As many have said, if a man had entered a classroom and separated blacks from whites or Jews from Christians, then proceeded to kill the minority group, all the headlines the next day would have read: “Racist killings” “Anti-Semitic murders.” But despite the fact that Lépine was careful to kill only women during his rampage, going so far as to tell men to move out of the way, and despite the fact that he left a note explaining his sexist motives, there were no “Misogyny killings” or “Sexist attack” headlines the next day. Pushing denial to new heights, an editorial in Le Soleil even went so far as to claim that the tragedy had “nothing to do with women.” Fourteen women were dead, but we were not to jump to conclusions, we were not to connect the dots and assume that women or feminism were targeted.

NOT made up. Lepine was screwed before he left the womb. His father was an Algerian Muslim, his mother a former Catholic nun. His father was a woman-hater in the extreme........and please see the rest of my reply to DaSleeper below.
Hoid has one point on the subject; Lepine was NOT a practicing or a professed Muslim. However, his misogyny was certainly learned from his Muslim father.
I haven't been to church in a while which means I am not a practicing Christian, but I still try to follow Christian rules
and identify as a Christian...
Who's to say that Gamil Rodrigue Liass Gharbi wasn't doing the same thing, following the muslim or islamic code of conduct!

Three people are in custody following an investigation by the Regina Police Service's Street Gang Unit.
On Wednesday shortly after 7:45 p.m. CST, a SWAT team carried out a search warrant for a home on the 1200 block of Robinson Street. The search turned up three firearms and resulted in 23 gun-related charges.
Police blocked off the street for approximately an hour and a half.
Two men, a 43-year-old and a 46-year-old, are facing a combined 23 weapon related charges. The 43-year-old man is also facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.
One of the men was arrested at the home while the other was arrested during a traffic stop nearby.
A woman was also arrested at the home due to an outstanding warrant.
Both men made their first appearance in Regina provincial court Thursday morning.

RPS is doing an excellent job cleaning up the gangs and guns.

'The issue of firearms control has intentionally not been addressed. With the unlimited ammunition and time that Marc Lépine had available to him, he would probably have been able to achieve similar results even with a conventional hunting weapon, which itself is readily accessible'

BTW, the Mini 14 IS a "conventional hunting weapon", although what I think what he meant was a weapon that was not semi automatic.

If I had a choice, I'd choose the Ruger American Bolt-Action Rifle in a .308 Winchester. A good friend of mine has one, it is good for deer, elk, moose, you name it.
