Shocking photo shows Caribbean Sea being 'choked to death by human waste'

A photographer has captured the damage being done to the planet's oceans with a shocking “sea of plastic and styrofoam” image taken near a tranquil Caribbean island.
Caroline Power, who specialises in underwater photography, has dedicated her career to highlighting the damage plastic waste is doing to our oceans.
She said witnessing the plastic blanket of forks, bottles and rubbish between the islands Roatan and Cayos Cochinos, off the coast of Honduras, was “devastating”
“To see something that I care so deeply for being killed, slowly choked to death by human waste was devastating,” she told The Telegraph.
“Once the trash is in the ocean, it is incredibly difficult and costly to remove. The key is to stop the trash before it enters the ocean.
“In order for that to happen, we need to improve waste management, environmental education and recycling facilities on a global scale. This is a developed nation (first world) problem as well.”

I have been saying for years that global warming is a smoke screen to cover up our poisoning of the Earth.

"Normal' means you suck up what the religious groups decide is normal. Politicians are a smokescreen to hide who really gives the orders.

Just like the crap in the oceans, we humans have managed to do the same to the air!! Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there. It blocks the heat from radiating outwards, it is trapped by rubbish. Some of that rubbish is acting like the ocean rubbish. It will eventually make the air completely unbreathable. Now it is trapping the heat.

Well if anybody wanted to clean up that mess all it would take is a vacuum pump and a barge .

Not necessarily!

And a million years! :) :)
No very little time only energy and political will .Once a start is made human innovation will improve and speed the solutions . Remember False Creek prior to the Expo 86 clean up ? It was pure polluted sludge that stunk to high heaven when the tide was out . You now find clean healthy life sustaining water and no stench .All it takes is political will and dollars .

Yeah sure!! So clear thinking is not your forte
Ever unloaded a fishing boat with a vacuum pump ? Didn't think so . A little tweaking of the technology should change the application to pick up that plastic and garbage . I am sure some bright engineer is working on it right now .

LOL The only vacuum pump I use is to empty to pool in the fall. To bail out my fishing boat, I use the empty soup can method.

Besides that does not take care of the main problem which is the plastic waste dumped in the oceans/
