It's such a breath of fresh air to hear UK 'Leave' leaders like Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage speak in terms of sovereignty, boundaries, nation, patriotism, community and freeing themselves from the chains of supranational agencies and tribunals after years of Eurobabble.. of the inevitability of multiculturism, 'change', globalization, deindustrialization, 'Free' Markets, open immigration.. of white man's guilt.. when people see their lives and livelihoods turned upside down. This will likely start to deconstruct the failed experiment of the European Union.
The scare tactics of the Remain side.. in predicting financial chaos and disassembly of the UK won't be realized. Scotland won't separate to become a solitary, distant outpost of an increasingly decrepit and totalitarian EU over a constituent part of the UK, where its history lies. Well done to the UK in trusting in its own resources.
I think that this is a sign the we are entering a new paradigm.. casting off the Free Market, borderless world the post nationalists and post structuralists of the last 40 years. I think its a harbinger of a Trump win and a new political order in the U.S. in November.
I'm willing to go farther and predict we are at the start of a new epoch. Since the 'West' was founded in 500 A.D. with collapse of the Roman Empire we have had revolutionary overthrows of the old regime every 250 years, like clockwork. The Enlightenment started about 1750 and brought in a new order of art, architecture, philosopy, politics, science, culture. It's been apparent for 50 years that the Enlightenment has corroded into immorality, disintegration, irrationality, relativism, pseudo science, corruption. It could be a way out of the Dark Age that loomed with the continuation of that ethos.
Reform in the West has always meant a revitalization and conformation to original archetypes in faith, family, country, community. It will take a generation to fully resolve itself.. but at least it's a way out of the hopelessness of the Culture of Death in which we are ensnared.
