How will Canada respond to this?
Decriminalize domestic violence like Russia did today.
How will Canada respond to this?
And I thought soccer players were bad...
Are you talking about this one:

Respectfully, it just shows what went down in front of the camera. I'm interested in what went on behind the camera.
For starters, the attacker (I'm not defending him, I just find that Gunn Reid's version of the event reeks of shameless sensationalism) hit the camera, not her face, but those were the very next words out of her mouth, "He hit me in the face!". If she can come up with a lie that quick, what does it say about her credibility overall? I've listened to this poor excuse for a journalist spout so much drama queen nonsense in her career that it's really hard for me to take her at her word.
Did that protester ever charge Chretien for the Shawinigan Handshake? I can't remember.

Should the protester then be charged for 'glaring menacingly'?
I think Gunn went to this rally and baited herself in the hopes something like this would happen. She is quite well-rehearsed in her video response to this incident, and hardly looks like the victim of an assault...neither in appearance or demeanor.

However you look at it, she was assaulted, Nick maybe not to the extent that she would have us believe but assault is assault and Bews is guilty
He didn't lose his livelihood, he willingly gave it away for a cause.Don't think the guy should lose his livelihood over this incident, but the Internet can be unforgiving I suppose.
Reporter : "Don't tell me to calm down, that guy just hit me in the face."
Protestor 1: "You deserve to be angry. You deserve to be angry. I am just trying to make sure nothing more happens."
Protestor 2: "You provoked him. You're part of the problem. You're part of the problem."
Go on defending men who assault women if you wish.
Decapoda...
I'd like to see one of your worst moments captured on film.
That's the problem with the Net and social media. One screw up, and you get the Scarlett letter for life. You never get the chance to reinvent yourself.

Just as funny how the rightwads put loyalty to the party ahead of any allegiance to truth.
Seriously, if you took that video into court with the intent of proving that the reporter had been "punched in the face" as she claims, how far do you think you'd get? At best you can prove that the assailant smacked the camera, at best.
My take...
The NDP welfare recipient protester gave the camera a cuff and it probably caused the woman to recoil...perhaps clipping part of her face. Nobody got hurt.
