Only someone who is without a leg to stand on in his arguments, or who is slipping off into the deep end, would need disparage others so routinely.
Congratulations.... You won! (in your own little mind) Keep that thought. It may be useful some day.
- karrie ... While I am somewhat flattered by your obsessive psycho-sexual attention in following me around with little snippy snipings but never any substantive arguments about anything important, I must tell you that I have an annoying habit of knowing what I am talking about which you and your left wing friends may well find off-putting.

- In regard to THE REAL LIST OF THE WORLD'S WEALTHIEST COUNTRIES, you can find it in Forbes Magazine as of the February 22nd, 2012 edition which takes each country's GDP and divides it by the country's population, the most accepted way to determine national wealth.
- The richest countries in the world are actually (in order of highest per capita GDP) Quatar, Luxemboutg, Singapore, Norway, Brunei, United Arab Emirate, USA, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Netherlands, Australia, Austria, Ireland and Canada.
- You will note that only Norway among the Scandanavian countires ranks in the top 14 and not because it is a socialist democracy but because it has a sh$tload of North Sea oil.
- You should also note that among these 14 countries, only 2 (two) are socialist democracies, Norway with the oil and the Netherlands.
- Game, set and match.
- Thanks for playing.
Ew. Okay, that proves the ability to debate. I'm just not gonna bother reading further than that. Yuck.
I would highly encourage members to continue in reporting his repeated personal attacks on others and inability to debate the issue without them.
Speak for yourself!
No way man, there's a huge culture war going on! Secularized public schools, home-schooled Christians, and the OWS movement are just some of the examples of the culture war happening around us.
Politics is downwind of the culture. Notice how the federal NDP has surged in Canada? That (socialist) party represents a growing base of Canadians obviously.
The culture war rages on...
Now I'm not saying total Socialism is the answer to all problems... It too has it's problems and while the US does have some socialism in its system, to me it seems Canada found a better balance between Capitalism and Socialism.... And I think that's the main difference between the two.
Yes many businesses have free range to do mostly what they want, as well as the banks but they still have more oversight than they do/did in the US, which was one of the main issues that caused the recession.

Total anything is rarely the answer.
There's a point there to be made.
The NDP represent a Socialist trend which has gained more popularity by the people over the years.
Is that a bad thing?
Yes. Socialism doesn't spread the wealth around, it only spreads poverty.
Our two countries are too intertwined to not care about American politics. If America became a failed state, the repercussions here would be devastating.
I wont dispute that. I find their politics interesting and follow it almost as closely as Canadian politics but ultimately its just an interest. We don't get a vote no matter how much we care about it and have no control on what they do.
Indeed, and Canada has been seeking out trade with many other nations in the last couple of years, such as countries in South America, Asia, the EU and more recently, India.... one other thing Harper gets brownie points from me.
Yeah Canada would suffer if the US economy tanks again... but that's only if Canada doesn't start shopping around and be a bit more wise with global trade, which is happening.
It was supposed to be devastating when the US had it's recession which affected the rest of the world in one way or another, but Canada didn't suffer as much as originally predicted and now with lessons learned, if it happened again, Canada will be more prepared than last time.
"Devastating" is a bit of an extreme argument at best.
Teddy,
Only an untravelled idiot would accept this bogus left wing listing of the wealthiest countries which puts four Scandanavian nations in the top 11

Sorry Teddy, but you are wrong. There are many ways of measuring a nation's wealth. GNP is only one way. Access to social services, the level of poverty, various quaility of life indicators such as crime rate, literacy, and so on are others. And Karrie is right about your language. Calling someone an idiot because you happen to disagree with them merely indicates that you have probably run out of intellignet things to say.
BTW Karrie plays in the big leagues - you are not quite there yet. Your comment is very far from game, set and match. You have yet to get the ball across the net.
You still haven't found out why?
