We cannot look back to another time, the fact is we are here at this place and time, with all
the problems of a modern society, we cannot just throw the door open and let everyone in.
the result would be? You guessed the newcomers would simply take over and put us in the
same position our forefathers put others when they came. We have a society of laws and
we had better ensure all those among us go by the law. Yes we all came from somewhere
else, but we are here now and we must protect the society we have.

Good thinking.

I think this is a silly discussion. We have a bunch of people whose forefathers or fathers came to this continent, bullied, killed and stole land from the inhabitants and are now talking about getting tough on people who are coming here to do the same thing, playing by the same rules our forefathers played by. History does repeat itself, kinda like a good chili.

Cliffy, They are no more native Americans than we are, just that Spain colonized a 150 or so years ahead of us down there. This is not one civilization being taken over by another one. . They are poor people looking for work and for some reason they are not allowed in Canada as easily as they are in the U.S. Your analogy is a little off, they are not afraid of beards, horses or ancient legends like the native inhabitants were. I'm all in favor of dividing them with you guys, plenty of room and resources up there.

It might just be time to give these illegals refugee status because of the drug wars going on.

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico – Four U.S. citizens were shot to death in separate attacks in the border city of Ciudad Juarez, Mexican authorities said Monday.
Chihuahua state prosecutors' spokesman Arturo Sandoval said Edgar Lopez, 35, of El Paso, Texas, was killed Sunday along with two Mexican men when gunmen opened fire on a group standing outside a house.
On Saturday, a 26-year-old U.S. woman and an American boy were slain shortly after crossing an international bridge from El Paso. Giovanna Herrera and Luis Araiza, 15, were shot to death along with a Mexican man traveling with them just after 11 a.m., Sandoval said.

Come on Cliff- it's not our fault our ancestors were such a$$holes.

Not MY ancestors! I came here alone as a seventeen-year old, my only contact with the "lawful owners" of this land was when they beat the crap out of me and left me for dead on the Geraldton railroad station.

That's the spirit Cliff- at least they left him where he could be found. Hope you expressed your gratitude Y.J.

Study: 100,000 Hispanics left Arizona after SB1070

By MARK STEVENSON Associated Press © 2010 The Associated Press

Nov. 12, 2010, 1:03AM

MEXICO CITY — A new study suggests there may be 100,000 fewer Hispanics in Arizona than there were before the debate over the state's tough new immigration law earlier this year.
BBVA Bancomer Research, which did the study, worked with figures from the U.S. Current Population Survey. The study says the decline could be due to the law known as SB1070, which partly entered into effect in July, or to Arizona's difficult economic situation.
The study released Wednesday also cites Mexican government figures as saying that 23,380 Mexicans returned from Arizona to Mexico between June and September.
U.S. census figures from 2008 say about 30 percent of people living in Arizona are Hispanic, or about 1.9 million.

Since when did Obama become synonymous with the Courts? What the hell is wrong with these people? Do they have actual holes in their head, with sections of brain exposed? Stupid.

Northern Ontario,
Who is in charge of the DOJ...? Eric Holder.

So Arizona's problem with other counties being allowed to meddle in their affairs fall squarely on the shoulders of the administration...

The Department of Justice doesn't get to dictate to the courts Das...and this is not a Federal Law. The issue is before a Federal Court, with Mexico and other nations submitting arguments as amicus curiae, the actual parties in the case are civil rights organizations, including Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Immigration Law Center, and the American Civil Liberties Union.

Obama doesn't get to interfere in court cases, separation of powers...even I know that and I'm not even an American.

And by the way, foreign countries submitting arguments by amicus curiae is not new, or out of the ordinary.

Here's one example involving Canada and the US:
Case No. 08-8003: Brief of Jennifer Stoddart, Privacy Commissioner of Canada as Amicus Curiae in Support of Appellee and Affirmance of the District Court Decision

Be it as it may....The Obama Administration, by not speaking out against this, is in fact giving a nod of approval to those countries and are making sure that Obama is a one term president:smile:

You think this issue alone seals the deal for Obama as a one-term President? The election is two years away...
