its ok to run deficits as long as you spend on infrastructure.

thats why they were ok with harper spending so much.

No one except the extreme left was really OK with Harper's deficits either. But he had a minority government for two terms so was obligated to make sacrifices in order to retain power. Note that once he had a majority government the deficits dissapeared.

Trudeau debt bad. Trump debt good.

Spoken like a true neanderthal.

It's unfortunate you're too obtuse to even realize the topic of this thread.

So I ask again...where's the infrastructure? (hint: paying off terrorists is not considered infrastructure.)

Another 12 billion...best case scenario, for a pipeline that was going to be built by private investors...if only Trudeau could have gotten his shit together and exercised some leadership. Buying this pipe does nothing to change BC's stance or other opponents of the pipeline.

I hope this investment shows a strong return, and is not just an albatross that ends up costing billions that ends up perpetually tied up in political turmoil and ultimately ends up in the scrapheap ...in the interest of...you know... saving the planet.

I fear the latter.

I hear you, but at this juncture what other choice is there? These assholes that don't want industry should be put on a slow boat to Guam with a bag full of pineapple seeds.

That's the point, isn't it. Trudeau had options that he didn't exercise. While he was telling Saskatchewan that their refusal to sign onto his carbon scheme would result in being ineligible for $62 million in low carbon project funding initially earmarked for the province, Federal transfers to BC’s treasury accounted for $8.9 billion this fiscal year, or almost 17% of BC’s budget that wasn't even on the table for "negotiating" and exercising federal jurisdictional authority.

Brad Wall put it well yesterday...I think the feds got their first and last resorts mixed up!!
