Get 'em off the road WITHOUT making 'em show proof of nationality. Wonder how the ACLU or the Justice Department will get around this one.

Dallas TX's solution to Illegals.
Recently, in the City of Dallas, Texas, they passed an ordinance that if you are pulled over by law enforcement and not able to provide proof of insurance, your car will be towed right away. Afterwards, to retrieve your car after being impounded, you must require proof of insurance to have your car released. This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars that are typically driven by mostly illegals. Shortly after "No insurance" ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound lots began to fill up quickly and was full after nine days. Most of the impounded cars were driven by illegals. Not only must you provide proof of insurance to have your car released, you have to pay for the cost of the tow, a $350 fine, and charged $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot. I would suggest other cities across the nation to follow what Dallas , Texas is doing. Not only is it getting uninsured drivers off the road, but it is taking away vehicles driven by illegals that have no insurance.

ironsides, those on the front line know best.

Congratulations and kudoes to the city of Dallas, and good luck to the State of Arizona defending themselves in the face of federal persecution.

Has anyone listened to the main fact here. There are people
who are in the country illegally, they are not citizens and they
are using government money for health, education and so on.
Why should taxpayers pay for those who are not citizens. We
as Canadians had better start ousting those who are not part
of our Canadian family. I am not opposed to immigration and
I am not against people coming here as long as they obey the
rules and have documentation.
If you are not a legal citizen you should not have any legal status.
It doesn't matter how rude the locals are, and they are rude and
ignorant, not disputing that, the fact is there are illegals in the
country. Where I don't agree is that there has to be another way
to find illegals. You cannot just pick on one group to make them
prove they are citizens, at random. There are ways to find out.
For example, proof of citizenship should be required for all, when
applying for licences, social security, admission to schools and
institutions. When someone applies for employment, make sure
they have papers. False papers, or no papers, deportation
without appeal. Also make it mandatory for employers to report
and if they don't make the punishment serious enough to get the
desired result.
I am not trying to have it both ways. I do believe the process has
to be just and without discrimination or outing one group by race
or religion, or any other means. There are ways to detect illegals
and bully tactics are not acceptable. All countries have the right
to protect their borders and determine who can join a national
family, IE, Canadian, American or whatever. By the same token
those coming to our shores should do so according to the law,
simple as that.

damngrumpy, I have nothing against immigrants, to Canada or the United States. Legal ones, that is!

Heck, I am an immigrant (legal) myself, even though the pseudo-patriots like DurkaDurka would try (and he has, several times) to deny me my constitutional rights as a naturalized citizen.

However, when you enter a country against its laws, you are a criminal. Doesn't matter how hard you work, how loyal you pretend to be, how your kids are citizens by birth (next to laws permitting affirmative action, the greatest affront to national an human dignity) you are ILLEGAL, and should be deported along with your brood. If you love them, love them in your own country.

Or at least if you are not caught and booted out as you richly deserve, make an effort to learn and use the laguage of the country you already showed your middle digit to, just by being here like a thief. You know, illegally.

By the act of entering a country illegally you become a criminal and are subject to stoning or some more inhumane things they may have waiting for you. (like in the U.S., health care, money for you and your family) It is horrible what they have to endure. :)

Looks like other States are contemplating following the example set by Arizona.

Florida pushes for Arizona-style law

If the Federal authorities did their job, it would not be necessary.
really? that is all you got. do you know how hard it is to do a job with plenty of people are doing the job now. for god shake we got an amry there. she does not know what an illegal immgration look like. which is why did she sign into law? i wonder. hum if you can't tell us what an illegal immgration looks like why you singing into law yuo can't answer. how about the fact she took money for school to pay for boarder controls. there more to it than you think. she took education money for studentys in az for who own selfish need. its not just goverment.

The major flaw in this atricle and in most political discussions, is the assumption of a democracy or republic with government for and by the people. It may have existed at one time but I doubt it has existed in the memory of anybody living today. Politicians are paid actors in a little movie plot designed to entertain the masses with the illusion of freedom and democracy.

I remember an article I read back in the seventies called, If You Liked 1984, You will Love 1973. Even then there were people beginning to awake from the stupor of political anesthesia to realize that freedom was an idea that had long since lost its meaning or validity. We live in a corporate dictatorship enslaved by dept, like the old song "I owe my soul to the company store."

All this right wing/left wing BS is just an illusion we are fed to keep us at each others throats, a smoke and mirrors game designed to hide the real antagonists and controllers from our view. If you really feel that you want to take control back of your life, forget about politics and go after the real slave masters.

Suppose you bought a home. Suppose you did not put up a fence around it. Suppose you never locked your doors and windows. Suppose you left your car unlocked. All because you thought you lived a safe neighbourhood.

And then, some scum comes and sets up camp on your backyard. Then they bust into your house. They assault your wife and kids. They smash your furniture, windows, doors and burn your books. Then they steal your car. Then they tell you they have a right to do all those things, because they are poor and you are rich.

At what point will you say: ENOUGH!?

And when you do, your city council tells you that you are unfair to poor people, you should share your wealth. The council would prohibit you to put up a fence or install burglar alarm. The council would tell you that what you are doing is against local bylaws.

Arizona, hang in there! You are the first line of defense against the scum who never admitted defeat and are Hell bent and set on a RECONQUISTA.

Shoot on sight, without warning, if you have to! Lay land mines, if you have to, but protect Arizona!

The Mexican Government cares so much about their own people that they are willing to accept all the money sent back to Mexico by their own lawbreakers for whom they failed to provide meaningful jobs. After all, traditional corruptness is in their blood.

I was under the impression that you despised socialism...

The growth rate in Mexico is actually 7.6%.

Tonnington, I DO despise socialism.

Please note sometime in the future - and we will be here to listen yo you - what the growth rate will be in Mexico after following the example of Arizona the United States government wakes up and implements the logical solutions to the illegal scum problem.

You might be reminded of the wise words of Margaret Thathcer that socialism is fine until it runs out of someone else's money.f

Tonnington, there is no contradiction. If the Mexican government cared about its citizens, those citizens would not be so ready to piss on their government, turn tail and head for a land of opportunity that their own government, with a longer history than America has always failed to provide and will always fail to provide.

America's immigration problem is Mexican corruptness and the natural-born Mexican trait of blaming anyone and everyone else for their own short-comings.

Your favourite socialist paradise on Earth, the Soviet Empire cared enough about its citizens to protect them from falling under the capitalistic claws of the West, so they erected the Iron Curtain, with watchtowers, landmines and trigger-happy border guards to show their citizens what is the best for them.

Mexico should do no less.

Corruption is something altogether different than blaming the Mexican government for not being more socialist and giving everyone a job.

Come on, Tonnington!

Mexico has a history longer than the United States. They have natural resources. They have beautiful areas conducive to tourism to attract people from all over the world. They have history of Native Americans more than the United States could ever hope for. They have a population that is hard-working, diligent and ready to sweat and earn what they earn. Mexico is sunk in corruption and always has been. Mexico, whether you call them socialist or not is just, plainly and simply a corrupt country, which has to and always had to rely on the largesse and kindness of the United States.

If the Mexican Government were even the slightest bit responsible and had the teeniest wee bit of pride, they would close their border to the United States.

But co-operating with the drug-lords is far easier and safer than obey international laws.

I think we should be careful not to tar all Mexicans with the same brush. There's about 90 million of them- they aren't all corrupt.
