supplier of at least 50% of the world's poppy supply, it was important to those who profit the most from such activity to reestablish that supply. Since the invasion, the poppy crops have gone up a hundred fold, so if you think that the invasion was about radical Muslims, you are sorely misinformed. They were removed to get the poppies growing again, not because of their refusal to turn over the fictitious al Quiada. We did not go in there to establish a domocracy, we went in there to establish a puppet state. We did not go in there to support the rights of women, we went in there to create chaos. The only icing on the cake is that the billions to be made in the heroine trade has been returned to normal.

War is an ugly activity. This is not the first time a soldier has dispatched a painfully wounded enemy as an act of mercy and it will not be the last.

I'm surprised at this. I really thought the system would hang him out to dry for not being a 'PC' soldier and leaving the guy to die a slow and painful death.

If he had shot the prick during the heat of battle, probably would have got a medal.

freaking PC canuks.

Lucky they didn't hang him. No criminal record, and he can work for the govt. (join up???) again.

Still should give him a medal.

Ah the poor bugger. At least the judge gave him leeway to re-join the military...perhaps only to repeat the crime.

CBC News - Canada - Semrau kicked out of Canadian Forces

Here we have a Canadian Army Captain with a spotless record who has just been in a fire fight. One of the Taliban who attacked was sprayed with machine gun fire from a helicopter. Our captain comes across this guy and he is missing an arm and a leg and his stomach has been torn open and his intestines are spilling out. Rather than let the guy suffer Captain Semrau shoots him in the head to put him out of his misery. There is nothing dishonourable about this. The Afghan soldiers the Captain was accompanying wouldn't touch the guy. What were the options? Remember this was just one of the guys who have blown up over a hundred of our soldiers in the past year or so.

Dismissal from the army is hardly a slap on the wrist.

I am waiting patiently for a reply - As eveyone on the Forum is aware that we look upon each other with great disdain a reply to my points should be easily rebutted. I have shortened it to make it a tad easier for you.

You do?

They do!?

lol Actually I don`t mind you sputtering off the way you do. Kind of humourous from my view point.

Me thinks you ought to mellow out some and stop allowing posts to get under your skin so easily.

Methinks not - If you post a thread have some knowledge of the topic and possibly an opinion that you can also bring forward. But to post threads on a continuous basis with one focal point possibly just trolling for replies. That argument in your case could be made.

But then again this to you is just some sputtering.

You call it `trolling for replies`...I call in scouting for informed opinions.

Well every thread you have posted, the exception being smoking in Tractor Trailers has been about soldiers and killing. Along with your rejoicing over their deaths. Are you a member of that Church in the US that trolls Funerals for Soldiers yelling obscenities?
