Are you talking about this one:

http://https://youtu.be/S1eb9vQ1vAk

Respectfully, it just shows what went down in front of the camera. I'm interested in what went on behind the camera.

For starters, the attacker (I'm not defending him, I just find that Gunn Reid's version of the event reeks of shameless sensationalism) hit the camera, not her face, but those were the very next words out of her mouth, "He hit me in the face!". If she can come up with a lie that quick, what does it say about her credibility overall? I've listened to this poor excuse for a journalist spout so much drama queen nonsense in her career that it's really hard for me to take her at her word.

Respectfully - I like that Nick

I rarely read the Rebel Media and honestly don't remember hearing of this reporter until the story surfaced so I had no preconceived opinion regarding her reporting. I did find her style very caustic in the video. I also have to admit that my hearing prevents me from understanding clearly what is being said in certain videos and I may very well have missed something important. I did honestly believe that she was hit in the face by the camera when Bews lashed out though I didn't see any blood or gore. However you look at it, she was assaulted, Nick maybe not to the extent that she would have us believe but assault is assault and Bews is guilty.

What bothered me more than anything else was the look in Bews eyes when he lashed out - it chilled me.

Should the protester then be charged for 'glaring menacingly'?

I think Gunn went to this rally and baited herself in the hopes something like this would happen. She is quite well-rehearsed in her video response to this incident, and hardly looks like the victim of an assault...neither in appearance or demeanor.

Gunn had an agenda...never seen a woman so thrilled about being assaulted in my whole life.

But hang on. Gotta put the kids to bed.

I'll be back in a miniskirt.

No...with physical assault.

Baited herself?? You mean by interviewing the people at the rally....you know...doing the job she was sent there to do as a reporter? It's laughable that you are suspicious of her "well-rehearsed video", ie. her studio-produced report. I suspect you must be very suspicious of CBC or Global reports on the evening news as well, no?

It is likely of little consequence what comes of any potential legal action anyhow, the most damaging blow has been self-inflicted. Apparently this guy owns a guitar shop and makes custom guitars. A quick google of his business website shows that it's been locked down and all his media and contact sites no longer accessible. Something tells me business is going to get a bit tougher for him. Karma can be a real b*tch.

I already agreed the guy was a douche. I just think we're dealing with 2 haters here...one from the extreme Left, and one from the extreme Right.

Don't think the guy should lose his livelihood over this incident, but the Internet can be unforgiving I suppose.

Oh I've never said any different, on both counts. The guy let his anger get the best of him and that is not acceptable behavior, but Gunn Reid is playing to the camera, and I'm sticking with that until I see proof to the contrary.

As for her "caustic" manner in the video, add to that insulting, immature, and exaggerating and you've got the recipe for yet another batch of Sheila 'Shoot from the Lip' Gunn Reid.

Decapoda...

I'd like to see one of your worst moments captured on film.

That's the problem with the Net and social media. One screw up, and you get the Scarlett letter for life. You never get the chance to reinvent yourself.

Reporter : "Don't tell me to calm down, that guy just hit me in the face."

Protestor 1: "You deserve to be angry. You deserve to be angry. I am just trying to make sure nothing more happens."

Protestor 2: "You provoked him. You're part of the problem. You're part of the problem."

Go on defending men who assault women if you wish.

Mayhaps the libtard brain-trust should go after this demographic as their core supporter

... And he's already wearing the approved Liberal uniform as an extra bonus

If I was going to go full-douche like this moron, I sure as hell wouldn't be frigging stupid enough to go seeking out a tv camera. This clueless numpty deserves everything he has coming. Idiocy has consequences.

I am sorry if you mistook what I wrote as meaning that a chilling look was a chargeable offense, HH - it isn't. What is chargeable and is obvious is that she was assaulted by Bews. Whether or not she made more of it then is captured on camera is beside the point.

Just as funny how the rightwads put loyalty to the party ahead of any allegiance to truth.

And what party might that be?

Seriously, if you took that video into court with the intent of proving that the reporter had been "punched in the face" as she claims, how far do you think you'd get? At best you can prove that the assailant smacked the camera, at best.

If prosecuted as vigorously as it should be, quite far. He verbalised his intent and appeared to act on it, pretty damning evidence.

My take...

The NDP welfare recipient protester gave the camera a cuff and it probably caused the woman to recoil...perhaps clipping part of her face. Nobody got hurt.

Doesn't matter, someone accosted me once because I was wearing a Russian hat. Though he caused no real injury he was still hauled off to the crowbar hotel. As I wasn't really interested in returning to Sudbury to attend court to testify, no charges were laid, but would have been had I wanted to pursue it. If I were determined to, the guy would have been in a serious world of hurt. It wouldn't have helped that fellow's case much either that the area was also the beat of my favourite cousin's son who was known and respected by the attending officers, so I did have some cred.

heh

if this little nu-male didn't do anything wrong, why did he run and hide...why did he take down his social media and then password-protect his $6000 custom guitar website?

methinks our manly-man doth protest too much.
