The RCMP did not interview Prime Minister Justin Trudeau before concluding that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate a criminal offence in the SNC-Lavalin scandal, top officials confirmed in a House of Commons committee hearing on Tuesday.

In fact, the federal police interviewed only four individuals, one of whom was former justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould, and they did not even attempt to get Trudeau’s testimony.

The revelation raised eyebrows among Conservatives at the ethics committee who wondered why the RCMP did not get to the heart of the allegations of political interference from the Prime Minister’s Office against Wilson-Raybould that shocked the country five years ago.

“In my over 30 years of experience as a defence counsel and a Crown attorney, I have never heard of any investigation where there wasn’t any attempt — whether they agree to interview or not — to interview the person of interest,” said Conservative MP Larry Brock.

RCMP Commissioner Michael Duheme and Sergeant Frédéric Pincince, who oversaw the investigation into SNC-Lavalin, were supposed to testify last October but the Liberals shut down the meeting because, they claimed, their appearance was confirmed at the last minute.
Records made public last fall by Democracy Watch show the RCMP mostly relied on public claims made by the actors involved in the SNC-Lavalin affair to come to their conclusions and did not even apply to obtain a search warrant to access confidential cabinet documents.

Pick a Liberal scandal, from foreign interference — where Trudeau had to be dragged kicking and screaming into a public inquiry whose effectiveness, for that reason, is already suspect — to the WE Charity mess, to SNC-Lavalin, to cash for access, to the Aga Khan affair and more.
The Liberal response has always been the same.

Deny, deny, deny and stall, stall, stall.

Recall Trudeau’s infamous comment in February 2019 that the allegations in the Globe and Mail story that broke the SNC-Lavalin scandal — were “false”.

In fact, they turned out to be true, that Trudeau had, according to the federal ethics commissioner, broken the conflict of interest act by pressuring then attorney-general Jody Wilson-Raybould to grant a deferred prosecution agreement to the Quebec company.
They will, unless prevented, investigate themselves with the same conclusion as the last almost decade…

Unnamed people for that, MP’s & Senators apparently…& without naming them, it casts the doubt & suspicion upon all of them.

What if this un-naming drags out to about October 20th, 2025 or so? Or longer? Who do you know who you shouldn’t vote for if it happens to be your MP from your riding in bed with a foreign government?

Ontario keeps slipping. A concern. If they can flip Ontario they can maintain minority.
The public service is probably shitting their pants at the idea of Pollievre getting elected. He's sharpening his knife for the cutting of bureaucratic fat. So, they'll be running lots of negative ads. Somehow, this government has managed to increase the civil service while making it even lazier and more incompetent. I'll just pause here so we can all reflect on that. How dare we ask them to come in and do their jobs three days a week?

What a self-entitled lack luster Ken doll we have for a Prime Minister whose only true accomplishment is to tromp from one scandal to the next and just when we think he can't look any stupider, he proves us wrong. A plastic doll has more substance than this useless twat.

AI. Humans are obsolete unless you need your sewer snaked. If I were a sewer snake beaurocrat who can be replaced by AI, I'd be buying a sewer snake. Easy G note a day. A big chunk of that in cash.

Just assume if your MP is Liberal that they are in bed with a foreign government and vote accordingly.
There are also Conservatives & other party members that are suspect as well aren't there? We need to know who they are no matter what Party they're from. This is vitally important but it seems the Liberals don't give a crap. This is SO frustrating when you know your government is corrupt & there's not a damn thing you can do about it!! We need some legislative changes about this very thing & the sooner the better. Otherwise, we're unable to hold anyone accountable,

That’s what’s alluded to, but the difference is that the Conservatives are wanting the names publicly released, & the Liberals are not.
We need to know who they are no matter what Party they're from.
I concur with your assessment of this situation.
This is vitally important but it seems the Liberals don't give a crap.
Ummmm…If they didn’t give a crap, they would have no issue with releasing those names…so maybe it’s not that they don’t give a crap…but something else?
This is SO frustrating when you know your government is corrupt & there's not a damn thing you can do about it!! We need some legislative changes about this very thing & the sooner the better. Otherwise, we're unable to hold anyone accountable,
If we knew the names of those involved in foreign interference, and not just the victims of it, we could do something with our votes once we’re allowed to do so….

I bet you the Liberals are seeing if there is a way they can release the Conservative and NDP names while withholding the Liberal ones.
If the Conservatives & NDP & Bloc are all asking for these names to be released, as opposed to the Liberals… when they say that some MP’s (& potentially senators) are involved in foreign interference… it makes you wonder in what capacity?

Conservatives involved like Erin O’toole as victims of Chinese/Indian/Iranian/etc… interference? Or MP’s benefiting from it? Until the names are released, EVERY MP is cast with this odiferous stank of corruption hovering over Parliament currently, whether they’re involved or not.

Is it fair to those MPs that aren’t involved in this pustulant corruption to be painted with the same brush by not exposing those that are bought and paid for foreign actors?

To say that “This is being passed to the RCMP to investigate…” which would take years…years…”& the public learn names if they are ever charged” which, even guilty as Hell is an unlikely outcome I’d assume, is a complete and total copout…& sure as shit wouldn’t happen before the next election is called…so nobody would know for sure if their candidates are the treasonous pricks that should be swinging from a rope instead of representing in parliament?
