Looks like the same person responsible for the car bombing and the shootings ... a disgruntled Norwegian citizen.

This is so political ... but they don't have any idea what happened and why ... yet we're hearing "twin attacks", "democracy will stand" ... it's getting too dramatic for me.

Apparently police knew this was coming and did a bomb sweep yesterday as reported by Norweigan television news.

I highly doubt it was Muzzies.....

If your assertian is true, what do you think the chances are that the public will be told this information? If the US and Israel can block the bid for independence and they own most of the media, they will probably block any information relating Israel to these acts of terror. Of course, the rest of the world may find out but not us. We are so lucky to be bathed in whitewash.

Personally, I don't understand the reaction to jump up and try to place blame for something before any of the facts are in. Terrorists have attacked government buildings in multiple countries for a plethora of reasons. These sorts of attacks are not new, and they are not solely a trait of Muslims. Wait, find out who did it, THEN start laying blame. To do otherwise is to play right into their hands.

yep the act was sick

no, laughing at the implication that kids of socialists here should take note was sick.

My bad, this is starting to look more like a Columbine type incident:

Witnesses to the shootings described the gunman as Northern European-looking and said he spoke Norwegian.

"It is too early to say what is behind this," Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg said during a joint press conference with his justice minister.
Suspect held over island shooting is Norwegian: Official - The Times of India

They captured the suspect in the shootings. The shootings appear related to the bombing.

Well said.

Especially since the latest report I've read states that the shooter was Norwegian and described as a "Nordic looking man". Which in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean that it wasn't an Islamist terrorist attack but just because a bombing takes place doesn't automatically mean that it is either.

Regardless, people are still injured or dead. A tragedy is a tragedy; blame can come later, once more information is forthcoming.

suffice to say people will snap, and they can have any number of insane reasons to do it.

A 32-year-old Norwegian man is in custody, officials said, after two attacks earlier in the day that killed at least 17 people -- attacks police said are linked.

The first attack occurred when a massive bomb erupted in the heart of Oslo; the second occurred at the ruling Labour Party's youth camp on an island outside the capital.

At least seven people were killed in Oslo, and 10 were killed on Utoya Island, officials said. A Labour Party member said panic broke out at the camp, with people climbing trees and jumping in a lake to avoid the gunfire.

The acting national police chief said the gun used was an automatic weapon and that undetonated explosives were found on the island after the attack

Looks like Norwegians are about to have a major security crunch. Hopefully - and it's a faint one - the country's citizens will demand accountability from their government. They'll need to know exactly what both precipitated and what facilitated such a tragedy in their country. And those banging the pc drums should be dealt with directly and unapologetically.

.....or labeled.

Maybe for once........we should all try and stop the immediate assumptions that usually follow such an incident. Let's see what the EVIDENCE and INVESTIGATION brings forth. The authorities there are doing their best to remain objective, level headed , non reactionary as they carefully state only the KNOWN FACTS to the media. SMART NORWAY.

we should respect that and them.......by keepimg an open and objective mind.

(what NO ONE needs is a nancy grace type of over reactionary hysteria to color the facts and emotions even further. )

My goodness. ONE: let THEM deal with it in their way and stop offering opinions , ideas as they are more mature than most nations .

TWO: such a reaction as described in your post.....is usually a prelude to "lets go and attack everyone that is even remotely tied to the event and see if we can sell a few other wars while we are at it. . The american way is OUT. and very WRONG. and has been since their terror crime. Also , isn't that how revenge based policies are designed or those within a form of dictatorship???

Let's just try and be humanely SUPPORTIVE to them without dictating to them how things should be done now. They are not fools.

Norwegians live in an oasis created by easy oil profits. They are not more gifted or prescient than individuals in other western countries. And what they have today is a problem. Given that one Islamist radical group has already claimed responsibility for the terrorism it behooves Norwegians to hold their government accountable for a full hearing on what's behind this tragedy. Your approach merely gives excuse to maintain the status quo.

That's shocking. First it was five, then maybe seven. Another source ventured the possibility of fifteen. But eighty? A lone gunman killed eighty people? That's devastating.

And now news releases insist the tragedy was entirely homegrown without any terror group connection. Looks like reports are coming in on the fly. Hopefully, we'll know the exact story within a few days.
