60% of the Indian Affairs budget is eaten up by federal, provincial and municipal (non-native) governments in administration fees. I am well aware of corruption at the council level. And one can eat and drink without money. I don't pay for water running through the forest (my source of water) and anybody can grow their own food, even in urban concentration camps.

You're right, cut them right off. Sink or swim.

Prove that statement.

And yet you have no garden, don't hunt or fish and think radium in your water is a treat.

Yes but he's done some good things too Cliffy, don't forget the hospitals and schools in Afghanistan, and now they even have a democratic government with women init, and heroin production has never been better, and in the next eighteen months he will conscript 200,000 Canadians to join the war against Russia.

Full Employment. See the world.

How much taxes have you paid since Harper was elected?
I don't know about Cliffy but I pay a fair amount more in taxes, since the Conservatives took over the finances. Add that to how much the cost of living has risen, everyone's standard of living has gone down. The lowering of the interest rate instead it rising,, contrary to what was expected, indicates a slowing economy. It seems the Conservatives really believed their own propaganda. Things are not going well in the conservative kingdom!!

Then I guess, it is time to do more in the way of manufacturing instead of selling the raw materials to other countries right? Gee, I guess instead of going to war, we could have put all those young people to work with those hundred of million or billions on building those corridors.

Afghanistan was supposed to have been merely peace keeping just as the present government promised no feet on the ground in these wars.

In any case, I will not vote for Harper and I am not alone. Governments need to be changed or they become corrupt, and in my opinion, this government has passed it's best before date.

Really????.

Jean Chretien sent in Canadian troops when the USA invaded Afghanistan, where our snipers made an impression.....and lots of dead Taliban. He then volunteered us for Kandahar, the epicenter of the Taliban's power, and the most violent place in the country. "Peacekeeping" was never in the cards. Not in this dimension anyway.

I'm paying less taxes. How did you end up paying more? I've seen the population of my province jump by 10% since Harper was elected. Potholes were fixed too.

I don't think she's playing with a "full deck", Petros! (Some people think the government is supposed to look after them)

Dream on, Bluebyrd. Taxes are lower now than at any time the Liberals were in power.

Let me get this straight; the deficit and dept are higher but the taxes are lower. So, it seems to me, they are related and who is going to pay for this lower tax - perhaps the next generation? Pretty selfish crap if you ask me. You want your kids and grand kids to pay for your excesses? That is what it looks like.

That is a fair assessment of what lefty governments have done to us over the years.

You're not going to get the correct answer to this without having ALL the figures and getting answers to ALL the questions. I can only judge from what I experience personally. I'm better off since income splitting for seniors was introduced and the G.S.T. was reduced. I'm not sure what my excesses have been. I haven't travelled more than 50 miles from home in about three years and I don't buy booze, smokes or hookers! Debt is a nebulous thing - the meaning is vague without knowing the sum of the assets. etc. etc. etc.

Good debt! He said "good debt" isn't it interesting how Harper Conservatives have interferred with the meaning of words. The idea of "good debt" is kinda weird like satanic nutty thinking

Not to mention there is good debt and bad debt.

Right on, upon learning of Bluebyrd's dissatisfaction about tax levels, I checked into the G.S.T. It's been at 5% pretty well since Harper gained power. Under the Liberals it was never under 6% and at 7% for awhile. Some people seem to have short memories (myself included but I try to check the figures before blabbing):)

There's no such thing as good debt. Debt is bad.
