What good is defecit spending if a big chunk is to subsidize food? How can you borrow to eat and keep things at status quo?
How many aren't? How long will subsidies/tax breaks last? What does having less to eat mean for the entire economy and health/productivity of Canada?
Good question because the true fix is to let the developing world develope but that goes against everything pitched by the "sustainable growth" green crowd. You tell me how to fix it?
You certainly seem aware of the facts that "jackass" was talking about.

Or we can "social leveling" like in the good ol' days of Lennin and Trotsky.
Have you heard anyone pitch that yet with agro subsidies funded by the G8 etc?
I don't have to watch any video, to know one solution is to start salvaging for use and reuse all the stuff that is going into landfills. People have to stop the habit of getting rid of stuff just because it has a scratch or they are getting tired of it. How much useless paper comes in our door every day? I'll bet if all the metal lying around rusting was put to use, we could stop mining for a year. Make a law about planned obsolescence- look at computers, obsolete in a year. Why do we have to buy new electronics all the time with the accompanying housing when we can simply install new chips, transistors etc? Look at the food being wasted. What do restaurants do with all the bread crusts? When they crack an egg and the yolk breaks what happens to the egg? In the garbage? In short, STOP THE WASTE.
Food subsidies began shortly after WWII long before there was easy credit. The Feds are putting the subsidies on VISA?The invention of the credit card helps us consume beyond our means.

Without the subsidies since the 50's we'd still be spending 60% of our income on food and the consumer glutony and waste that is allegedly killing the planet would have never existed. It was a comment about debt.....which grows every year.
Consumer debt in Canada is now the highest per capita of the indutrialised world.

At some point all those debts will be called in.
Another big bank bailout is just around the corner which means the inflation faerie is going to leave a big juicy **** under our pillows.
How many peas are in an i-Pod?
It's the history of consumerism in a sustainabilty thread. It's on track.
Where do I argue in favour of a global socialist system? Is it?
One minute you make an argument against subsidies then you make one for them.
You pull numbers out of the air and link a page with a thousand other links and say 'it's all there' like that is proof.
You call Dr Reese a jackass then spew out some of the very things he talks about.
I don't know where you get the stuff buddy but mail me some of that weed you smoke.
Take care.:canada:
