Venezuela Resumes Direct Oil Shipments To China

By Irina Slav - Nov 27, 2020, 9:30 AM CST
Venezuela has restarted direct shipments of crude oil to China despite U.S. sanctions, Reuters has reported, citing shipping data and documents from PDVSA.

Until now, Venezuela’s oil company sold oil to China via ship-to-ship transfers at sea, similar to sanction buddy Iran. Now, according to Reuters’ data, tankers loaded with Venezuelan crude are sailing straight to China.
TankerTrackers.com identified the first tanker that left Venezuela en route to China in August this year. Now, there is at least one more unloading crude at a Chinese port and two more, owned by PetroChina, that loaded crude in Venezuela earlier this month, according to PDVSA documents.

China is the biggest buyer of Venezuelan crude as it is of Iranian crude, despite U.S. sanctions aimed at stifling the two countries’ oil revenues. As a result of the sanctions, Venezuela’s production and exports have suffered gravely, with last month’s average in exports falling to 359,000 bpd. The drop followed the expiry of a grace period Washington had given to commodity traders to wind down their oil-for-fuel swap business with Venezuela, which was allowed for humanitarian reasons.

Yet the figure may not accurately reflect Venezuela’s total exports because of the ship-to-ship transfers the country has resorted to in order to get its crude abroad in spite of sanctions. The latest news from Reuters and TankerTrackers.com suggests Venezuela may be exporting more than what the official figures suggest.

After AOC Calls for Boycott of Pro-Trump GOYA, Sales Skyrocket and CEO Names Her 'Employee of the Month'

BY AILA SLISCO ON 12/07/20

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was named Goya's "employee of the month" for allegedly driving up business with her criticism, according to the company's CEO.

Goya Foods CEO Robert Unanue made the remarks during an interview on a radio show hosted by conservative Michael Berry on Monday. Ocasio-Cortez supported a Goya boycott while calling out Unanue for his public support of President Donald Trump over the summer. Unanue insisted she had gone "against her own people" by denouncing the company while claiming her statements led to a massive spike in sales.

"It's interesting that AOC was one of the first people to step in line to boycott Goya. To go against her own people, as supposedly a Puerto Rican woman, to go against people of her own Latin culture," Unanue said. "To some extent I can understand AOC. She's young, she's naïve, she doesn't get it. But you've got someone like [Senator Bernie] Sanders, who's older than us ... other than me, who still doesn't get it."

Goya's sales actually increased by 1000% percent. Nothing says "F*ck You" like naming someone who hates you as "Employee of the Month". :ROFLMAO:

AOC calls Amazon jobs a 'scam' because more than 4,000 of its employees are on food stamps

She is not taking into account of the 10's of thousand's employed by the corporations that pay tax's in all forms including paying her salary. Does she realize for every extra dollar she wants to tax corporations she would lose Two in the reduction of employees and spin off businesses they support.

Of course not. As far as she's concerned, it's not relevant. Her minor in University was in economics which, I'm sure she must have flunked. She's an arrogant & disingenuous socialist who doesn't give a damn about Americans, only her agenda. It's unbelievable that she & the rest of the swamp were re-elected. Obviously, her constituents aren't doing their homework or don't understand what her (their) agenda means to the average American.

In a room full of rich people, U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t just make a fashion statement. She made a political statement.

Ocasio-Cortez showed up to the Met Gala on Monday night in a (borrowed!) white gown with “Tax the Rich’ emblazoned in big, red block letters on the back. The message was also splashed across her red bag.

While some loved AOC’s look and message, many criticized her for attending the over-the-top event, where tables reportedly range from $200,000 to $300,000.

Donald Trump Jr. called Ocasio-Cortez a “fraud,” then called her out for not wearing a mask “after spending the past 18 months as one of the biggest authoritarian mask Karens in the country.”

Actor Michael Rappaport mocked her dress, captioning pics of AOC in a fitting session with, “Tax the Rich dress while at the most elitist event on the planet,” and “TAX THE RICH even though I live hanging around the rich and can’t wait to be rich.”

Daily Caller writer Greg Price added, “AOC grew up in a wealthy suburb, went to one of the most expensive colleges in America, makes a six figure salary, drives a Tesla, lives above a whole foods, and is currently at an event that costs more to attend than America’s average personal income.”

Andray Domise, a writer and partner in black news network Rezistans Nwa, pointed out that the gala was taking place mere feet from where cops were arresting ‘defund the police’ protesters – a cause Ocasio-Cortez has previously supported.

“Police were creasing people’s heads outside while you and your friends were nibbling watermelon tarts with smoked yuzu soy on panipuri crackers,” he wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted.

AOC certainly made the most of her first Met Gala, taking to Instagram to explain that she and Canadian designer Aurora James are working together to “kick open the doors at the Met. The time is now for childcare, health care, and climate action for all. Tax the Rich.”

She made sure to add that “NYC elected officials are regularly invited to and attend the Met due to our responsibilities in overseeing our city’s cultural institutions that serve the public. I was one of several in attendance.”

The 31-year-old socialist attended the over-the-top event with her boyfriend, Riley Roberts, after primping at The Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side.

AOC walked alongside James, the founder of Brother Vellies who also started the 15 Percent Pledge, a non-profit that aims to bring Black-owned businesses to major retailers.

The politician and activist claimed she attended for free, telling Vogue, “The Met Gala is seen as elite and inaccessible. As a working-class woman, (I) wanted to enjoy the event but also break the fourth wall and challenge the industry.”
