Just like the crap in the oceans, we humans have managed to do the same to the air!! Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there. It blocks the heat from radiating outwards, it is trapped by rubbish. Some of that rubbish is acting like the ocean rubbish. It will eventually make the air completely unbreathable. Now it is trapping the heat.

Really?? How is going from 3% CO2 to 3.01% equal to destroying the planet? How is lowering the O2 content from 21% to 20% not considered to be dangerous to all flesh??

A few big boats with skimmers could clean up the floating plastic in a year so it isn't a big deal. Where it gathers would seem to be where the surface water sinks. If that is the case it is the perfect spot for a garbage dump.

0.04% is a lot less that the number I used, the rate of the increase can hardly be measured and I have som serious doubts if they know what it was at the end of the last ice-age.

3ppm is 0.0003% so I was being generous in how much it is rising.405.1000 to 405.1003 is not an indication that the sky is falling.

A photographer has captured the damage being done to the planet's oceans with a shocking “sea of plastic and styrofoam” image taken near a tranquil Caribbean island.
Caroline Power, who specialises in underwater photography, has dedicated her career to highlighting the damage plastic waste is doing to our oceans.
She said witnessing the plastic blanket of forks, bottles and rubbish between the islands Roatan and Cayos Cochinos, off the coast of Honduras, was “devastating”
“To see something that I care so deeply for being killed, slowly choked to death by human waste was devastating,” she told The Telegraph.
“Once the trash is in the ocean, it is incredibly difficult and costly to remove. The key is to stop the trash before it enters the ocean.
“In order for that to happen, we need to improve waste management, environmental education and recycling facilities on a global scale. This is a developed nation (first world) problem as well.”
